현대미술의 다원화 경향과 환경 디자인에의 적용에 관한 연구

Abstract

In modern society, by the excessive advance in civilization brought by the rapid industrialization and scientism, human life was disengaged from living with nature. The conversion of paradigm caused by the changing of the times is expanding its influence over philosophy, literature, architecture, and art. Especially theadmission of the underlying change of thinking in the field of architecture becamepopular as postmodernism reaches its maturity. The new solution is required for the existing building or urban environment built without consideration of human behavior. The postmodernism emerged against the rational reason of the modernism shows a marked trend toward pluralism in which various mode coexist in a complicated manner. However, these kinds of circumstance should be understood not as disorder but as openness, and pluralistic tendency should be considered to be the reflection of the diversity of the modern society. By the increased isolation of the human and the instability of environments, there are needs of the arts which reflect the spirit of the times. In the field of art, the change of the times was accepted so that the various mutations are being experimented in an open manner as convergence between the areas, combination of different media and reception of popular culture, and the ways of contacting art are also avoiding the fixed idea and concept so as to lead human's active and subjective participation in a mutually interchangeable manner. The new method for approach in the methodology of environmental design is required to induce artistic conversion of the environment and to establish true character of environment design, and these kinds of originality in the visual angle and the opened, diversified participational artistic manner present a number of possibility in the research of the new environmental design. This study proceeds with the following steps to provide methodology of environmental design based on the needs of participational cultural artistic places and places for the rest and green land, and to understand the background of the times and/the pluralistic trend which are reflected by the variety of modern society. 1) Recognizing the development background of pluralistic age coexisting with various and complicated artistic culture. 2) Understanding of the theoretical characteristics of pluralistic tendency disclosed from contemporary art and architecture. 3) Grasping of the characteristics of the modern architectural moulding to present the designing method for new environmental design. 4) Theoretical consideration of pocket-park in the city through documents. 5) Based on the theoretical background mentioned previously, pluralistic tendency of the contemporarry art and modern architecture expanded the concepts of artistic domain caused by the convergence between different artistic areas, reflected the diversity of the spirit of the times by using the various modes and media provided by the area of art and architecture, presented the recognition of the trial to translate the environment into the arts by inducing the mutual interchange of art between the mass of the people in a common way. 6) Presentation of new environmental design applied by the theoretical background discussed above. By designing the places which was freely combined with various genres of art and media, presenting new environment as the popular culture causing active participation of the mass of the people. As the result of the previous study, the environmental design from pluralistic view made interdisciplinary approach possible by accepting different territories of art in an open-minded manner which acknowledge the coexistence of the various modes, present the concept of improving quality of life and environment by forming a comfortable relationship between art and human life. Therefore, the education system applying the relational examination as a suggestion to the art for environment and the art for the mass of the people.;현대 사회의 급속한 산업화, 과학화로 인한 지나친 물질문명의 발달로 인해 오히려 인간은 더욱 자연환경과 유리된 삶 속에 방치되게 되었다. 시대의 변화에 따른 패러다임의 전환은 철학, 문학, 건축, 예술 전반에 대해 그 영향력을 확대해 나가고 있으며, 특히 이러한 사고의 전환에 대한 건축적 수용은 포스트모더니즘시대에 이르러 더욱 구체적으로 드러나고 있다. 이에 따라 인간의 삶과 행태에 관한 고려없이 디자인된 기존의 건축물이나 도시환경에 대한 문제점이 대두되고 있어 새로운 해결안이 요구된다. 모더니즘의 합리적 이성에 대한 반발로 등장한 포스트모더니즘은 한두마디로 정의 내리기 어려운 복합적이고 다양한 사조로 여러 가지 양식이 공존하는 다원화 경향을 띄고 있다. 이러한 다원화 경향은 현대사회의 다양성을 실질적으로 반영하고 있다고 볼 수 있으며, 이와 같은 상황을 혼란스럽기보다 개방적으로 받아들여야 할 것이다. 또한, 환경의 불안정, 인간의 고립화가 나날이 심각해지고 있어, 시대적 반영물로 볼 수 있는 예술의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 예술영역에서도 시대의 변화를 수용하여 영역간의 수렴현상, 다양한 매체의 결합, 대중문화의 수용 등 개방적인 태도로 다양한 변화들을 시도하고 있으며, 예술과 접하는 방법도 과거와 달리 상호 교류적으로 능동적인 참여를 유도하여 인간의 삶에 있어서 주체적 형태로 승화시키며 고정적인 개념을 탈피하고 있다. 환경의 예술적 전환과 환경디자인의 자기 정체성 확립을 위해서는 환경디자인 방법론에 있어서 새로운 접근 방법을 필요로 하며, 이러한 새로운 시각과 개방적이고 다양한 참여 예술적 형태는 새로운 환경디자인을 연구함에 있어서 많은 가능성을 제시한다. 본 연구는 도심 녹지 및 휴식공간과 참여적 문화 예술공간의 필요성을 바탕으로 현대사회의 다양성을 잘 반영하고 있는 현대미술의 시대적 배경과 다원화 경향을 이해하고 이것의 적용을 통한 환경디자인 방법을 제시하기 위해 다음과 같은 과정으로 진행하였다. 다양하고 복합적인 예술문화가 혼재하는 다원주의 시대의 발생 배경을 살펴보았다. 2. 현대미술과 현대건축에서 공통적으로 나타나는 다원화 경향의 특징을 이론적 고찰을 통하여 이해하였다. 3. 다원화 경향을 보이고 있는 현대건축의 조형적인 특성을 파악하여 새로운 환경디자인을 위한 하나의 접근방법으로 이해하였다. 4. 도심 소공원에 대하여 문헌을 통한 이론적 고찰을 하였다. 5. 앞에서 논의된 이론적 배경을 바탕으로, 현대미술과 현대건축에서의 다원화 경향은 예술영역간의 상호 수렴현상으로 그 경계를 모호하게 만드는 개방적인 특징을 보이며 예술의 개념을 확대시켰고, 미술과 건축 분야에서 나타나는 여러 양식과 다양한 매체의 사용으로 현 시대의 다양성을 반영하고 있다. 또한, 대중과의 상호교류로 예술이 일상에서 유리되지 않고 삶속에 자연스럽게 유입되어 환경의 예술화를 확장시키기 위한 시도였음을 알 수 있었다. 6. 앞서 논의 되었던 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 한 환경디자인을 제시한다. 다양한 예술 장르와 매체가 자유롭게 결합한 형태의 공간을 디자인하여 대중의 적극적인 참여를 유도하는 대중적인 예술로서의 새로운 환경을 제시하였다. 그 결과 다원적 관점에 의한 환경디자인은 여러가지 양식의 공존을 인정하는 개방적인 사고로, 자유롭게 타영역을 수용함으로 다학문적인 접근을 가능하게 하였고, 이는 우리의 삶과 예술 역시 자연스럽게 결합함으로서 환경의 질과 삶의 가치를 향상시킬 수 있다는 개념이다. 따라서 환경의 예술화 및 예술의 대중화에 대한 제안으로서 관계성 고찰을 통한 학제적 방법을 제시하였으며, 환경 디자인이 지향해야하는 하나의 새로운 디자인 개념을 제시하였다.
