광물의 조형성을 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

자연과 인간과의 질서와 조화를 창조적으로 표현하려는 의도는 예술에 있어서 과거부터 현재에 이르기까지 변함없이 계속되어 온 인간의 미적 욕구이다. 자연의 섭리 안에서 생겨나고 존재하는 인간은 자연의 끊임없는 변화와 생성, 소멸 속에서 미의식을 갖게 되고 예술이란 형식으로 다양한 장르의 조형작업을 하게 된 것이다. 이러한 조형의지는 단순한 자연의 모방과 변형의 단계에서 발전하여 자연의 관찰과 탐구, 인간의 미의식을 통하여 독자성을 추구하는 예술로 발전하기에 이르렀고 이는 객관적 자연과 주관적 인간의지가 조화되어 새로운 이미지 창출하고 감동을 주게 됨을 의미한다. 자연의 원초적이고 신비한 생명력은 예술적 영감이 되고, 잘 알려지지 않은 자연의 모습을 하고 있는 광물은 이러한 자연의 영감을 불러일으키기에 충분하였다. 이에 본 연구는 광물의 다양한 조형성에서 광물만이 가지는 독특한 형태와 색채를 발견하여 작품의 모티브로 사용하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 광물의 형태 중에서 독특한 모티브를 선택하여 독자적인 조형세계를 추구하며 자연미와 복식과의 조화에 중점을 두고 창의적 질감 표현 방법을 모색하여 도입함으로써 의상디자인의 표현영역을 확대, 발전시키는데 있다. 본 연구의 방법 및 범위는 자연과 조형원리, 조형예술과의 관계를 문헌과 사진자료를 통하여 고찰하고, 광물의 종류와 특성에 관하여 문헌 및 사진자료를 통하여 분석, 연구함으로서 그 조형적 특성을 파악하고 현대 디자인에 있어서의 활용의 예를 살펴보았다. 이러한 이론을 바탕으로 총 8점의 작품을 제작하였으며, 광물의 형태를 변형, 재구성하는 과정에서 반복, 점진, 율동, 대비, 강조, 통일, 조화 등의 조형원리와 조화시켜 독자적인 조형활동을 표현하는데 그 의의를 두고 있다. 제작 과정에서 광물의 이미지 표현 방법으로 염색, 비딩, 패딩, 기계주름, 파이핑 등의 적합한 표현기법을 통하여 수공예적이면서 장식적인 효과를 추구하였고, 수직실크, 실크노방 등의 염색이 용이한 자연소재의 사용을 통하여 광물의 고유색채를 표현하여 자연미를 더 해주었다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연이 가지는 신비하고 아름다운 조형적 세계와 이를 통해 얻을 수 있는 디자인모티브로서의 자연의 무한한 가능성을 알고, 그 중 광물의 조형적 형태 속에서 의상디자인의 모티브로서 표현가능한 요소를 선택하여 변형, 재구성함으로써 광물의 조형미는 디자인의 소재로서 발전 가능성을 지녔음을 알 수 있었다. 자연을 소재로 한 디자인은 단순한 외적 형태의 표방에서 그치는 것이 아니라 예술가의 조형의지가 개입되어 새로운 자연 형태로 재창조되고 그럼으로써 더 발전된 미적 가치를 가지게 됨을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 자연을 모티브로 하는 조형활동은 그 접근방식이나 해석 방법에 따라 달라질 수 있으며 미적 가치를 지닌 작품이 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 환경파괴 문제, 인간소외와 순수성 상실이 대두되는 현대사회에서 인간은 더욱 자연회귀를 추구하고 이에 자연을 모티브로 한 의상 디자인은 자연의 미를 전달하는 중요한 전달매체가 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 작품에 사용한 염색, 패딩, 비딩, 기계주름, 파이핑 등 다양한 수공예적 표현기법은 재질감과 입체감등 광물의 독특한 조형성을 표현하기에 적합하였고, 수직실크, 실크 노방 등의 소재는 염색이 용이하여 광물의 풍부한 색감을 표현하기에 적합함과 동시에 고급스러우면서도 가볍고 투명성의 표현이 가능하여 광물의 질감표현에 적합한 복식소재임을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 의상에 도입할 수 있는 모티브와 기법의 다양화는 조형적 표현의 영역을 확장시키고 의상에 있어 실용성과 예술성을 결합시킬 수 있는 초석이 될 수 있다. 또한, 자연형태의 변화와 재조합에 있어서 자연과 의상과 인간의 조화에 중점을 두며, 기능과 물질의 차원의 의상에서 발전하여 창조적 조형활동으로서의 신개념의 의상디자인으로서 미래지향적인 발전가능성을 보여주고자 하는 것이다.;An aim of expressing order and harmony of nature and man creatively is man's aesthetic desire continued since the past until the present constantly in arts. Man existing under the law of nature possessed aesthetic sense in the middle of endless changes and creation and extinction, expressed formative work of the various genre in the form of art. In connection with describing such nature and man's urge for aesthetic expression did not stop at simple imitation and transformation of nature but was extended to continuous observation, research of nature and man's aesthetic sense in the quest of art pursuing individuality, it mean impression and creation of new image in the harmony of objective nature and subjective man-will. Primordial, mysterious vitality of nature became artistic inspiration, minerals being unknown is enough to arouse this natural inspiration. Thus after discovering structural characteristics and colors in the various features of minerals, this writer came to possess urge for creative work. The purpose of this study is to draw out unique motif, to pursue individuality, to extend and to develope field of expression of fashion design by groping expression-way of creative texture with laying emphasis on harmony of natural beauty and costume. The Scope and method of this study was studied from available literatures and analysis of pictorial data collected by studying a connection of nature and the formative principle and the features arts, and were researched with available literature and analysis of pictorial data collected about types and characteristics of minerals, and was to observe examples of application in modem design. Based on above totally 8pieces of works have been completed and significance of the works is attempt to express individual aesthetic work by harmony with formative principle of repetition, gradation, rhythm, contrast, emphasis, harmony, unity etc. in the process of transformation, reorganization of forms of minerals. In the producing process it was used dyeing, beading, padding, pleats, piping etc. for image expression of minerals, pursued handicraft technique and decorative effect, added natural beauty by expression of minerals' unique colors through using natural material to dye easy. Conclusions reached through such research are as follows. First, mysterious, beautiful, aesthetic forms and infinite motif of nature can develop fashion design to formative art of original creativity. And, by transformation, reformation of motif available to fashion design in the formative form of minerals. it was learned that aesthetic forms of minerals have infinitive possibility by materials of design. Second, it was learned aesthetic work based on nature will be changed as an way of access and analysis, will be a work of art. Third, in the modern times raising its head of environment-destruction and huminity-alienation man seek after nature more and more, fashion design motified of nature can be an important medium serving beauty of the nature. Fourth, various handicraft techniques of dyeing, padding, deading, pleats, piping etc. using in works are suitable to unique forms of minerals of texture, cubic effect etc. It was learned that silk material is suitable to express rich colors by dyeing easy, to express high-grade, light, transparency minerals at once, thus it is suitable clothing material to expression of minerals. Therefore variety of motif and technique in costume will expand field of aesthetic expression, will be foundation stone to combine practicality into arts. And this study laid emphasis in harmony of naturals and costume and man in change and reformation of natural forms, will show future intentioned development-possibility by new-concept fashion design that developed to creative aesthetic work through clothes of dimension of capacity and substance.
