조르쥬 브라크의 회화를 응용한 니트웨어 디자인연구

Abstract

오늘날의 현대의상은 소비자들의 새로운 감각과 요구로 예측하기 어려운 급격한 변화속에서 다양한 표현방법으로 차별화, 고급화되어가고 있다. 소니아 들로네이, 뒤픠, 스키아빠렐리등의 예술가들은 일찍이 예술과 패션사이에 깊은 연관성이 있음을 깨닫고 패션에 대해 깊은 관심을 기울였다. 또한 레저와 스포츠의 웰빙시대가 도래함에 따라 미래의 의상으로 신축성이 있는 활동적이고 편안한 니트웨어를 선호하게 되었다. 니트웨어는 현재의 소비자들의 라이프스타일에 적합하며 사용되는 원사나 색상, 조직의 변화, 다양한 기법등의 사용에 따라 개성과 고급화를 연출하는 디자인을 개발할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기존 회화의 정형성을 깨고 추상미술의 형태를 확립한 브라크의 예술작품을 조형적으로 분석하고, 독특한 조형적 특성들을 의상디자인에 응용함에 있어 회화적 요소를 잘 나타낼 수 있는 인타샤기법을 사용하였다. 이를 통하여 예술성과 기능성을 갖춘 고부가가치를 지닌 새로운 디자인의 니트웨어를 제안하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법은 다음과 같다. 브라크의 예술세계를 문헌조사를 토대로 입체주의시기와 개인적 발전의 시기로 나누었다. 우선 입체주의 시기에는 입체주의에 대한 자료를 통해 고찰하였고, 그 후의 개인적인 발전의 시기는 브라크 작품집을 중심으로 작품연구의 전체적임 흐름을 파악하는데 중점을 두었다. 또한 브라크회화의 조형적인 특성들을 공간성과 형태에 관한 연구, 부조적 질감의 파피에콜레 기법, 모던한 색채를 중심으로 분석하였다. 다음으로 회화 작품을 도입한 의상디자인을 시대별로 연구 고찰함으로써 회화가 가지는 조형적인 요소들이 디자이너의 의상에서 어떻게 표현되었는지를 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 작품을 효과적으로 표현하고 독창적인 니트디자인의 개발을 위해 인타샤기법을 사용하였고 인타샤기법의 전반적인 정의, 편직방법를 토대로 정리하고 분석하였다. 이와 같은 이론적배경을 토대로, 브라크회화를 선정, 재구성하여 브라크회화의 조형적 특성을 의상디자인에 도입하여 8벌의 작품을 제작하였다. 이상의 연구에서 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 브라크 작품의 전체적인 흐름을 파악할 수 있었고 브라크의 생애 80년동안 남긴 수많은 작품에서 다양한 모티브를 발견 할 수 있었다. 또한 브라크작품에서 나타난 다양한 색채들과 형태에 관한 연구등의 조형적인 특성들은 의상디자인의 소재로써 무한한 가능성을 지니고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 니트의 인타샤기법은 다양한 원사로 자유로운 형태의 문양을 편직할 수 있으므로 회화적인 이미지를 의상으로 표현하기에 적합하였다. 많은 색채가 사용됨에도 불구하고 자카드기법과 달리 원단의 두께가 두꺼워지지 않으므로 예술적이며 기능적인 현대 패션의 소재로 적합하였다. 셋째, 기존의 인타샤기법으로 편직된 원단들은 일련의 원사로만 편직을 하여 단조로운 느낌이 든다. 하지만 본 연구에서는 브라크 회화의 파피에 콜레, 스텐실기법에 의한 재질감을 인타샤기법으로 표현하기 위하여 다양한 텍스쳐사를 사용하여 반투명한 느낌, 이질적인 재질감을 부여하였다. 또한 부가장식으로 니들펀치펠팅, 핸드스티치를 활용함으로서 풍성한 재질감을 표현할 수 있도록 하였다. 이와 같이 본 연구는 브라크 회화의 조형성을 인타샤기법으로 의상디자인에 도입하였다. 패션디자인의 발상적인 면에서 회화는 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 또한, 니트에 있어서 회화를 표현하는 방법인 인타샤기법은 가벼운 소재의 선호, 다양한 칼라의 효과적인 표현이 가능하기 때문에 많이 이용되어지고 있다. 이러한 인타샤기법의 특성을 잘 파악하고 다양한 회화모티브와 접목을 시킨다면 소비자의 요구를 만족시킬 수 있는 기능성과 예술성을 동시에 가진 니트 패션상품을 개발할 수 있을 것이다. 하지만 디자이너의 니트에 대한 전반적인 지식, 효과적인 원사의 적절한 사용, 칼라의 배합등 많은 고도의 기술적인 요소가 필요한 분야이므로 앞으로도 연구, 개발이 지속적으로 이루어져야 한다.;Today's modern dresses are getting differentiated and most elegant as a variety of expression in the midst of rapidly changes which are not easy to anticipate due to consumers' new senses and demands. The artists like Sonia Delaunay, Raoul Dufy and Elsa Schiaparelli realized early that there was a deep relation between art and fashion and paid a keen interest to them. With the advent of well-being period of leisure and sports, knitwear has been popular as a future dress for its elastic function of activity and comfort. Knitwear is just fit to modern consumers' life style and a design that presents characteristics and quality upgrading can be developed by using various techniques and changes of fiber, color, organization. Therefore, this research broke the existing standardization of paintings and analyzed figuratively the works of Georges Braque, used intarsia techniques which display well figurative elements in applying peculiar figurative functions to dress designing. Through this, the purpose of this research is to propose higher value-added knitwear of new design with artistry and functionality. The contents and methodology of this research are as follow. We divided the artistic world of Braque into a cubist period and a personal development period based on documents. First we studied about his cubist period through data of Cubism, and about his personal development period, we focused on the general flow of work study based on Braque's works. Furthermore, we analyzed figurative characteristics of Braque pictures according to researches of extensity and configuration, Papier colle techneques of embossed texture, and modern colorings. Next, we studied how figurative elements of paints have been expressed in designers' dresses by studying dress design that adopted painting works according to the period. Finally we used intarsia techniques to develop unique knit design and express works efficiently. We pigeonholed and analyzed a general definition of intarsia techniques based on knitting methods. We selected and reorganized Braque's paintings, and made 8 suits of clothes by applying figurative elements of Braquew's paints to dress design based on theoretical ground. The conclusion of this research is as follow. First, we could figure out the overall flow of Braque's works and discovered diverse motives in a great number of his works for his 80-year life. Also we understood that the figurative characteristics of configuration researches and various colorings expressed in Braque's works could have an indefinite possibility to be a motive of dress design. Second, as intarsia technique can knit a wide range of patterns with various fibers, it was suitable to express figurative images by clothes. In spite of using many colors, unlike jacquard technique, fabrics do not thicken, so it was a good material for artistic and functional modern fashion. Third, existing knit fabrics by intarsia technique lack diversity because they are knitted with successive fabrics. But in this research, to express the feeling of materials by stencil techniques or papier colle techniques in Braque's paintings, it gave a translucent feeling and heterogeneous feelings of materials by using diverse fibers of textures. As an added decoration, we used needle punching felt,. hand stitch to express rich feeling of materials. Like this, this research introduced the molding of Braque's paintings to dress design by intarsia techniques. Paintings have asignificant meaning in terms of new concepts of fashion design. intarsia techniques are largely used because the preference of light materials, and effective expression of various colors are possible. If we figure well out the characteristics of intarsia techniques and engraft it on diverse motives of painting, it is possible to develop knit fashion goods having artistry as well as functionality which satisfy consumer demands. But this is a field that needs high techniques like designer's general knowledge of knit, proper use of effective fibers, combination of colors and so on, researches and developments should be continued consistently.
