환경오염 이미지를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

Today the complex industrial society has become much larger and more brisk. Although it brought us rapid economic growth and convenience, it also gave us lots of harmful aftereffects. Environmental pollution is no longer a problem related only to certain people or a certain area that is limited boundary As constitution states of the Republic of Korea, it is our right to appreciate and enjoy living in clean environment, and it is our duty, to do the best we can to keep the environment clean. Although it is becomes more difficult to fulfill our duty because of the population exploded and significant change of atmospheric that result in the earth getting warmer every year, no one should be excluded from doing their best to guard and protect our environment. Not only should operate environmental associations for saving environment but also should we conduct campaigns for enlightenment to national point of view. Hereby, this study done with the distinct intention to express clothing that we chose to wear in our daily life can become a plausible medium that subtle, yet receptive the indigenous, as well, as to communication with one and other, to bring into consideration a regard for the environment, and identify the detrimental effects. This study is supported by volumes of written references and extensive research on air pollution, water contamination, soil contamination, poor waste management in order to develop this theory on the relationship between human beings and the environment and between science and environment. First, I study 4 type and feature of representative environment pollution, such as air pollution, water contamination, soil contamination, poor waste management. Second, I study relationships between clothing and environment that how to clothing exert harmful effect on environment, and new clothing materials for protection environment. Finally, I analyzed the media of visual massage such as graphic, photograph image music, dancing, theatrical play, advertisement, and fashion. Under these bases, My work presented here forth are pieces that represent my theory on this subject, that prepared total 8 articles. I use unique fabric materials that I make digital printing, beading, paper-making, dyeing, coating technique. The conclusions of the research are as followings: First, through the analysis of the media of visual massage such as graphic, photograph, image music, dancing, theatrical play, advertisement, and fashion I can have the knowledge of characteristics and differences of each media. Second, I establish higher values and make unique works by the use of various types of technique such as digital printing, beading, paper making, dyeing, coating technique that apply the images of environmental pollution. Third, I propose the possibility of fashion not only as the media of the express of beauty but also as the media of social message. Finally, I aware that fashion has the infinite possibilities of materials that combine fashion and society, and fashion and art. I confirm the possibility as the express media that transmit social problem, in addition to fashion as the role of basic human living. I hope fashion will establish the parts of art that communicate the social message through the creative idea and unique expression of fashion designers.;오늘날 고도로 발달된 산업사회는 인간에게 풍요로움과 편리함을 누릴 수 있는 혜택을 주는 반면 여러가지 부작용을 안겨주고 있다. 특히 사회적 문제가 되고 있는 환경오염은 특정 사회의 문제가 아닌 인간이 생활하고 있는 모든 곳에 그 폐해를 보이고 있다. 대한민국 헌법에도 "모든 국민은 깨끗한 환경에서 생활할 권리를 가지며, 국가와 국민은 환경보전을 위하여 노력하여야 한다"라고 환경권에 규정하고 있다. 그러나 현재 인간환경은 폭발적인 인구 증가와 지구 온난화로 인해 파괴되고 있다. 이러한 오염된 지구를 지키고 보호하기 위하여 다양한 법률적 제약과 계몽적 행사들이 연이어 행하여지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 의복을 통하여 사회적으로 부각되고 있는 환경오염 문제를 우회적이며 간접적 표현으로 시각적 메시지 전달을 시도하고자 한다. 연구방법의 이론적 배경은 인간과 환경의 관계와 과학과 환경의 관계를 문헌과 통계를 통하여 환경의 개념을 알아보았고, 환경 오염 문제의 인식을 돕기 위하여 환경오염에 대해 다음과 같이 조사하였다. 첫째, 환경오염의 대표적인 오염원으로 대기오염, 수질오염, 토양오염, 폐기물 오염으로 크게 4가지로 나누어 유형과 특징을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 환경과 의복의 상관관계를 조사하여 의복이 환경에 미치는 영향을 조사하고 환경보전을 위해 생산되고 있는 환경 친화적 의복소재와 신소재의 종류를 알아보았다. 셋째, 환경오염의 메시지 전달을 하는 시각적 매체로 그래픽, 사진, 영상음악, 무용, 연극, 광고영상, 의상으로 나누어 그 사례를 통하여 분석하였다. 이러한 이론적 배경과 분석을 토대로 작품의 모티브로 정하고 환경오염이미지를 응용하여 컴퓨터 디지털 프린트, 비딩기법, 닥섬유(paper making), 염색, 비닐 코팅기법 등을 사용하여 2점씩 구성하여 총8작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구과정을 통하여 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 환경오염 메시지를 담은 시각적 전달 매체의 사례를 그래픽, 사진, 영상음악, 무용, 연극, 광고영상, 의상으로 나누어 분석함으로써 각 매체의 표현 방법의 특징과 차이를 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 환경오염 이미지를 응용한 작품을 컴퓨터 디지털 프린팅, 비딩, 테이핑, 닥섬유, 침염, 붓염, 코팅작업 등의 여러 기법을 독창적인 표현 방법을 사용하여 작품의 부가가치를 높이고 다양한 소재와 기법들의 접목을 통하여 독창적인 작품을 제작할 수 있었다. 셋째, 의상을 통하여 미를 표현할 뿐만 아니라 사회적으로 부각되는 문제를 의상을 통하여 메시지 전달 매체로서 발전 가능성을 제시 할 수 있었다. 넷째, 의상과 사회, 의상과 예술을 접목시켜 창의적이고 예술적 가치를 지닌 의상디자인의 무한한 소재를 개발할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 의상은 인간생활의 기본요소가 되는 역할 이외에도 사회적 문제를 전달하는 표현매체로서 가능성을 확인하고 의상디자이너의 창의적인 아이디어로 독창적인 표현을 통하여 사회적 문제의 메시지 전달을 할 수 있는 예술의 한 분야를 구축하며 발전할 수 있기를 기대한다.
