패션일러스트레이션의 부조적 표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

패션(Fashion)과 관련된 제반 디자인활동은 미래지향적 활동이기때문에 디자이너는 과거에 의존하기 보다 현 동향에 최대로 민감해야 하며, 그의 디자인의 모든 측면에 대해 예견할수 있어야하고, 또한 이것들을 통합할수 있어야 한다. 이러한 패션과 관련된 활동중에서도 패션 일러스트레이션(Fashion Illus-tration)이 그 변화양식과 미래 표현방식을 어떻게 채택할것인지 연구해 보는 것은 대단히 흥미있고 의미있는 일일 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 패션 일러스트레이션이 '부조'라는 표현 방식을 통해 평면 일러스트레이션에서 느끼지 못하는 패션 이미지를 보다 효율적으로 전달할수 있음을 입증하고, 이전에 사용치 않았던 새로운 소재를 과감히 선택, 이용함으로써 부조 일러스트레이션에서 보다 여러 컨셉 여러 컨셉의 의복표현이 가능함을 제시하고, 패션 일러스트레이션의 개념을 패션 디자인의 보조수단에서 탈피한 그 자체로서의 예술적 가치를 지닌 작품으로, 보다 적극적인 개념으로의 예술의 한 분야로 확립시키는데 있다. 사실상 우리들의 생활공간이란 거의 모든것이 3차원의 세계이며 따라서 현실적인 조형물의 창조세계도 궁극적으로 입체와 공간의 표현이 되어야 하는 것이다. 또한 대중은 복잡한 생활속에서 보다 많은 정보를 단시간 내에 전달 받아야하고 그러한 심적 부담속에서 2차원적인 분석적 구조 보다는 3차원적 입체영상에 의한 직감적 전달을 더욱 요구하게 되는바, 패션 일러스트레이션의 표현 양식에 있어서도 새로운 시도와 감각적인 독특한 방법전개가 필요하게 된 것이다. 본 연구의 내용은 패션 일러스트레이션의 개념과 기능 및 용도, 그리고 그것이 갖추어야 할 기본 요건에 대해 알아보고 과거 패션 일러스트레이션의 흐름과 그에 따른 일러스트레이션 표현양상의 변화를 조사하였으며, 현대 부조적 일러스트레이션의 작가와 작품을 사진을 통해 알아 보았다. 작품제작은 피.에스.페이퍼(Poly Steelen Paper) 소재의 컷팅(Cut-ting)에 의한 부조화 방법을 기본으로 하여 아크릭(Acrylic)물감, 젯소(Gesso), 페인트라이터(Paint Writer)등의 기본 재료에 모델링 페이스트(Modeling Paste), 젤 미디움(Gel Medium), 한지. 칼라쉬트(Color Sheet), 스톤스프레이(Stone Spray)등을 추가로 사용하였다. 작품전개는 두상, 남녀 반신상, 전신상, 2인상 등 인체의 부분을 단계적으로 확대하는 작업을 하였고, 의복디자인 선택에 있어서도 일정 컨셉의 의복에 국한시키지 않았으며, 이러한 다양한 의복라인을 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울의 계절적 의미가 주는 자연의 부드럽고도 강열한 칼라이미지와 결합, 표현함으로써 피.에스.페이퍼 부조소재의 다양한 표현가능성을 제시하였다. 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 급속한 과학기술의 변모속에 다양한 기법과 소재를 추구하고 있는 현대예술의 전반적인 흐름은 패션 일러스트레이션에도 영향을 미쳐 보다 새로운 방법모색에의 조형욕구를 불러일으키게 되었다. 이에 예술의 흐름과 함께 하려는 패션 일러스트레이션의 노력은 '부조'라는 조형형태를 통해 표출되어지기에 이르른 것이다. 둘째, 부조 패션 일러스트레이션은 현대패션디자인의 조형적표현이나 특이한 소재 도입이 평면일러스트레이션에게 남겨준 표현한계를 넘어서 그 이미지를 보다 효과적으로 전달할수 있으며 부조의 표면에 다양한 소재 전개가 가능하므로 그 표현 가능성이 무한하다. 셋째, 순수 미술의 의식과 흐름을 함께하는 '부조'의 조형적 아름다움이나, 그속에 표현되는 다양한 소재의 전개는 부조 패션 일러스트레이션이 지니는 기능성 이외에 그 자체만으로서도 충분한 예술적 가치를 가질수 있다. 넷째, 새로운 기법의 추구는 다양한 시도를 통해 가능하고 이러한 다양한 시도속에서 의외의 새로움이 탄생되기도 한다. 피.에스.페이퍼를 이용한 부조 패션 일러스트레이션은 그 작업 진행과정에서 나타나는 의도적이지 않은 신선한 의외성 들로 인해 작품의 독특함과 다양한 변화의 묘미를 주며 이는 패션 일러스트레이션의 주된 목적인 주목성을 높여준다는 점에서 기능적 역할을 충분히 감당해 내고 있음을 의미한다 하겠다.;As design activity related to fashion is future-oriented activity, de-signer should be most sensitive to present trends rather depending on the fast. And of these fashion related activities it'll be very interesting and meaningful to study how the fashion illustration will adopt the change mode and future expression method. The purpose of this study is to illustrate that through the "relief" expression method, fashion illustration can delive more effectively costume's fashion image which can't be felt in plane illustration and adopting and using boldly new material not used before, to suggest that more several concept's costume expression is possible in relief illustration and to establish the concept of fashion illustration as a work having artistic value in itself escaped from the assistant means of fashion de-sign and a sphere of art having more positive concept. In fact, our life space is almost three-dimensional world, so the actual moulding's creative world should be ultimately the expression of relief and space. Also the general public should be delivered more news in short time in complex life and in such psychological load, intuitional delivery by three dimensional cubic image rather than two-dimensional analytical structure is more needed, new trial and sensual unique method display is needed in the expression mode of fashion illustration. The content of this study is to find the concept, function, use of fashion illustration and the basic principles which it should have, and studied the history of the fashion illustration and the changes of the ex-pression. I also studied the artist and their works of the modern relief illustration by pictures. The relief by cutting of the material P.S.Paper (Pory Steelen Paper) is based on these art works and Acrylic, Gesso, Paint Writer etc added to these basic materials of Modeling Paste, Gel Medium, Color Sheet, Stone Spray. As work development, the parts of human body, man and also in the development of costume line, by combining and expressing the casual, sport, high fashion style with the nature's soft and intense color image which the Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter's seasonic meaning gives, various expressional possibility of P.S.Paper relief material were suggested. The result through this study is as follows : First, the general trend of modern art which pursuing various method and materials in the rapid change of scientific technique affected also to the fashion illustration, moulding need for groping more new method was called. According to this, the effort of fashion illustration having the will of going together the flow of art was became expressed through the "relief" moulding shape. Second, though the relief fashion illustration is the moulding expression of modern fashion design, passing over the expression limit which the modern fashion design's moulding expression and specific material introduction left to the plane illustration, it can deliver it's image more effectively, and as more various material introduction is possible on it's surface, it's expression possibility is infinite. Third, to the public living in three-dimensional space system, the 'relief' expression method can take strong message delivering role which the plane illustration cannot give. Fourth, the pursuit of new method can be possible through various trials, and in these various trials, unexpected new can get born. It is possible to express the peculiarity and variety of the relief fashion illustration by P.S.Paper because of something beyond our expectation at work, which means relief illustration fullfils it's function because it improves attention that is fashion illustration's purpose.
