F. J. Haydn의 Adante con Variazioni, Hob. XVII/6에 관한 연구

Abstract

변주곡은 16세기 초에 스페인의 건반악기와 루트(Lute) 작곡가들로 부터 16세기 말경에는 영국의 버지날리스트(Virginalist)에 의해서 발달하기 시작했으며 그후 많은 기법상의 변화가 있었다. 16, 17세기초에는 전체 변주를 통하여 주제의 화성이 유지되거나 화성과 선율이 함께 유지되는 기법을 주로 사용하였으며 바로크 시대에는 베이스(Bass)를 변형하여 발전시키는 것으로 대위법적인 변주방법이었다. 이러한 과정을 거쳐 고전주의 시대에는 주제의 기본화성을 유지하면서 선율을 변형시키는 선율변주 기법으로 발전하여 선율선을 그대로 따르는 변주곡이나 주제의 화성에 새로운 선율을 만들어 넣은 변주곡 등 주제의 화성구조를 각 변주에 적용시키는 형태가 나타났다. 본 논문의 목적은 고전주의 작곡가인 하이든(Haydn)의 Andante con Variazioni에 관한 분석적 연구이며 분석에 앞서 하이든 변주곡까지의 변천 과정을 살펴 보았으며 Andante con Variazioni의 분석을 통하여 다음과 같은 전체적 특징을 알게 되었다. 첫째, 주제는 f단조의 주제 A와 F장조의 주제 B로 구성되어 두 개의 주제가 사용되어 있다. 둘째, 전곡을 통하여 주제의 화성과 기본 구조등이 유지되어 있으며 특히 주제에 나타나는 하성부의 기본동기가 빈번히 사용되고 있다. 셋째, 주제의 조성은 각 변주에 그대로 유지되어 있으며 박자와 속도는 시종일관 변화하지 않는 점이 특이하다. 넷째, 다양한 리듬위주의 변주형으로 선율은 비화성음의 보조음 경과음 등을 이용하여 경쾌하고 다채로운 선율진행을 보여주며 또한 구성적 전위 (Texture Inversion)의 사용은 그의 원숙한 대위법적인 수법을 보여주고 있다. 다섯째, 전체 곡들을 통해 스케일과 아르페지오를 이용한 리듬의 확대와 축소, 3도의 병진행, 빠른 온음계와 반음계적인 선율진행, 당김음, 분산화음과 변화화음의 부분적 사용, 스타카토와 트릴과 같은 장식음이 효과있게 사용되었다. 이와같이 이곡은 하이든의 모든 기법이 잘 나타나 있으며 웅장함 보다는 내적 충실성을 추구하여 선율변주 위주의 고전주의적 변주기법을 따르고 있다.;Development of variation began initially by the Spanish composers of the keyboard instruments and the lutes in the early 16th century, and later by the English virginalists in the late 16th century. Since then, there have been a lot of changes in its technique. The purpose of this study is to analyze Andante con Variazioni of Haydn, one of the well-known classical composers. An overview is preceded about the process of development of the variation before Haydn. And the current study has led us to find the following characteristics of Andante con Variazioni: Firstly, its theme is divided into Theme A of f minor and Theme B of F major. And these two themes are used in a different way from the common variations of other composers. Secondly, the harmony and the basic structure of the theme are maintained throughout the whole work and its principle motive in the lower part are frequently repeated. Thirdly, the tonality of the theme is kept in each of the variations, and its tempo and meter give uniqueness to Andante con Variazioni by staying unchanged throughout the whole work. Fourthly, it has a wide variety of rhythms. Its melody is cheerful and shows a various rhythmic process, utilizing non-harmonic tones, auxiliary notes and passing notes. The use of texture inversion reveals Haydn's maturedness in the contrapuntal technique. Finally, throughout the whole work effectively used are the expansion and reduction of rhythm with scale and arpeggio, simultaneous procession of the third, rhythmical process of rapid diatonic and chromatic scales, syncopation, partial use of broken chord and altered chords, and grace notes such as staccato and trill. All the characteristics of Haydn's technics are well represented in this piece, which pursues inner substantiality rather than magnificence, following the classical technique aiming at rhythmical variations.
