自然現象의 律動的 表現에 관한 硏究

Abstract

人間은 아름다움을 추구하기 위해 끊임없는 노력을 해오고 있다. 이러한 인간의 審美的 欲求에 自然은 藝術活動의 主要表現對象으로서 존재해 왔다. 표현대상인 自然속에는 여러가지 調和로운 秩序가 있으며 이러한 자연의 오묘한 질서는 곧 造形的 表現의 原理로 예술가에게 美的 感動을 주기에 충분한 요소라고 생각된다. 예술활동에 있어서 自然은 객관적인 美的 對象이지만 예술가들은 자연을 東西古今을 통하여 다르게 表現하여 왔다. 즉 과거에는 자연의 외적 현실 그대로를 模倣하고 描寫하였으나 근래에 와서는 美意識의 변화와 함께 다양한 表現方式에 따라 獨創的으로 자기를 주장하며 표현하고 있다. 이와 같이 표현대상인 自然現象이나 形態는 예술가에 의해 시대와 개인의 造形觀에 따라 변형되어 새로운 아름다움으로 創造되고 있다. 이러한 創造的 摸索은 염색공예에서도 꾸준히 이루어지고 있으며 造形藝術의 한 분야로서 獨創的인 造形世界를 구축해 가고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 심오한 자연에서 볼 수 있는 自然生成的인 움직임에서 자연의 이미지를 연구자의 조형적 시각에 의해 律動的으로 形象化함으로써 염색공예에서의 美的 價値를 추구하는데 연구의 목적을 두고자 하였다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로 자연과 예술, 자연의 변형, 율동적 표현에 관하여 고찰해 보고 작품제작을 위한 표현소재, 재료와 기법, 표현양식을 연구하였다. 이러한 이론적 연구를 바탕으로 작품을 제작하고 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 自然은 美의 根源이며 藝術의 母體로서 예술가에게 무한한 素材를 제공하고 있으며 예술가들은 자연을 主要表現對象으로 하여 자연을 그대로 再現하지 않고 작가의 주관과 미적 체험에 의해 變形하여 새로운 아름다움으로 形象化하고 있음을 알았다. 둘째, 自然의 이미지를 연구자의 주관에 따라 形象化하는 과정을 통하여 소재로 선정한 물과 나무 등의 질서있는 動勢는 자연을 律動的으로 表現하기에 적절한 素材였다고 생각한다. 넷째, 작품제작에 있어서 파라핀의 특성과 색상의 농담에 의한 漸移와 反復의 방법을 활용함으로써 自然現象의 律動을 효과적으로 표현할 수 있었다. 전체적으로 염색의 재료와 기법을 활용하여 自然의 이미지를 좀 더 生動的으로 표현하였으면 하는 아쉬움이 남는다. 본 연구를 계기로 앞으로 소재에 대한 많은 연구를 하고 염색재료 및 기법을 개발하여 審美的 目的을 위한 造形活動과 더불어 실생활에 應用할 수 있는 生活工藝의 차원으로까지 발전시켜 염색예술의 獨創的인 造形世界를 구축해 나가고자 한다.;Human beings have made an ceaseless effort to pursue the beauty. As a result of their aesthetic desire like this, the nature has existed as a principal expression object for the artistic activities. There are a lot of harmonious orders in the nature as a expression object, and such recondite orders of the nature have functioned as an important factor to inspire the artists which has been considered as the principle of formative expression. Although the nature is an expression object of the beauty, it has been expressed in various ways by the artists in all ages and countries. To put it concretely, in the past, the artists immitated and depicted the external reality of the nature as it was, but in modern, they came to express it creatively by means of the various expression methods as the aesthetic consciousness has changed. Like this, the natural phenomena and forms for the expression object have been re-created and turned into the beauty of newness by the artists in accordance with their formative point of view at each time. Such creative activities have also continued in the sphere of dyeing art, and as a field of formative arts, the dyeing art has built up its own original realm. Therefore, the purpose of this study lies in pursuing the aesthetic value of dyeing art by shaping the image of nature rhythmically from the movement of natural formation which can be found in the profound dispensation of the nature. For this purpose, first, the relationships between nature and arts, the trans formation of nature, and the rhythmical expression were studied as the theoretical backgrounds, then the research on the expression materials, methods, and techniques for the purpose of creating works of art was made. In the process of producing and analyzing the works on the basis of this theoretical backgrounds, I came to the following conclusions. First, the nature is the origin of a beauty and the mother-body of arts, which furnishes the artists boundless materials for the works. The artists shape the nature into something new-born not by dint of simple depiction or revival of the nature, but by dint of transformation of it through their own subjective point of view and aesthetic experiences. Second, in the process of shaping the image of the nature according to this researcher's own subject, the orderly movement of water and trees, etc. has been considered a proper material for the rhythmical expression of nature. Third, the rhythm of natural phenomena could be expressed effectively by the method of the gradation and repetition depending on the characteristics of paraffin and on the shading of colors. As a whole, there remains a regret that I couldn't express the image of nature more actively by putting the dyeing materials and techniques to practical use. With this study as a momentum, I will not only continue the plastic activities for accomplishing the aesthetic purpose, but also develop the dyeing work into even the living art which can be applied to practical living. And I will exert my best efforts to build up my own creative realm of dyeing art through the continuous study on dyeing materials and expression methods.
