색 조명을 통한 감성 표현 연구

Abstract

컬러 사진(color photographs)은 흑백 사진(black and white photographs)보다 더 많은 정보를 제공해 준다. 이 때문에 컬러 사진은 패션과 광고의 목적을 위해서 뿐만 아니라 색 자체가 개성적 표현 수단인 사진가들에게도 사용된다. 컬러 필름은 광원(light source)의 조건에 따라 서로 다른 색채 균형(color balance)을 보이는데, 그 결과 사람의 눈을 통해서 인식한 색과는 다르게 기록하기 때문에 인간의 시각으로 느끼기 어려운 새로운 색감에 의한 표현도 가능하게 된다. 본인은 이러한 컬러 필름의 특성을 이용하고 색 조명을 사용하여 개인의 감성 표현을 색채의 상징적 의미와 더불어 전달하고자 하였다. 또한 상업적인 현상소에 의존하여 결과를 기대하는 것에서 벗어나 개인이 추구하는 색을 최대한 표현하기 위해서 최종의 이미지를 충분히 조절할 수 있는 암실에서의 컬러 네거티브 인화(color negative printing)를 연구하여 작업에 활용하였다. 사진가가 최종 작업의 결과를 예측할 수 있을 때 작업의 표현가능성과 그 응용의 폭이 넓어질 수 있다. 특히 컬러 사진에서 색채균형과 색재현의 구현은 중요한 부분을 차지한다. 컬러 필름은 색채균형과 정확한 색재현을 위해서는 색보정이 필요하다. 이러한 색보정의 문제를 해결하기 위해 컬러 리버설 필름(color reversal film)에서는 주로 촬영시에 CC필터(Color Compensating Filter)와 LB 필터(Light Balancing Filter)를 사용하고 컬러 네거티브 필름(color negative film)에서는 인화과정에서 확대기 필터를 사용한다. 본인은 컬러 리버설 필름과 컬러 네거티브 필름의 특성을 비교분석하고 컬러 네거티브 인화를 중심으로 색보정 실험을 하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 작업의 결과를 예측하고 파악하여 본인이 직접 컬러 네거티브 인화로 최종 이미지를 조절하여 본인이 표현하고자 하는 색재현에 중점을 두었다. 본 실험에서의 연구와 작업의 결과를 통해 컬러 네거티브의 색재현의 가능성을 넓히고 작가 개인이 추구하는 이상적인 색을 최고의 결과로 나타내 보고자 한다. 또한 인간의 시각에서와 다른 독특한 사진적 색조로써 컬러를 언어적 기호로 하는 컬러 사진에 있어서 새로운 사진표현의 가능성을 열어주고자 한다.;Color photographs provide much more information than black and white photographs. Because of the above factor, color photographs are used for fashion and advertising, and by photo artists that the colors become the means to express their own individualities as well. Color film shows the different color balances according to light source. As a result, since color film records differently from the color realized by the human sight, it makes it possible to express the new color sense hard to felt by the human sight. I want to deliver the individual's sensibilities expression with symbolic meaning of color together by utilizing the above characteristics of color film and using color lighting. Also, I got out of expecting the results with depending on a commercial processing laboratory, then researched color negative printing in a dark room that can control sufficiently the final image to express greatest the color that an individual seeks, and utilized to the work. When an photo artist can forecast the result of final work, the ranges of expression possibility of work and its application can be widened. Specially, in color photographs color revision is necessary to color balance and color reproduction. In order to settle the color revision problem, color compensating filter and light balancing filter are usually used on photographing in color reversal film, enlarger filter is used on printing in color negative film. I compared and analyzed the characteristics of color reversal film and color negative film, and performed the color revision experiment concentrating on color negative printing. On the basis of the research results, I forecast the work result, recognize it, control by myself the final image through color negative printing, and concentrate on reproducing the color that I want to express. Through the research by this experiment and the work results I want to widen the possibility to reproduce the color of color negative and show the ideal color that an artist seeks as the greatest result. Also, I want to open the possibility of new photograph expression in the color photograph that the color is a language sign by the uniquely different color tone from the human sight.
