컴퓨터를 활용한 한국어 교육

Abstract

외국어로서의 한국어는 성인 외국인 학습자에게 습득하기에 어려운 언어로 분류된다. 그래서 학습 효과를 높이기 위해 학습자에게 지속적인 자극을 줄 수 있는 무언가가 필요하게 되었으며, 많은 한국어 교사들이 짜임새 있는 교재와 철두철미한 준비, 다양한 시청각 자료 등 학습자의 의사 소통 향상과 동기 유발을 위하여 많은 준비와 시행착오들을 행하고 있다. 그러나 한국어 학습자의 수준이 같은 등급이라 하더라도 학습자간의 모국어, 성별, 나이, 언어 적성, 교육의 정도, 문화적 배경 등에 따라 도달하고자 하는 목표에 이르는 정도가 가지각색이다. 이 때문에 교실에서 학습자 개개인의 능력에 맞는 속도로 학습할 수 있는 개별화 학습의 실현이 요구되게 되었다. 따라서 본 논문은 외국어로서 한국어를 습득하는 성인 외국어 학습자들이 실제 생활의 의사 소통과 개별화 학습을 위해 기존의 교수법에 컴퓨터를 활용함으로써 한국어 습득에 강한 동기를 갖고, 교사가 언어의 네 가지 기술, 즉 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기를 향상시키는데 어떻게 컴퓨터를 활용할 수 있는지를 제안하는 것을 그 목표로 한다. 컴퓨터에 의한 언어 학습(Computer-Assisted Language Learning : CALL)을 소개하기 위해, 먼저 CALL의 역사와 배경을 소개하고, 컴퓨터를 언어수업에 도입 할 경우 발생하게 되는 장점과 단점, 그리고 현재 한국어 교육 분야에서 컴퓨터가 어느 정도 활용이 되고 있으며, 각 기관의 컴퓨터의 보유 현황과, 컴퓨터에 이용할 수 있는 자료를 살펴봄으로써 한국어 교육의 현황을 검토하였다. 컴퓨터를 언어 수업에 활용함으로써 의사 소통의 향상과 더불어 학습자에게 생산적인 학습 동기를 부여하고, 좀더 밀도 있는 수업으로 학습자의 주의를 집중시킬 수 있도록 언어의 네 가지 기술인 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기를 향상시키기 위해 컴퓨터를 어떻게 활용할 것인가를 제시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 컴퓨터를 효과적으로 활용한 수업 방안으로서, 언어의 네 가지 기술인 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기를 통합적으로 향상시킬 수 있는 수업을 제안하였다.;It is understood that the Korean language as a foreign language is one of the most difficult language for non-native Korean adults. Therefore, in order to promote effective learning, Korean language students need materials which provide continuous stimulation. Many Korean language teachers have prepared thorough systematic teaching materials, including a variety of audio-visual materials, but these materials' development was the result of trial and error. Even among learners at the same level, because of differences in their mother language, sex, age, language aptitude, educational level and cultural background, their goals, and expectations are also different. Therefore, individual learning practice is required so that each student can learn the language at a level and rate corresponding to their ability. The target of this thesis is two fold: (1) to provide strong motivation to adult learners of Korean as a foreign language so that they can adapt the knowledge of computer to teaching methods for more real-life communication and individual learning: and (2) to suggest how to utilize the computer for teacher to improve language skills, such as speaking, listening, reading and writing. In develpoing the thesis, first, the history of CALL and its background were introduced. Second, the merits and demerits of CALL when it is applied to language learning were explained. Third, the extent the use of computer for Korean language education was discussed. The present situation of computer-assisted Korean language education was also examined. Finally, the ways of helping the teachers to apply the computer to language teaching to improve learner's own personal language skills were proposed. Through their own self-improvement, teachers can improve students' communicative competence, motivate students better and assist learners to concentrate during intensive study. Effective uses of computer for lesson plan development which can, through integration, improve language's four skills were also suggested.
