Abstract

한 시대의 특정 양식은 그 당시의 미적 가치와 정치적ㆍ경제적ㆍ문화적 상황을 복합적으로 반영 한다. 새로운 양식의 창조는 기술 발달이나 사회적ㆍ도덕적 가치관의 변화 및 경제적 상황 등의 요소와 과거의 전통적 요소들이 결합되어 새롭게 절충된 조형 감각을 통하여 전달된다. 20세기 초반 프랑스를 중심으로 생겨난 아르데코(Art Deco)양식은 과거의 절충에 의한 방식을 초월하여 산업과 예술의 결합에 의한 단순하고 간결한 형식을 창안함으로써 20세기 초 장식 예술 전반을 지배했을 뿐만 아니라 현대 모던 디자인의 원류가 되었다. 한편 아르데코 양식의 특징인 '다양한 문화의 융합'을 성립하게 되었던 20세기 초 유럽의 사회적 상황은 개방화에 의한 최근의 우리 나라의 사회적ㆍ문화적 양상과 부합되며 그 맥락을 같이 한다고 볼 수 있다. 다시 말하면 최근에 요구되고 있는 기존 사회구조의 붕괴에 의한 재구조(re-structure)및 경제적 불황에 의한 억압과 스트레스로부터 벗어나기를 바라는 사람들에 의해 이국적이거나 낭만적인 것, 즉 현실과 유리된 것을 추구하는 경향이 있으며, 더 나아가 세계화와 더불어 다국적 문화, 다국적 기업의 출현은 현재 일어나고 있는 사회적 현황이라 하겠다. 본 논문에서는 1920년대와 1930년대에 서구 유럽을 중심으로 장식미술의 기틀을 다진 아르데코 양식을 체계적으로 정립하고 미학적 특징을 시각화하여 재구성한 후 산업 직물 디자인에 도입 응용하고자 한다. 아르데코를 중심으로 한 직물 디자인의 이론적 배경을 마련하기 위해서는 첫째 아르데코 양식이 유행했던 시기의 사회적 상황을 살펴보고 둘째, 그 당시 유행했던 대중 예술이었던 영화, 재즈, 러시아 발레의 특성과 추상예술 영역으로서 입체분리파(Orphcism)에 대해 고찰한다. 셋째, 아르데코 텍스타일 양식의 대표적 디자이너 였던 소니아 들로네(Sonia Delaunay)의 작품을 살펴보며, 아울러 아르데코 양식의 특징을 분석하며 넷째, 위의 연구 결과를 토대로 97/98 가을/겨울(Autum/Winter)의 복고(retro)경향과 98 봄/여름(Spring/Summer)의 자연주의(Naturallism)와 로맨티시즘(Romanticism)의 경향을 염두에 두고 (Neo Jazz)와 (Neo Exoticism)을 주제로 한 여성의 직물 디자인을 제시하자 한다.;The Particular style of a time complexly reflets the aesthetic values and political, economical, cultural situation of that time. The creation of a new style is delivered, combined with elements of technological development, social, moral value changes, and economical situations and those of the past's tradition, through newly negotiated modeling sense. Art Deco style appearing in France, early 20th century, has become the basis of modern design by surpassing the past's negotiating way and creating a simple style by the combination of industry and art. On the other hand, the social situation of the early 20th century's Europe where 'the fusion of various cultures' was built, which is the characteristic of Art Deco style, corresponds to our country's social, cultiral aspects and has the same connection. In other word, by the people who want to do away with repression and stress out of the destruction of the destruction of the existing social structure and its restructuring, there is a trend to pursue something exotic, romantic, and far away from reality, and further more, the appearance of multicultural companies and multinational cultures is an on-going social phenomenon. This thesis has a purpose to adapt Art Deco design to industrial textile design after systematically establishing Art Deco style which settled its basis with decorative art in western Europe, from 1920's ti 1930's, and visually restructuring its aesthetic characteristics. As the theoretical background of Art Deco-colored textile design, I examined, first, the social situation of the time Art Deco style was in fashion, Second, the characteristics of the movies, Jazz, and Russian ballet which were popular art at that time, and Orphicism as an abstract. Thirdly, I studied Sonia Delaunay, who was one of representative artist of Art Deco textile and her works, and analyzed the color characteristics of Art Deco style. Fourthly, I'd like to suggest various textile samples of various life style of age target market on the basis of '97/98 A/W, '98 S/S fashion trends, 'Neo Jazz' and 'Neo Exoticism'.
