열대어를 모티브로 한 우의 디자인 연구

Abstract

인간의 본능인 미에 대한 추구는 끊임없이 계속되어 온 자기 표현에의 욕구이며, 자연과의 밀접한 관계를 이루고 사는 인간은 자연의 끊임없는 변화와 조화의 섭리 내에서 그 삶을 유지하고 있다. 궁극적으로 인간의 미에 대한 추구는 내적 표출의 한 형태로서 자연의 원초적이고 신비한 생명력을 표현하는 과정에서 각 예술 분야마다 그 소재의 대상이 되어왔다. 이러한 조형의지는 단순한 자연의 모방에서 벗어나 인간 정신의 근원적인 표현활동으로써 인간 내부의 강한 표현 욕구가 가시적으로 표출된 것으로 대상에 대한 예술가의 심상수용에 따라 다양한 양식으로 나타난다. 현대의 조형예술은 대상에 대한 외적인 재현이나 모방에서 벗어나 예술가의 내면세계에 기초한 주관적인 조형언어로 창조적인 조형세계를 추구하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 자연의 형상 가운데 바다 속 열대어 증에서 그 형태나 색감이 특징적인 여덟 종류의 열대어들을 모티브로 하여 열대어의 조형적 아름다움을 연구하고 이를 다양한 방법으로 우의디자인에 접목하여, 반추상과 추상의 이미지로 표현하여 그 예술적 가치를 추구하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 열대어의 화려한 색채와 꼬리, 지느러미, 비늘 등에서 그 조형적 아름다움을 찾고, 이를 변형, 재구성하여 형상화함으로써 예술적 아름다움이 표현된 독창적이고 개성적인 우의디자인의 가능성을 제시하고 그와 아울러 우의디자인의 표현영역을 확대시키는데 그 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법은 우의에 대한 개념의 정의와 변천사 그리고 자연과 조형예술과의 관계를 국내외 관련서적과 문헌, 인터넷을 통하여 고찰하였고, 열대어의 종류와 특성에 관하여 문헌 및 사진자료를 통하여 분석, 연구함으로써 그 조형적 특성을 파악하고 현대 복식에서 어떻게 적용되고 도입되었는지 살펴보았다. 이를 바탕으로 총 8벌의 실물을 제작하였으며, 제작 과정에서 그 표현기법으로는 실크스크린, 디지털 날염, 핸드 페인팅을 통하여 예술적 가치와 조형세계를 표현하고자 하였고, 소재는 고광택의 폴리에스테르 우레탄, 우레탄 소재를 사용하여 열대어의 광택과 표면의 매끈한 질감을 표현해 주고자 하였으며. 인간공학적 신소재인 고어텍스를 사용하여 기능적이고 실용적인 우의디자인의 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연은 늘 변화하는 가운데 우리들에게 무궁무진한 소재를 제공해주고 있으며, 자연을 소재로 한 모티브는 무한한 표현의 가능성을 가지고 있음을 확인 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 인간의 창의적 욕구는 자연을 기초로 한 다양한 조형예술을 창출해 내고 있으며, 자연은 인간의 복식에 있어서도 조형적 혹은 미적으로 창작에 많은 영향을 주었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 자연의 다양한 소재 중에서도 화려한 색상과 조형적 아름다움을 가진 열대어라는 특정 모티브의 꼬리, 지느러미, 비늘 등에서의 색채와 형상을 가지고 다양하게 접근하였고, 생략, 단순화, 과장, 재구성 등의 변형을 통하여 반추상, 추상의 이미지로 형상화하여 우의디자인의 독창성과 예술성올 표현하고자 하였다. 넷째, 실용적인 의상이라는 우의에 대한 고정된 유형에서 탈피하여 실크스크린, 디지털 날염이라는 다양한 프린트 기법과 핸드 페인팅을 통하여 예술성이 가미된 고부가가치의 독창적인 우의디자인의 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 다섯째, 인간공학적 구성의 신소재인 고어텍스, 우레탄 코팅된 신소재인 폴리에스테르 우레란(P.U), 우레탄과 같은 새로운 소재를 사용함으로서 소재에 대한 다양한 가능성을 경험해 볼 수가 있었다. 위와 같은 결론을 바탕으로 다양한 우의디자인의 가능성과 프린트 기법을 통한 예술적 가치 추구와 창의적인 표현기법의 영역의 확대를 기대한다.;The human desires for ceation produce various formative arts with the motif of the nature which affects greatly creation of human clothes in the formative or aesthetic aspect. The various approaches with the creation motif, I expressed the originality and the artistic value by figuring abstract images through modification including recomposition. For that reason, this study tries to suggest raincoat design with creative and functional beauty as well as freedom of action in rainy weather for the moderns who have a wider radius of activity. The modern fashion industry concentrates its focus on finding new designs in order to satisfy the desire of the moderns who want characteristic and original designs. The modern fashion expresses the moderns' sense of value and pursues freedom and non-standardization, as means to express inner desires and aesthetic senses of human beings. In particular, study and development of creative print design are connected directly with artistic fashion design as a higher value-added business, and as a part of that, creative techniques such as the hand print technique are applied. This study produced total eight suits of real clothes with semi-abstract and abstract images by studying formative beauty of tropical fishes, with the motif of tropical fishes by means of various approaches. The results of this study are as follows; First, I could expand the expressible area of the modern clothes by studying raincoat designs which applied the concept of multifunctional clothes with functional and creative beauty. Second, I could find that human desires for creation produce various formative arts with the motif of the nature which affects greatly creation of human clothes in the formative or aesthetic aspect. Third, I performed various approaches with the certain motif, tropical fishes of many materials of nature, and expressed the originality and the artistic value by figuring semi-abstract and abstract images through modifications including omission, simplification, exaggeration and recomposition. Fourth, I found a great potential of the field of higher value-added original raincoat designs added with artistic value, from various print techniques such as silk-screen or digital- print technique and hand painting. Fifth, I suggested various potentialities of the materials by using new materials such as new material with ergonomic configuration, high-tech Urethane-coating material, high- technology material. Based on the above results, pursuit of the artistic value and the expanded area of creative expressing techniques ate expected through potentialities of various raincoat designs and print techniques.
