자기관리전략이 보호작업장에서 일하는 정신지체인의 독립적인 작업과제 수행행동 및 생산량에 미치는 효과

Abstract

많은 정신지체인들의 외부 의존적인 성향과 미흡한 자기조절 능력은 그들이 고용되어 성공적으로 직업 생활을 해나가는 데 큰 장애가 되고 있다. 이들에게 제공되어 온 기존의 프로그램은 외적 단서에 지나치게 중점을 두어 결과적으로 제한된 대상에게 반응을 제한시키고 독립적인 수행을 저하시키는 부정적인 측면을 초래했다. 따라서 정신지체인들이 직접 참여하여 보다 주체적인 역할을 할 수 있도록 돕는 새로운 대안 프로그램이 요청된다. 이러한 필요성에서 도출된 자기관리전략은 직업 환경에서 장신지체인들이 감독의존적인 성향을 극복하는데 효과적으로 활용될 수 있다. 본 연구는 보호작업장에서 일하고 있으며 외부 감독 없이는 스스로 작업하는 데 어려움을 지니는 세 명의 경도 정신지체인을 대상으로 자기 자신의 행동을 관찰하여 수행을 체계적으로 기록한후 수행에 대한 피드백을 요청하는 방법인 자기관리전략을 사용하도록 훈련한 후, 독립적인 작업과제 수행행동 및 생산량에 미치는 효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 대상자간 중다 기초선 설계(multiple baseline design across subjects)를 사용하여 자기관리전략의 효과를 측정하였다. 실험처치는 총 30분으로 10분간 전날의 훈련효과를 관찰하고 20분간 자기관리전략 훈련이 진행되었다. 유지검사는 실험처치가 종결된 지 4주 후에 각 대상별로 1일 1회기씩 4회 실시되었다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기관리전략을 통해 대상자 모두의 독립적인 과제수행 행동이 향상되었다. 둘째, 자기관리전략을 통해 대상자 모두의 생산량이 향상되었다. 셋째, 4주 후에도 대상자 모두 향상된 독립적인 과제수행 행동 및 생산량을 유지하였다. 즉, 외부 감독이 없이는 독립적인 작업과제 수행이 어려운 외부의존적인 정신지체인들은 자기관리전략을 통해 독립적인 과제 수행 및 생산량에 큰 향상을 보였으며, 실험처치가 종결된 후에도 그 효과가 유지되었다. 외적 강화나 감독 없이 스스로의 행동을 유지해 나가는 데 매우 효과적인 자기관리전략은 정신지체인들의 직업적 성공을 위한 프로그램으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 또한 교육자에게는 학생의 미래 고용 환경에 대한 준비 측면과 관련하여, 직업 현장의 감독 혹은 훈련가에게는 고용된 정신지체인들의 직업적 성공 및 보다 통합적인 경쟁 고용으로의 기회 향상에 시사하는 바가 매우 크다.;The purpose of this study was to test the effect of the self-management strategy on the on-task behavior and the quantity of the production of adults with mental retardation working in a sheltered workshop.This study was ultimately designed to provide informations regarding the applicability of self-management strategy in work setting. For the purpose, three mentally retarded adults with inattention and external control problem were selected, based on the result of KEDI-WAIS intelligence test and the pretest on the on-task behavior. The subjects were trained by self-management strategy.Using multiple baseline design across subjects, percentage of the on-task behavior and the quantity of production were measured.Follow-up observation was implimented four weeks after withdrawing the intervention. The result obtained from the present study are summarized as the fellowing: 1.Self-management strategy increased the on-task behavior in all subjects.2.Self-management strategy increased the quantity of the production in all subjects. 3.Increased level of the on-task behavior and the quantity of the production were maintained in all subjects. Based on the results mentioned above, it could be concluded that self-management strategy had an effect on the on-task behavior and the quantity of the production of adults with mental retardation working in a sheltered workshop.
