Abstract
明器는 繼世思想의 表象物로 그 時代의 文化와 藝術을 대변하는 造形物 中의 하나이다. 이러한 明器의 形態를 통해서 當時의 造形美와 生活狀態를 엿 볼 수 있는 동시에, 內在된 意味를 통해서 그들의 內面的인 精神世界까지도 觀照해 볼 수 있는 것으로, 本論文에서는 이러한 明器 中 신라, 가야를 중심으로 그 形態와 意味를 考察 하였다. 제 Ⅱ장에서는 인류가 屍體를 埋葬하게 된 舊石器時代 中期부터 近代에 이르기까지 明器가 繼世思想과 연관되어 지는 과정인 明器의 變遷, 語源, 材料, 造形的인 성격 등 明器의 일반적인 考察을, 제 Ⅲ장에서는 표현형식에 따라 분류된 人物, 動物, 物體, 器形 明器를 세분하여 각 明器에 표현된 形態와 內在된 意味에 대해 考察하였다. 이러한 연구의 결과를 제 Ⅳ장에서는 明器의 자연스런 造形美와 繼世思想의 表象物로 그 形態와 意味를 종합하는 동시에 表現樣式을 여러 방향에서 考察하였고, 제 Ⅴ장에서는 본 연구의 전 과정을 통하여 얻어진 新羅와 伽倻 明器는, 精神的이며 靈的인 象徵物인 동시에 자연스런 造形美를 나타내어 한국 傳統美의 根源이 되었음을 연결시켜 결론지었다.;Myong-ki is representation about succession of ideas throughout generations, one of the modelings which speak culture and art of that epoch. We can observe not only modeling beauty and living conditions of that time but internal spiritual life through implicated meaning, so this dissertation deals with Myong-ki, especially those of Silla and Kaya Dynasty Period. In chapter Ⅱ, A general study of Myong-ki was made which involved etymology of a word, transition, material, modeling character and so on. The period investigated was from the middle paleolithic age when human beings could bury a corpse to modern age, the periods that Myong-ki began to be connected with the representation about succession of ideas throughout generations. In chapter Ⅲ Collected materials were divided into Man-shaped, Animal-shaped, Plate-shaped, Object-shaped based on a mode of expression and those were investigated representative form and implicated meaning of each Myong-ki. In chapter Ⅳ, Putting these various reports together, a form and meaning as a natural modeling beauty and the representation about succession of ideas were synthesized and expression mode was studied from various aspects at the same time. And finally, In chapter Ⅴ, Myong-ki of Silla and Kaya dynasties through the whole process of this study were concluded as the roots of Korean traditional beauty because these were spiritual and symbolic, represented the natural beauty of modeling at the same time.
