한국 현대공예품 형태의 균형에 관한 연구

Abstract

As the creative activities of modern art chasing after the beauty persisted itself endlesly to such degree as for formative character to contribute to material fulfilment and metnal life through the human sense. In producing an art the effect of Blance which is one of import aesthetic forms give diverse varaiety to the works and constitute an essential condition in the course of creation of the formavtive art. This study therefore is purposed to understand the future trend of progress of the 3-Dimensional Form Crafts through an examination of how the blance of the shape worked upon the functional and aesthetic character as well as that of tendency of the industrial art in this country, with particular concern with the 3-Dimensional Form. In order to achieve this purpose, the forms and the functions of the crafts, pursuing of shape, the formative character in various forms, and the meaning of blance and the theoretical background of the same have been closely studied. With this study I have observed comparative difference between symmetry and Asymmetry of the potteries, wooden crafts, metal crafts among the numerous works of 3-Dimensional formative art displayed on series of the national exhibition of art beginning form 11th through to the 30th, to find out the following outcomes. Firstly the Blance of the purely formative art is always expressed in the form to be sensed visually while that of the crafts is expressed through psycholosical effect and that all the works of formative art are nowadays required to have the effect of blance in some form or other. Secondly, while the Blance in primtive of ancient times was the conceptional symbol and that of the middle ages represented tradition and authority, in recent and modern times it has changed into a form of Asymmety representing inner life of the artists with the tendency of autonomy pervailing over formative works. Thirdly, the principle and the effect of the blance of the 3-Dimensional crafts displayed in the series of the national exhibition of art reflected the though and tendency characteristic to each epoch which can be indentified on each round of the said exhibition. It has been true that the blance is founded on the symmetry so far as our modern crafts are concerned, but it is another matter, that the form of shape is in blance. The works of 3-Dimensional Form crafts exhibitied on the department of the crafts of the said exhibition tell us that it will continue to be the case of swing between the symmetry and Asymmetry for the aesthetic sense of each artist influenced by the worldwide tendency. It is further viewed that nobody can discern which is more desirable for the character of an crafts aesthetic or functional.;미를 추구하는 창조활동으로서의 현대의 미술은 끊임없이 지속되어 그의 조형성은 인간의 감각을 통하여 물질적 충만과 정신생활에 기여하고 있다. 이러한 미술이 되어지는데 있어서 미적형식 중의 하나인 균형효과는 작품에 변화를 주며 조형예술의 창조과정에 있어서 중요한 조건이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 우리나라 공예작품 중 입체로 된 작품의 경향을 알아보고 형태의 균형이 기능성과 심미성에 미치는 영향에 관해서 고찰함으로써 입체적 공예작품의 앞으로의 방향을 연구하려는데 목적이 있다. 이 목적을 위하여 형태와 기능과의 관계, 형태의 탐구, 변형, 조형성, 그리고 균형의 의미와 특성등 이론적 배경을 고찰하고 이를 토대로 하여 국전 11회부터 30회까지의 입체적 공예작품 가운데 도자기, 목공예, 금속공예를 중심으로 균형효과를 비교 연구한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째 : 균형은 공예분야에서는 시각적 형식외에 심리적 작용으로 나타나고 또 기능성과 관계되어 모든 조형적 작품에는 균형이 요구되며 균형의 효과가 어떠한 형태로든 나타난다. 둘째 : 균형은 역사적으로 원시, 고대에서는 관념적 상징으로, 중세에서는 습관과 권위로 되었으며 근대나 현대로 오면서 조형적 자율성에 근거한 작가의 내면세계를 표현하는 비대칭의 형태로 변모하고 있다. 세째 : 입체적 공예작품에 있어 균형의 원리와 효과는 국전 매회마다 그 시기의 사조의 영향을 받아 작품에 나타난다. 이와 같이 우리나라 현대공예에 있어 균형의 기초는 대칭이지만 공예의 형태가 대칭적인 것을 반드시 옳다고 단정할 수 없으며 국전 공예부에 출품된 입체적 공예작품이 개인 작가의 미의식과 세계적 추세의 미적감각이 시대적인 미를 추구하는 경향은 대칭과 비대칭형의 사이를 오가는 공예로 계속될 것이다. 그러므로 심미성과 기능성은 어느 것이 공예작품에 바람직하다고 단정하기는 어렵다.
