프레이밍에 의한 신체의 영상적 변형에 관한 연구

Abstract

인간은 신체에 대하여 폭넓은 관심을 갖고 있었고, 그 관심은 지속적이고 구체적이라 할 수 있다. 이것은 인류가 사라지지 않는 한 계속 되어질 주제이다. 또한 인간 신체에 대한 관심의 변화와 같이 사진은 눈에 보이는 현실에 초점을 맞추는 기계적인 기록에서 금세기 초에 나타난 초현실주의의 등장이후부터 현재까지 가장 활발한 사진적 표현대상이 되고 있다. 동물뿐 아니라 생물이라면 모두가 움직임이라는 것이 있다. 우리는 이러한 움직임을 무의식중에 매 시각마다 내부적으로 경험하게 된다. 생물이라면 정적인 존재가 아닌 것이다. 그 중에서도 인간신체는 다양한 움직임에 의해 비로소 의미를 전달한다. 인간의 움직임 즉, 동작에 대한 관심은 현실의 재현이라는 기계적인 관점에서 인간심리의 반영으로 변화되어 왔다. 대상에게 느껴지는 친근함을 단편적 시각으로 형상화해 사진상으로 표현되었을 때의 신체의 형태에서 오는 느낌이 의외적으로 표현될 수 있을까라는 생각이 이 연구의 시발점이다. 기법으로는 광범위한 주변으로부터 대상을 집중할 수 있도록 하는 방법으로 단편화(fragmentation)를 사용하였고, 20세기 신체를 위주로 활동한 작가의 부류 중 윤곽이나 형태, 추상성을 강조하는 기하학구조를 만들어 내는 사진을 본 연구의 토대로 삼는다. 형태의 리듬과 조화를 강조하기 위해서 세밀한 묘사는 억제하였다. 마지막으로 위의 기법으로 얻어진 사진에 은을 깎아내는 표백 과정을 거쳐 동 판화에서 볼 수 있는 회화적 효과를 본다. 효과를 극대화하기 위한 표백과정은 흑색으로만 존재하는 순수한 사진에 색, 입자, 콘트라스트, 계조 등의 변화를 일으킨다. 색은 붉게, 입자는 크게, 콘트라스트는 강하게, 계조는 좁게 변화시켜 순수한 사진보다 환상적이고 몽환적인 효과를 추구하였다. 따라서 연구자는 과감한 프레임의 구사로 신체가 가지고 있는 추상적 이미지를 시각화하려고 이 모든 사진적 기법을 사용하였다.;Man's concern for his body is sustaining and concrete. The human body has no meaning until it makes certain movements. Concern for the movement has changed from a mechanical representation of the realities to a psychological reflection of human mind. So has been the object of photography. Sine surrealism appeared, in-depth significance has been the most frequent object of photographical expression to the present. The purpose of this study is to deepen, expand and develop the expressional possibilities of photography more than they are by understanding the in-depth meaning of the phenomena being derived from reality. In this study, movements of each parts of human body except the face are chosen as a chief object of photography. To catch the images of the object in various ways and to have a broad range of object, fragmenting by frame was adopted and close shot was taken to gain desirable fragmentary effects. Some of the photo artists who mainly dealt with the human body in the 20th century pursued fragmentary shapes or abstractiveness through fragmenting and suppressed detailed description to emphasize the rhythm and balance of the object. The author of this study adopted add up more clothes for the varions image. And the object's dynamic traces were sought to gain preferable abstractiveness. Finally, photos attained from these methods were processed with the silver bleaching technique to have the pictorial quality of the copperplate print. Bleaching process changes the color, the particle, the contrast and the gradation of the original black and white photo. The author of this study searched for those effects more illusionary and more dreamlike than the original by changing the color warmer, the particle larger, the contrast stronger and the gradation narrower.
