꽃의 형태를 응용한 칼라(Collar) 디자인

Abstract

Costume which is one of molding arts has been evolved and recently recognized as an area ni creative art work due to its individual and social character. Therfore, it has been a historical product of human culture. A collar, part of costume, postioned nearest to human face draws particular attention to those who meet the wear and has great influence upon entire atmosphere around her, thus having been recently highlightened as one of important design points in costume design area. ccordingly, the purpose of this study is to apply aethetic characteristics to collar design and present a new creative style of modern costume design by harmonizing both practical aspects of molding arts emphasized on daily life and vital attributes of flowers. The theoretical background of the study is based on the classification, survey and analysis of literature records relevant to aethetic, phychological and human-engineering aspects of collars, mainly focussing on history of weatern costume. And then, the study follows the survey of molding methology through literature in order to introduce appropriate molding patterns of flowers to collar design. In the process of research, lots of pictures of actual flowers were collected and their characteristics are analyzed in order to simplify and stylize the modes for practical application Finally, their patterns were applied to fabrics through experiments, by means of cubic cutting technique, for three-dimensional molding expression. In the process of work production, eight pieces of formal wears were made mainly of wool and silk in consideration of practicability of materials. The results of the study are summarized as follows : First, the patterns of flowers are selected as motive of formal wears and a new possibility of soft and feminine formal wears is presented by harmonizing organic and natural lines and practical aspect of collar as part of costume. Second, flowers which have been traditionaly characterized by their softness and feebleness, are shown to aethetically enjoy a new experience as pattern by presenting their simple and vital strength through the variation to new materials for fabric patterns. Third, collars are shown to be aethetic media for unique individual expression according to pattern selections and also supplement personal experiences so that they may be recognized as important part of costume for fashion design. And fourth, the conventional methologies for collar design are found to have some limitations in viewpoint of creativity, and so this study is to attempt a new methology for more creative molding collar design. And also it is conformed to need further researches on this area.;복식은 생활상 기능을 가진 조형의 한 분야로써 개인의 것이지만 이는 곧 사회적인 성격을 띄며 감정과 정신세제를 표출시켜주는 자기완성과 미적 창조의 표현수단이 된다. 따라서 복식은 정신이 포함된 신체와의 관계에서 취급되어야 한다. 복식에서의 칼라(collar) 부위는 얼굴과 가장 근접한 곳에 위치하고 있어 복식의 전체적인 분위기에 지대한 영향을 주게되므로 미적인 측면뿐 아니라 심리사회적인 측면에서도 표현매체의 기능을 할 수 있는 곳이다. 본 논문에서는 아름다운 조화의 미를 지닌 꽃의 형상을 복식에 있어서 중요한 디자인 포인트 부분인 칼라에 도입함으로써 독창적인 칼라 스타일의 복식 디자인을 시도하였다 이에 본 연구의 목적은 꽃의 심미적인 면을 생활 조형예술로써의 복식에 응용하여 표현적인 것과 실용적인 것과의 조화를 시도하고 보다 다양하고 기능적인 칼라 디자인을 연구함으로써 현대 복식의 발전적 가능성을 제시하는데 있다. 본 연구의 방법 및 범위는 참고자료 및 문헌을 통해 칼라의 복식사적 배경을 서양복식사를 중심으로 고찰하였으며, 복식에서의 칼라의 중요성을 미적인 측면, 인체공학적인 측면 및 심리학적 측면으로 분류하여 조사연구하였다. 꽃의 형태를 복식에 도입함에 있어서 조형 형태론적 방법론을 문헌을 통해 살펴보았고 이를 토대로 실물 사진을 수집하여 분석한 후 단순화시켰으며 꽃의 입체적 조형 표현을 위해 실험을 통하여 입체재단으로 이를 의복으로 제작하였다 작품은 실용성을 감안하여 모직과 비단을 기본 소재로한 정장 8점을 제작하였다. 끝으로, 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정장의 주제로 꽃의 형상을 선택하여 유기적이고, 자연스러운 선의 조화를 칼라라인에 도입함으로써 부드럽고, 여성적인 정장으로서의 가능성을 확대 시켰다. 둘째, 꽃의 형태를 단순화시키고 직물에 재구성함으로써 형태적 특징이 더욱 부각되게 하여 창조적 측면에서의 새로운 미적체험을 경험하게 되었다. 세째, 칼라는 형태에 따라 개성있는 자기표현의 예술적 매체가 될 수 있으며 신체의 결점까지도 보완될 수도 있으므로 복식디자인의 가장 중요한 부위임을 확인하였다. 네째, 다양한 칼라디자인의 관점에서 기존의 기본칼라 재단법의 한계를 파악하여 복합적인 재단법을 시도하였으며, 이에 좀더 독창적이고 조형적인 칼라재단의 연구가 전개되어야 할것을 확인하였다.
