유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 아버지 역할 인식과 역할수행기대에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니(이하 “어머니”라 함)들이 인식하는 아버지 역할의 개념과 역할수행에의 기대를 알아보려고 한다. 이러한 목적을 위해 설정된 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 인식하는 아버지 역할의 개념은 어떠한가? 2. 어머니가 기대하는 아버지 역할수행의 경향은 어떠한가? 3. 어머니가 인식하는 아버지 역할의 개념은 아버지의 역할수행에 관한 기대와 관련이 있는가? 연구대상은 서울지역 유치원에 다니고 있는 원아의 어머니 443명이며 설문지는 유아를 통해 배부, 회수되었다. 사용된 도구는 Rachael Elder의 바람직한 아버지에 대한 전통적 개념, 진보적 개념과 위 영희(1978)와 김 성희(1990)의 연구를 참고로 아버지 역할수행 항목 9가지를 작성하였다. 자료는 SAS Computer Program에 의해 전산처리 하였으며 신뢰도는 Cronbach's α계수. 어머니의 아버지 역할 개념과 역할수행에의 기대는 변량분석(ANOVA)하였고, 상관은 Pearson's r로 알아보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 어머니는 아버지 역할에 대해 진보적인 개념을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 전통적 개념은 어머니의 연령이 높을수록, 학력이 낮을수록 높았고, 진보적 개념은 어머니의 학력이 높을수록, 아버지의 직업이 전문화될수록 높게 나타났다. 2. 어머니가 가장 기대하는 아버지의 역할수행은 바람직한 성격형성을 도와주는 역할로 나왔고 그 다음은 기본적 훈육의 역할, 가정 융화의 역할, 정서적 안정감을 갖게 하는 역할의 순으로 나타났다. 변인 가운데서는 어머니의 학력과 아버지의 직업에서 유의한 차이가 나타났는데, 어머니의 학력이 높을수록, 아버지의 직업이 전문화될수록 가정 융화의 역할과 부모자신을 위해 노력하는 역할, 정서적 안정감을 갖게 하는 역할을 기대하였다. 3. 어머니가 인식하는 아버지 역할의 개념은 아버지 역할 수행에 관한 기대와 전 영역에서 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 어머니가 인식하는 아버지 역할의 개념은 아버지 역할수행에 대한 기대와 관련이 있음을 보여주었다.;The purpose of this study is to investigate the mother's concepts and expectations about the father's role. The questions of this study is as follows: 1. Is there any difference for the mothers in the degree of traditional and developmental concepts about the father's role. 2. Is there any difference in the degree of the mother' expectations about the father's role. 3. Is there any correlation between the mother's concepts and expectations about the father's role. For this research, 443 mothers of children attended at kindergartens in Seoul were selected. The questionnaire was used for the study. Data obtained from the survey were coded and analyzed by SAS computer programs. Cronbach's α and one-way ANOVA and Pearson's r were applied. The findings of this sutdy are as follows: 1. The mothers have the developmental concepts about the father's role. For the mother's concepts of the father's role, there were significant differences among groups devided by mother's education and father's occupations. The mothers' concepts of the fathers' role are more higher when the mothers are more educated. According to the father's occupations, the mothers' developmental concepts of the fathers' role are proffessional than non-skilled. 2. To help moulding the children's character is the most mothers' expectation of the fathers' role, there were significant differences among groups divided by education and occupations. The expected roles of the fathers' role enumerated by mothers were controlling children, harmonizing their families with love, providing emotional stability, etc. 3. There were positive correlations between the mothers' concepts and expectations about the fathers' role.
