포스트 퓨전스타일의 사상과 조형성에 관한 연구

Abstract

20세기 후반에 이르자 디자인 분야에서는 동,서양을 막론하고 퓨전의 이름으로 동, 서양의 혼합이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이는 디자인에서 몇 가지 핵심적인 패러다임의 변화가 진행되고 있기 때문이다. 글로벌 디자인 개념의 확산과 경제적 패러다임에서 문화적 패러다임으로의 변화는 디자인이 세계인의 입장에서 다양하게 개발 될 것 을 요구하게 되었고, 그에 따라 다양한 문화적 배경으로부터 창출된 문화에 근거한 디자인(Culture Oriented Design)이 추구되었다. 이와 함께 네트워크의 발달로 물리적인 시.공간의 제약이 없어짐에 따라 동서 문화의 융합으로부터 창출된 디자인의 트랜드가 한 주류로 등장한 것이다. 이러한 흐름속에서 민족 본유의 독특한 문화적 특성이 현대 디자인에 얼만큼 투영되어있느냐 하는 것이 문화에 근거한 디자인의 가치를 평가하는 주요 관건이 될 것이다. 이러한 시대적 요구에 따라 본 논문은 디자인 분야에서 우위를 차지하기 위해 자기 정체성 확립과 디자인의 진보를 목표로, 서구 중심적 사고 방식인 오리엔탈리즘(Orientalism)에 뿌리를 두고 서양에서 시작된 퓨전 스타일을 무분별하게 받아들이는 현재의 상황에 대한 비판적 시각에서 출발하였으며, 단순한 두 요소의 합(合)의 개념인 현재의 퓨전디자인(fusion design)의 개념을 한 단계 진화시켜 전혀 상관없는 것 들이 합쳐져 하나가 되지만 두개 모두 뚜렷한 개성을 가지며 그 이상의 시너지(Synergy)를 가져오는 상생(相生)을 뜻하는 포스트 퓨전디자인( Post-fusion design)으로 발전 시키기 위한 연구의 목적을 가지며 다음과 같은 방향으로 본 연구가 진행 되었다. 1. 서구 근대 디자인의 근간이 되는 철학사상 (계몽주의, 프라그마티즘, 실존주의) 2. 한국의 전통 디자인의 배경 사상 (자연주의사상 -음양오행, 풍수, 도참사상-, 선사상, 실학사상) 3. 과거와 현재의 퓨전 디자인 4. 한국 전통 디자인의 조형성 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 한국 전통 가구 중 현대의 디자인에 부합되는 단순하고 실용적인 가구들을 현대적인 재료와 형태로 발전시켜 포스트 퓨전스타일의 가구디자인을 제안 하였다.;In the late 20^(th) century, the field of design saw the East and the West combining actively in the name of fusion regardless of the East and the West, which was due to changes taking place in several important paradigms of design. The expansion of global design concept and changes from economic paradigm to cultural paradigm called for various designs to be developed in the standpoint of cosmopolitan. As a result, culture oriented design, which was formed from various cultural background, was pursued. In addition, restrictions on physical time and space disappeared with the development of network so that the trend of design formed from combining the Eastern and the Western culture could be introduced as one of the mainstream. Therefore, the main key in deciding the value of culture oriented design was determined by to what extent the Unique cultural characteristic of national origin was reflected in modem design. According to the demands of the times, this thesis is aimed at the establishment of self-origin and the improvement of design so that an advantage can be gained in the field of design. It begins with a critical viewpoint of the current situation where fusion style, which started from the West established on the Western-centered thinking called Orientalism, is being accepted indiscreetly. However, the purpose of this study is to take a step further from the current concept of fusion design, which is simply the combination of two elements, so that post-fusion design, which brings on synergy with two completely different thins combined into one while maintaining each distinct characteristics, can be developed. This study was carried out in the following directions. (Enlightenment, Pragmatism, Existentialism) 1. Philosophical thought which is the basis for modern western design 2. Background thought for traditional Korean design (Naturalism -the cosmic dual forces and the Five Elements, Feng-shui, Docham idea- Zen, Realism) 3. Fusion design of the past and the present 4.Formative Characteristics of Korean Traditional Design Based upon the following result of study, simple and practical furniture that coincide with modern design among the traditional Korean furniture were developed into modern material and shape so that furniture design of post-fusion style was proposed.
