환경교육을 위한 인터넷 교재 개발

Abstract

본 연구에서는 중등학교 환경교육을 위한 인터넷 활용 교재를 개발하였다. 환경은 끊임없이 변하고 있고 예전에 없던 문제들이 생겨나기도 하고, 기존에 존재하던 문제들이 사라지기도 하기 때문에 환경 문제를 해결하고 교육하기 위해 최근의 정보에 민감하게 반응해야 한다. 또한, 환경 문제는 이제 지역적인 문제뿐만 아니라 국제적인 문제로 발전하는 경향이 있으므로 인터넷을 활용할 경우 문제에 적절한 다양한 자료를 획득할 수 있다. 따라서, 인터넷의 활용은 환경교육을 하기 위한 유용한 방법이라고 할 수 있다. 연구를 위하여 환경교육과 관련된 사이트들을 검색하였고 그것에 기초하여 홈페이지가 제작되었다. 그리고, 홈페이지는 인터넷을 활용하여 환경교육을 할 수 있도록 구성하였고, 이것이 교사들에게 제공될 수 있도록 제작하였다. 학교 환경과목에 포함되는 인구, 공기, 물, 폐기물, 에너지의 주제를 중심으로 환경부와 환경운동연합 웹사이트를 통하여 국내외 자료들을 검색하였다. 그리고, 제 7차 교육과정에서는 학습자들의 활동을 중심으로 환경교육을 실시하기 위해서 다양한 형태의 학습방법이 가능하며, 이를 위해 다양한 시청각 매체나 인터넷을 활용한 교육, 자연 환경이나 현장 답사 교육 등이 제시될 수 있을 것이라고 지적하고 있는 연구 결과도 있다. 따라서, 환경교육에서 인터넷을 활용한 교육이 가능할 수 있도록 인구, 공기, 물, 폐기물, 에너지의 주제로 학습에 이용될 수 있는 자료를 구성하여 제공하였다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 절차를 거쳐서 이루어졌다. 환경부 홈페이지에서 대기, 수질, 폐기물, 에너지에 관한 우리 나라의 현황에 관한 정보를 수집하였다. 그리고, 환경부에서 추천 사이트와 환경운동연합에서 제공하는 환경사이트 정보 중 교육, 대기/산성비/오존층, 수질/해양, 에너지, 재활용, 폐기물을 선택하여 사이트를 검색하였다. 검색된 사이트의 내용을 우리 나라 중등학교의 환경교과 수준과 비교하여 학습자료, 접근방법, 사이트의 안정성 등을 고려하여 선별하였다. 교사들이 직접 학습 상황에서 활용할 수 있도록 교육내용을 정리·개발하여 홈페이지의 내용으로 구성하였다. 그리고, 검색을 통한 사이트는 환경, 인구, 대기, 수질, 폐기물, 에너지 자원으로 분류하여 홈페이지 제작을 위하여 정리되었다. 작성된 교육내용과 사이트 모음을 나모웹에디터 3.0을 이용하여 홈페이지로 만들었다. 홈페이지의 주소는 http://mm.ewha.ac. kr/～eri/jjy.htm이다 교육내용은 '지구와 생명', '신선한 공기', '푸르른 물', '다시 자원으로', '에너지 절약'의 제목으로 정리되었다. 관련 사이트모음은 사이트들을 환경, 인구, 대기, 수질, 폐기물, 에너지 자원으로 분류하였고, 검색된 사이트의 내용과 특징을 소개하면서 사이트들을 하이퍼링크 하여 다양한 정보를 접할 수 있게 하였다. 홈페이지에 대한 문의사항이나 사용 시의 문제점, 요구사항은 E-Mail을 이용하여 보낼 수 있게 하였다. 그러나, 학습자들에게 인터넷을 직접 환경교육의 교재로 활용하여 얻을 수 있는 교육적인 효과를 관찰하지 못하였기 때문에 지속적인 지도와 연구가 필요할 것이다.;The purpose of this study is to develop a teaching material in internet system for the environmental education. Students must understand and respond the current issues in a short period, because the environment may continually change and new environmental issues appeal or perish away. The internet system in the environmental education would be a useful tool to understand the problem, gather a variety of resources and apply to the daily lives which students will face. I searched various web sites developed by the Ministry of Environment and Korean Federation for Environmental Movement. Several useful sites were arranged and selected for the topics and students' level. In this study, an internet system was developed to be utilized for the environmental education. This system will be useful for the environmental education in middle and high school. According to a previous study, the multimedia, the internet or outdoor programs would be useful methods for the environmental education as the 7th curriculum was designed to students centered learning. The developed system is classified in regard to the theme which is mostly focused on the 7th curriculum and divided into five topics: population, air, water, waste and energy. Web site was designed to contain the categorized index, which is useful for teachers in class. The contents of this site are 'the earth and life', 'the fresh air', 'the clean water', 'recycled to the resource' and 'saving the energy'. The system was designed to be hyper linked to other sites when the concerned site is selected and E-Mail was created for them to discuss the problem of the developed system and to transfer their idea. The system was loaded in http://mm.ewha.ac.kr/～eri/jjy.htm. It is hoped that the effectiveness of the developed system will be studying in future through the teaching and learning experience.
