중·고등학생들의 과학에 대한 태도 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 중고등학생들의 과학에 대한 학습태도를 조사하여 과학에 대한 태도를 지도하는 기초자료를 마련하는데 그 목적을 둔다. 과학에 대한 태도를 측정하기 위해 프레이저의 TOSRA (Test Of Science Relatrd Attitudes)를 사용하여 7개 범주 70 문항에 대한 설문조사의 반응을 리커트의 5 단계 척도에 의해 점수화하였다. 먼저 180명을 대상으로 예비조사를 실시하여 7개 범주 모두가 신뢰계수 0.4이상을 나타내었으므로 본 조사에서는 7개 범주 70 문항을 수정없이 그대로 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 서울시와 경기도 소재 남녀 중고등학생 747 명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 이를 분석 검토하였다. 실시된 결과는 과학에 대한 전반적인 태도 경향과 범주 별 경향, 배경 요인 별 경향을 각각 1%, 5%, 유의 수준에서 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. (1) 중고등학생들의 과학에 대한 태도는 다소 긍정적이었다. (2) 중고등학생들의 과학에 대한 태도는 남자가 여자보다 긍정적 경향을 나타내었다. (3) 서울과 경기 지역을 비교하여 보면 과학에 대한 태도가 서울이 경기지역보다 긍정적이었다. (4) 중학생과 고등학생을 비교하여 보면 중학생이 고등학생보다 과학에 대한 태도가 긍정적이었다.;The purpose of this survey is to investigate the statue on attitude toward science among the middle and high school students and make to plan the basic data for future science education n Korea. The attitudes toward science were measured with TOSRA (Test of Science Related Attitudes) by Fraser, B. J.(1981). The instrument of TOSRA contains 70 items of five point Likert format, with seven scales. Preliminary survey was made 180 high school students of 1st grade in Kyeong-gi Province as a pilot study object and the main survey was made 747 middle and high students in Seoul and Kyeong-gi Province as an object. The tendency of total and each scale and the contrast of their backgrounds were analyzed at the 0.001 or 0.05 level of significance. The main results in this survey are as follows; (1) The overall attitudes toward science of the middle and high school students shows a positive tendency. (2) Males exhibited significantly more positive attitudes toward science than those of females. (3) More positive attitudes toward science the students in Seoul than Kyeong-gi Province. (4) Middle school students exhibited higher attitudes toward science than high school students.
