꽃의 형태를 응용한 도자용기 개발연구

Abstract

인류의 역사가 발전해오면서 인간은 자연과 함께 생활하고 자연을 통해 무수히 많은 것들을 이루어냈다. 예술 또한 자연과 더불어 시작되었으며, 이러한 인간과 자연간의 필연성은 조형예술에 무한한 소재를 제공해 주었다. 자연은 우리에게 삶의 기반을 마련해 주고, 아름다움을 느낄 수 있게 하며, 시대가 변하여 21세기에 이르기까지 끊임없는 예술적 영감과 창작욕구를 불러일으킨다. 자연의 일부인 꽃은 구속되어져 있지 않은 생명력과 함께 자유분방함 속에서도 신비로운 질서와 조화를 지닌 존재이며, 인간의 일상속에서 기쁨과 여유를 제공한다. 사회의 발전과 더불어 풍요로운 생활속의 현대인들에게 대량생산으로 인한 획일성과 기능성을 강조하는 것이 최근 디자인의 특징이라고 할 수 있다. 이에 반해 소규모로 제작되는 수공예품은 생활속에서의 아름다움뿐만 아니라 빠쁜 일상에서의 여유로움, 크고 작은 즐거움, 그리고 편안함을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 형태를 지닌 꽃이라는 소재를 응용하여 꽃의 편안함과 생명력을 주관적으로 조형화하여 우리 주위에서 좀 더 가까이 접할 수 있고 생활의 활력과 아름다움을 제공하는 수공예품을 제작함으로써 미의 탐구 및 창조라는 예술의 궁극적 목적을 달성하고 개인의 이상을 추구하는 용기를 제작하여 현대인들의 개성과 감성을 충족시켜 줄 수 있는 길을 모색하고자 한다. 이러한 연구를 위해 일생활의 실용성과 사람들의 심미적 욕구를 충족시켜주는 공예 및 예술의 의미를 이론적 배경으로 하여 자연이 예술에 미치는 영향과 자연과 예술의 상호관계에 대해 살펴보았고, 생활속에서의 공예의 의미에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한 꽃의 조형성을 통해 꽃의 특징과 야생화의 의미에 대하여 연구하였고, 그 예로 꽃을 주제로 한 다양한 도자 작품을 알아보았다. 디자인 과정에서는 야생들꽃들의 여러 가지 형태를 새롭고 주관적인 시각으로 바라보고자 하였으며, 특히 완만하면서도 부드러운 곡선 표현에 중점을 두었다. 또한 실용성도 중시하는 이의 개성과 의지에 따른 공간연출을 위해 뚜껑을 포함시킴으로써 합의 형태를 지닌 다용도 용기 제작을 시도하였다. 작품 제작시 꽃의 부드러운 곡선이 주는 느낌과 형태의 정밀성을 부각시키고 반복제작을 용이하게 하기 위해 석고틀을 이용한 이장주입 성형을 하였다. 태토는 성형과 백색도가 뛰어난 자기질 점토를 사용하였고, 다양한 색과 표면장식을 위해 색안료와 오트밀을 혼합하여 사용하기도 하였다. 시유는 조형적 형태에 따라 음영을 주기위해 스프레이를 사용하여 시유하거나 태토의 색을 강조하기 위해 투명유를 사용하기도 하였다. 외부를 시유하지 않은 작품은 기능적인 면을 고려하여 용기의 내부를 투명유로 시유하였다. 소성은 0.3㎥ 전기가마에서 8시간 동안 최고온도 810℃에서 1차 소성한 후 시유하여 12시간 동안 최고온도 1250℃로 2차 산화소성을 실시하였다. 작품에 따라 꽃의 형태와 색상이 지니는 섬세하고 미묘한 변화를 효과적으로 표현하기 위해 수금과 백금을 사용해 마침온도 800℃로 8시간 동안 3차 소성하여 완성하였다. 본 연구에서 꽃은 연구자의 상상력과 조형의식을 표현하는데 적절한 소재가 되었고, 야생화가 지닌 다양한 조형미와 영원한 야생의 아름다움을 본 연구를 통해 감지할 수 있었다. 또한 우리가 항상 접하고 있는 자연에 대해 더욱 세심한 관심을 가지고 창조적인 표현 작업에 주력한다면 동일한 대상을 소재로 한 작품들이 서로 다른 의미를 지닐 수 있다는 것을 연구 결과 알게 되었다. 단순히 쓰임이라는 목적을 지닌 공예품도 생활의 기쁨과 행복을 줄 수 있다는 점에서 실용성과 장식성을 겸비한 도자기의 필요성이 인식되어 기계화와 이성적인 면이 강조되어 가는 현대인들의 생활속에서 공예가 더욱 친근한 존재가 되고 더 많은 가치를 부여받을 수 있도록 많은 연구가 계속되길 기대한다.;Nature is the source of every object in the world. From the very beginning of our existence on earth, we have achieved the vast majority of accomplishments from deep involvement with nature. It is also true for the origin of art. The inevitable interrelations between nature and human beings have generated infinite source of aesthetic inspiration. On the top of forming a basis for human life, nature has enabled us to enjoy the aspects of beauty in our life and continuously created urge to express our inner imagination aesthetically. Still in this twentieth-first century, nature serves as our foundation and strength for our existence on this earth. At modernization of our society, design art are best characterized by uniformity and functional qualities of mass-produced wares. But handicrafts manufactured in small quantities are exceptional. They have a very humble and precious quality because they are made with care and attention unlike mass-produced wares. This unique quality of handicrafts is what made it possible to fill ourselves up with latitude of our mind, a diversity of joyfulness out of our life, and other comforts. The study was intended to obtain and test measures to enrich emotion and individual traits of people in modern society, and in order to achieve this purpose, flowers, according to subjective standards, have been chosen and incorporated in handicraft manufacturing Flowers have mysterious characteristics. They are observant of the rule of order and harmony but contradictorily very unrestricted as seen from their propagation power. In this study and subsequent works, the comfort and propagation power of flower have mainly been imported. As a result, handicrafts were manufactured of more closeness, liveliness, and beauty to our life. The ultimate goal of art, examination and creation of beauty, could be achieved and an ideal of an individual could be pursued at the same time. The study closely examines the influences of nature on an, as well as the reciprocal relationship between nature and art. and speculates how art can simultaneously satisfy one's aesthetic desire and practicality of manufactures as well. In addition, research was conducted on the characteristics of flowers and the significance of wild flower, by reviewing the types of floral form, and as a part of the research, several craft works with their source themes on a flower were examined. The designing process included to examine every aspect of wild flowers in the creative and subjective view point, and particularly artistic presentation of the soft floral curves was emphasized. Also, to satisfy pursuers of functional qualities, multi-purpose clay pieces with tops added on them have been manufactured for space utilization, reflecting the philosophy of synthesis. The pieces have been made implementing the slip-casting method to obtain the soft curves of flowers, present the delicacy of floral forms, and facilitate reproduction. A porcelain clay has been used for its high viscosity and colored slips have been mixed into a grayish-beige glaze for surface decoration with various colors. The glaze was either sprayed or dipped. For the pieces with no glaze on the outsides, the insides glaze for functional purposes has been done using transparent glazes. The work was initially fired in a 0.3㎥ electric kiln for 8 hours at the highest of 810℃, then for another 12 hours at 1250℃. Some had to be fired three times because after the second one gold and white gold enamel were applied onto them to effectively convey the delicate and exquisite of structure and color of flowers. The third firing reached a temperature of 800℃ in 8 hours. A flower was assessed as an appropriate medium of expressing the artistic imagination and sense of formative art over the entire course of study. The wild flower in particular has shown various aspects beauties of its structure and endless wilderness. The prominent appreciation from this study was that creative works with more active and careful observation of our nature can lead to develop and extract various meanings from the same object. Need for craft works with both functional qualities and decorative effects should be realized in consideration of the fact that craft works for functional use can still be designed to provide us with happiness and comfort. A greater number of researches and studies should be conducted so that the industrial art becomes in closer acquaintance with mankinds and receives more precious values in this society where machinism and rationalism are widely accepted and recognized.
