아르누보양식을 응용한 복식디자인 연구

Abstract

예술양식에 있어서 근세저인 성격에서 현대로의 이행 과정을 수행했던 아르누보는 19세기말에서 20세기초에 걸쳐 대단히 번성했던 장식예술이다. 아르누보는 영국의 미술·공예운동에서 그 시효를 찾을 수 있으며 상징주의 미학을 도입하여 예술의 통합 및 종합디자인을 추구하였다. 아르누보양식의 특징으로는 지극히 강조된 장식성을 들 수 있으며 주로 자연물에서 소재를 취해 이를 유기적으로 구성했다. 전통적인 형식미를 벗어나 보다 자유롭게 생동하는 새로운 감각미는 근본적으로 힘과 생명력이 충만한 유기적인 선에 그 장식적 가치를 둔다. 본 연구는 아르누보에 대한 이론적 배경으로 아르누보의 개념 및 형성과정에 대해 알아보고 아르누보양식의 조형작품을 통하여 그 양식의 특성을 고찰하였으며 이를 응용한 8점의 작품을 제작하여 조형적 측면을 강조한 복식예술로의 접근을 시도하였다. 작품은 실물 제작 6점과 2점의 일러스트레이션으로, 아르누보의 다양한 특성중 특히 유기적인 곡선과 꽃 등 여성적인 모티브를 응용하여 대상에서 느낀 심상을 시각적으로 형상화하고자 하였다. 소재는 마직물과 공단, 노방, 광택있는 합성섬유, 인조보석, 비즈, 가죽, 테이프 등을 사용하였다. 표현방법에 있어서 꽃은 구체적인 사실적 묘사보다는 양식화된 형태로 솜을 넣어 입체적으로 표현하였고, 유기적인 곡선은 아플리케 패치워크(applique´ patchwork)를 하였다. 본 논문은 아르누보양식을 현대복식에 응용함으로써 양식의 이해를 깊게하고 조형적인 재구성을 통해 다양한 복식디자인 개발의 가능성을 제시한 점에 의의가 있다고 보겠다.;Art nouveau has played an important role in the contribution of a link between the Neo-modernism and the Modernism. From the end of the 19th century to the early 20th century, a new movement in Art, called "Art Nouveau," entrenched itself as a prosperous decorative art. Art Nouveau movement had originated from the England's "Art and Craft Movement," and adapted the symbolic aesthetic to achieve the unification of art and multi-medium design. The main characteristic of art nouveau style is the emphasis on the decorativeness, which is expressed as sensuous curvillinear shapings, mostly derived from natural objects. The decorative value of Art Nouveau lies in the powerful and live curved lines, which portrayes uniquely sensuous style. I have made careful researches on the theoretical background of Art Nouveau, and studied its characteristics from the actual examples. Then I have produced eight pieces of designs utilizing Art Nouveau styles. There are six pieces of actual costume designs and two pieces of illustrations, in which I have attempted to visualize what I felt from the objects by using feminine motives such as art nouveau's floral and organic curves. The medium for the designs includes linen, satin, synthetic fabrics, imitation jewelry, beads, leather, and tapes. In order to achieve the three dimentional effects, I have used cotton for the floral patterns; and I have used also applique´ and patchwork techniques in the linear patterns. Finally, the thesis is intended to give clearer understanding of art nouveau by adapting it in the current fashion and presented the possibility of various fashion design developments through a formative reorganization.
