굽장식 容器의 개발에 관한 硏究

Abstract

粘土製 용기는 유약을 사용하기 이전의 토기에서부터 近世의 초경질자기에 이르기까지 광범위하게 사용되어온 生活容器이다. 인류문화의 발전과 시대의 변천에 따라 생활습관도 발달 변모하게 되며 우리의 일상생활에 사용되고 있는 容器의 종류와 형태도 實用性과 美的인 요소가 가미되어 다양한 형태로 발전되어 왔다. 이러한 生活容器는 문화와 科學의 발달과 생활이 풍요로와짐에 따라 단순히 내용물을 담는 도구로만이 아니라 主生活 공간의 美的인 要素로서 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 이러한 점에서 본 연구에서는 수 많은 생활용기 중에서도 굽의 조형성이 강조된 용기를 연구하여 굽이 단지 容器를 받쳐주는 기능적 요소로서 뿐 아니라 용기의 조형적 측면에서 상당부분을 차지하여 장식적 요소를 띠고 있는 형태의 그릇으로 이제까지는 대부분이 생활 용기 보다는 神과 祖上에게 경의를 표하는 의식 용기로서 많이 사용되어 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 굽 장식 용기를 일반식탁에 대중화함으로써 식탁을 비롯하여 그것이 놓여지는 공간에 품위를 더해줄 뿐만 아니라 굽장식 용기에서 느낄 수 있는 우리의 옛 土俗的인 멋이 현대인의 미적욕구를 충족시키기에 충분한 것이라 사료되어 이의 개발을 통한 실용의 가능성을 제시하고자 한다. 특히 시장조사를 통하여 굽장식용기에 대한 대중성과 디자인 현황 등을 파악하여 개발의 타당성을 제시하고자 하였다. 따라서 역사적 고찰을 통하여 우리의 생활풍속과 그에 따른 굽장식용기의 발달과정을 알아보고 이를 토대로 현대 생활공간에 맞는 기능과 미관을 살린 시작품을 제시하고자 하였다. 試作品은 전통적 형태를 바탕으로 하여 현대생활과 현대인의 미적 감각에 부응할 수 있도록 디자인하여 각 형태에 따라 물레성형과 석고사용형에 의한 압축성형 및 판작업등으로 하였다. 문양은 상감이나 투각 또는 색소지혼합, 조각 등으로 표현했고 시유시는 담금법과 분무법에 의한 유약효과 등을 통하여 작품의 조형성과 색채의 아름다움을 찾고자 하였다. 굽의 부착에 따른 대량생산성의 결여와 소성상의 불합리성 등 다소 제작공정상 어려움은 따르나 고전적 의식 용기로서의 기능위주 형태에서 벗어나 현대생활 공간을 장식하며 다양한 용도로 사용될 수 있는 시각적 효용성을 지녀야 일반 대중에게 널리 보급될 수 있다고 본다.;Clay-made receptacles are the living instruments which have been used extensively from earthenware prior to the use of milky liquid to ultrahard porcelain in modern times. With the progress of mankind civilization and the change of times, living practice has been likewise developed and transfigured, and thus, the kinds and the forms of receptacles which are used in our daily life have been also developed in diversified forms added with utility and aesthetic elements. These receptacles for living, as the progress of culture and science as well as affluent life would be seen in recent times, are not merely the instruments to contain contents but play a vital role as the aesthetic element of main living space above all. From this point of view in this study, an emphasis has been focused on the receptacles with prop stand among a number of living receptacles. They would play not only as a functional element to support the crooked pot but also exhibit a decorative element as they occupy a considerable portion in the formative element of the receptacles. Although they have been widely used as the ceremonial receptacles to pay a respect to God and ancestors rather than utilizing as the living receptacles up to the present, with the popularization of such crooked receptacles, they would enhance not only elegance but are deemed as sufficient to meet the aesthetic desire of the moderns together with the zest of folk customs that could have been seen in our antique things. Therefore, it is suggested that possible utilities would present through these developments in the current times. In this context, through a historical observation, on the basis of our living customs and its related process of development for the crooked receptacles, a series of attempts are desired to manufacture the trial articles to enrich the function and aesthetic view that may suit to the space of modern life. In particular, through the market study and the subsequent quentionnaires' survey, the feasibility of its development is attempted to present here with seizing the popularity and the current status of design related to the crooked receptacles. The trial products were utilized with a spinning wheel formmand a plastered shape to be able to suit to the space of modern life based on the traditional forms. Therefore, in case of making a spinning wheel form, with mixing the making of milky color and the mutually-related making, the formativeness and the beauty of color through the effect of glaze by soaking technique and spray method would be attempted to seek a final finishing at the time of developing color image using a natural cosmetic furnace.
