전통 수묵을 이용한 패션 일러스트레이션

Abstract

패션 일러스트레이션은 의복을 기록하는 단순하고 실용적인 제작 설명도의 개념에서 출발하여 예술성을 전달하고 창출하는 표현 예술 영역으로 발전하고 있다. 이와 같이 패션 일러스트레이션의 예술적 가치가 고양됨에 따라 패션 일러스트레이션의 소재와 기법에 대한 연구와 개발이 폭 넓게 이루어지고 있고 현대의 패션 일러스트레이션은 판화, 동양화, 꼴라쥬, 사진합성기법, CAD, 수제지 기법 등의 다양한 기법들과 접목되면서 그 표현 영역을 확대해 가고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존의 서양화 기법에 의존해 왔던 패션 일러스트레이션에서 탈피하여 동양 미술의 정수로 여겨지는 전통 수묵기법을 응용하여 독창적인 묵법으로 표현상 새로운 효과를 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 패션 일러스트레이션의 표현 수단으로서 수묵의 잠재적 가능성을 모색하고 수묵의 독자적인 표현성과 예술적 가치를 제시하는 동시에 패션 이미지를 회화적으로 표현, 전달하며 전통미를 시각적으로 현대화시켜 계승하는데 두고 있다. 연구의 내용 및 방법은 이론적 배경으로 패션 일러스트레이션의 개념과 기능 및 용도를 분류, 분석하였고, 초기부터 현대에 이르는 변천 과정을 시대 순으로 문헌을 통해 종합 검토하였으며, 표현 기법을 평면적인 것과 입체적인 것으로 분류하여 고찰하였다. 또한 수묵화의 개념과 역사, 그리고 특성을 고찰 연구해 보았다. 이를 토대로, 본 연구의 작품은 먹과 한지를 기본 재료로 하여 패션 일러스트레이션에 있어 수묵의 기법을 다양하게 응용하여 제작하였으며, 독특한 표현 효과와 독창적인 회화미의 창출을 통해, 패션 이미지를 전달하는데 있어 수묵의 잠재적 가능성을 연구하고자 8개의 작품을 제작하였다. 이러한 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째 : 수묵의 조형성을 패션 일러스트레이션과 접목시켜 시각적 표현의 영역을 확대하고 회화 표현 소재로서의 영역 이외에 패션 일러스트레이션의 표현에 있어서 그 잠재적 가능성을 확인 할 수 있었다. 둘째 : 수묵이 지닌 섬세하고 힘차며 생명감 넘치는 필치, 여백의 미, 깊이 있는 묵의 발색, 농담의 변화에 의한 단순 간결한 묘사, 주시양법의 입체감과 원근감 처리 등의 기법을 통해 현대 패션 이미지 전달에 있어 풍부한 상상의 세계와 서정성을 제시하고, 패션 일러스트레이션의 독창성과 예술적 가치를 고양시킬 수 있었다. 셋째 : 작품 재료에 있어서는 한지의 표현 가능성을 연구하여 한지의 투명하고 섬세한 재질감으로 깊이 있는 묵의 발색과 농담의 미묘한 변화를 효과적으로 나타내어 먹의 조형성을 극대화시키는 절대 순수 재질의 우수성을 발견하였다. 넷째 : 수묵을 통한 패션 일러스트레이션은 전통을 계승하고 그 조형미를 현대의 감각으로 재해석하여 많은 서구화된 패션 일러스트레이션 가운데 독창적인 위치를 차지할 수 있다는 가능성을 발견하였다. 연구 결과 앞으로의 패션 일러스트레이션은 다양한 표현 기법을 개발함에 있어 수묵과 같은 고유의 전통적 기법을 연구하고, 현대화 하여 전통의 계승과 함께 새로운 영역에 도전하여야 할 것이다.;In the past, Fashion Illustration started from the simple diagram for making clothes. But in these days it is developing and conquer the artistic area of creativity. So the study of Fashion Illustrations' tools and materials of expression is developing broadly. For example, engraving plate, oriental painting, collage, photoigraph, and CAD are used to present diverse images and to make new area of fashion illustration. In this study, try to find a new effect which is generated from the Korean Ink on Korean Paper in Fashion Illustration. The goal of this study is to find the potential value of Korean Ink in Fashion illustration and at the same time creatively express the sense of unique visual image. For the theoretical foundation, domestic and international books and articles were surveyed to find the history of fashion illustration, function, and to investigate the methods of expression in Fashion illustration. Also dealt with the essence of Korean ink painting and survey detail thing of it. With using chines ink and Korean Paper as the basic matters, 8 real expression works was done in this study. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, as the method of expression, Ink on paper has very powerful possibility to find a potential value in not only in find art but also in purpose art, as Fashion illustration. Second : this study shows that ink on paper give a possibility to develop the fashion illustration. Third : recognize the unique quality of Koran paper as the materials of fine art. It must be a very important factor to find a new area of its usage Fourth : Fashion Illustration with Korea Ink can serve as well the important transmitter oftraditional property as play the creative role in modern art. In the developing new method in Fashion Illustration, we will find a chance to apply our traditional method in it. It must be the heritage and give a chance to meet the new world.
