지식관리시스템(Knowledge Management System)구축 전략에 관한 사례 연구

Abstract

최근들어 기업의 환경적 변화가 더욱 다양해지고 시간이 갈수록 그 변화의 속도가 가속되어짐에 따라 새로운 지식을 만들어 내고 그것을 공유하는 것이 기업발전에 가장 중요한 요소라는 인식이 점차로 조직 전반에 확산되고 있다. 기업내 축적된 지식을 기업경영에 적극적으로 활용하여 최대의 효과를 얻고자 하는 것이 지식경영의 기본개념이며, 정보기술을 활용하여 지식경영을 추진하고자 개발된 기업정보시스템이 지식관리시스템이다. 컨설팅업은 해당분야에 대한 전문적 지식을 바탕으로 고객의 당면한 문제해결 및 전략적 방향을 제시해주는 지식산업으로, 전문기술이나 노하우를 가지고 있는 컨설턴트들의 개인적 지식과 조직내에 축적되어 있는 지적자원을 효율적으로 관리하고 함께 공유하기 위한 지식관리 체계의 구축이 필요하다. 이에, 본 연구는 첫째, 지식과 지식경영의 개념, 지식관리시스템에 관한 기존 문헌들을 조사하여 체계적으로 통합 정리하였다. 둘째, 지식관리시스템을 성공적으로 구현하고 있는 선진 컨설팅 업체의 사례와 국내 사례를 분석하였다. 셋째, 이미 입증되어 있는 해외 선진 업체의 지식관리시스템 성공사례에 견주어 국내 정보기술 컨설팅업에 적합한 지식관리시스템 구축 전략을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 지식관리시스템 구축을 위한 진행 단계는 착수, 환경분석, 현황분석, 지식관리 모델 정립, 시스템 구축, 종료이다. 착수 단계에서는 추진조직 결성, 접근방법 정립, 일정 및 자원계획수립 등을 수행하고, 환경분석 단계에서는 지식관리, 지식관리시스템 정의, 선진사례 분석을 수행한다. 현황분석 단계에서는 현행 업무프로세스 분석과 정보시스템 현황 분석, 지식자원관리 현황 분석을 수행하고, 지식관리모델 정립 단계에서는 관리대상 지식 선정 및 분석, 관리프로세스 수립, 운영지침 등을 수립한다. 시스템 구축 단계에서는 시스템 기능 요구사항, 시스템 기본요건을 정의하고 시스템을 구축하며, 종료 단계에서는 사용자 교육 및 최종보고를 하게 된다. 국내에서는 아직 지식경영에 대한 개념정립과 관련 문헌도 체계화되지 못하였고, 지식관리시스템 구축에 대한 필요성이 아직은 미약한 상황에서, 본 연구에서 제시된 개념의 정의나 사례분석 결과, 그리고 지식관리시스템 구축 전략은 실제 지식관리시스템을 구축하고자 하는 기업에 시스템 구축의 기본틀로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.;Recently, the change in business environment is becoming more and more various and the pace of these changes is accelerating. As a result, creating new knowledge valuable to a new environment and sharing this knowledge throughout the organization is becoming the ultimate issue in many organizations. Making effective use of organizational knowledge to create value for the organization is the basic principle of knowledge management and information technology provide the means to manage the organization's knowledge more effectively through the organization's knowledge management system. Knowledge management consulting is a business where the knowledge management consultant, who is an expert in identifying knowledge and developing knowledge management process and system, provides strategic solution for the customer to effectively manage the organization's knowledge in order to create more value for the organization. There were three objectives to this research. The first objective was to study the various references on principles of knowledge, knowledge management and knowledge management system and to integrate and organize these various principles. Secondly to analyze and compare leading consulting companies which have successfully installed knowledge management systems in place with knowledge management practices in Korea. Finally, having analyzed the companies, known for successful management of knowledge, I have suggested a development of a knowledge management systems strategy for information technology consulting companies. The phase suggested in this research for development of knowledge management systems include project initiation, environment analysis, current business process and systems analysis, knowledge management modeling, knowledge management systems development and project finish. The activities in project initiation phase include creating a project team, deciding a methodology for the project, project scheduling and planning resources. The environment analysis phase include establishing principles for knowledge management and knowledge management system and analyzing best practices. The activities in current business process and systems analysis phase include analyzing current business and knowledge management process and system. The knowledge management modeling phase include identifying and analyzing organizational knowledge, creating knowledge management and maintenance process. The knowledge management system development phase include function requirement analysis, systems requirement analysis and development of the system. Finally, the project finish phase includes user training and producing project report. The requirement for knowledge management in an organization is still not fully realized in Korea. In such a situation, I hope that the principle of knowledge management and system, analysis of leading practices and strategy for knowledge management systems development suggested in this research report will prove to be a useful framework for an organization planning to develop a knowledge management system in real life.
