전통떡살문양을 응용한 니트웨어 디자인 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 21세기를 문화의 세기라는 관점에서 볼 때 중요한 자리를 차지하고 있는 한국 패션 산업의 주체성을 찾고자한다. 오늘날 한국 패션 산업의 전통 복식 묵화는 서구적 생활양식의 대중화로 인해 주체 상실의 위기에 놓여있다. 이에 본 논문은 우리 고유의 미의식의 담긴 조선시대 떡살문양을 현대적 감각으로 응용하여 니트웨어를 디자인함으로써 우리 고유의 전통미가 지닌 차별화된 아름다움을 제시하고 이를 통해 실용적이며 창의적인 니트웨어의 가능성을 제시해 보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법으로는 이론적 배경으로서 편물, 즉 니트의 개념과 종류, 실에 대해 조사하고 니트를 소재로 한 현대의상 디자인 사례를 연구하였으며, 전통떡살 문양의 종류와 역사를 문헌자료를 통해 고찰하였다. 또한, 떡살문양의 정의와 종류를 연구하고 이를 토대로 떡살문양의 사진자료를 표집, 그 특징에 따라 분류하였으며 전통떡살문양을 응용한 현대 의상 디자인 사례를 차례로 조사, 제시하였다. 이렇게 연구 분석한 것을 토대로 조선시대 떡살문양의 조형적인 특성을 응용하여 총 8점의 작품을 제작하였다. 작품들의 제작 기법으로는 조선시대 떡살 문양을 확대·응용하여 한가지 색으로도 조직에 변화를 줄 수 있는 다양한 표현의 가능성이 있는 니트 편기중 컴퓨터 편기를 사용한 자카드 조직으로 제작하였다. 자카드 조직 중 파일(Pile)조직과 블리스터(Blister)조직을 이용하여 소재의 재질감을 느끼게 하여 작품의 독창성과 한층 더 실용화된 의상 디자인이 되도록 노력하였다. 이에 소재는 면사(Cotton yarn)와 실켓(A Silk hat)사를 이용하여 현대적이며 고급스러움을 표현하였고 소재 자체의 질감 대비를 시도함으로써 작품의 조형성을 더욱 강조하려 하였다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전통양식으로서의 떡살 문양은 전통으로 남아있는 과거의 유물이 아니라 형상의 단순성과 그래픽적 특징에 의해 현대적인 조형미를 표현할 수 있는 새로운 아이디어와 디자인의 모티브를 제공해주는 귀중한 자료임을 확인하였다. 둘째, 니트는 의상 형태의 자유로운 표현이 가능하며 동시에 실용적이며 고급스러움도 표현할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 셋째, 파일조직등 독특한 표면효과를 가진 조직기법을 사용함으로써 다양한 표면구조를 갖는 부조적인 풍부한 재질감을 표출시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 특별한 입체적 장식물에 의존하지 않고도 떡살문양을 응용한 자카드 문양자체만으로도 장식효과를 줄 수 있다. 이상의 결과를 통해서 우리 민족 고유의 전통 중 장식적 요소로 알려져 있는 조선시대 떡살문양을 연구·응용하여 니트 의상에 접목시킴으로써 전통문화를 계승 발전시키고자 하였다. 또한, 떡살 문양이라는 장식적 요소를 확대하여 니트의 현대적인 디자인 창조로 발전시켜 의상의 예술성도 향상시킴과 동시에 한국 패션 산업을 국제적으로 알려 더 크게 발전할 수 있는 계기가 되었으면 한다.;This study will search for the independence of Korean fashion industry in cultural perspective at the turn of the 21st century. Today's Korean fashion industry is at the risk of lacking of self-subjectivity direction due to the commodity of western life style. Thus the purpose of this study is that reproduction of Chosun Dynasty rice-cake' s which is inherited from our own an aesthetic sense, in terms of modern style reflect the style of Korean dress. The reproduction of Chosun Dynasty rice-cake' s with distinguished beauty will evaluate the possibility of Korean fashion success in international market. To achieve the purpose of this study the theoretical concepts should followed, First, research and collect data relate to rice-cake' s. Second, having the deep understanding the definition, conception, and history of Chosun Dynasty rice-cake' s. Third, collecting the picture of rice-cake' s based on classification of rice-cake' s and properties of model. Fourth, inquiry cases of modern style-dress applied from rice-cake' s. Based on the above four approaches, total eight pieces of design applied from properties of Chosun Dynasty rice-cake' s model. Computer-knitting technique was used for the design because of high-degree of fashion expression. The implementation of this study are followed, First, rice-cake' s of traditional style should not be remain from the past, but valued as key resource to provide the idea and motivation of new design. Second, creating modern shape of design derived from analysis of Chosun Dynasty rice-cake' s model. Third, suggesting the possibility of new design from modern style-dress that applied from rice-cake' s which is inherited from our own an aesthetic sense. Fourth, providing the potential success of Korean modern design derived from rice-cake' s that inherited from our own an aesthetic sense. Finally, this study can contribute the improvement of Korean fashion industry in global market by appling the our traditional style-dress to the creation of new design todav.
