微光下의 이미지 再現에 關한 硏究

Abstract

현란하고 복잡한 도시의 풍경들은 도시적 삶의 리얼리티로서 새로운 감정을 유발해내는 실체이다. 사진과 도시를 하나의 축에 넣고 보면 그 속에는 2차원과 3차원이 하나가 된 듯한 기묘한 세계가 존재하는 듯 하다. 즉 인간의식의 공간 대신에 무의식의 공간이 현출하는 것이다. 넓은 의미에서 도시는 인간의 문화이다. 그 문화에 대한 접근법과 과정의 구현에 따라 우리는 서로 다른 문화를 체험하게 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 도시만이 가질 수 있는 빛들의 공간들을 문화로 간주하여 그 속에서 경험되는 이미지를 통해 또다른 의미의 체험을 찾는 것에 의의를 두고자 한다. 현대의 테크놀로지컬한 도시 풍경은 아이러니컬하게도 자연의 빛이 존재하지 않는 '밤'에만 생기를 얻는다. 이렇듯 도시의 야경은 낮의 강렬한 빛에서 벗어나 변화무쌍하고 민감한 새로운 빛들에 의해 또 다른 모습으로 살아나고 있다. 한 편 微光下의 이미지 재현에 있어 시각적인 화면구성을 위해서 도시라는 무대와 건축물이라는 소품을 이용하여 하나의 풍경을 구축하는 무대와의 요소관계를 성립시켜 정적인 풍경과 동적인 풍경의 관계를 적절히 이용하였다. 본인에게 있어 도시의 일상생활의 시작과 끝의 교차점에 있는 이 변덕스러운 빛들은 갖고 싶어서 손을 대면 사라지는 신기루 같은 존재였다. 이러한 빛들을 도시의 우울한 틈 사이에서 찾아내고자 하는 것은 빛 자체의 의미를 두기보다는 도시를 둘러싸고 있는 빛에 대한 이해로서 사진을 통해 시각적으로 표현하기 위함이다. 본인은 빛과 도시에 대한 이 연구를 통해 시각적으로 사고하는 방법이 여러 가지가 있다는 것을 암시하고자 한다.;The gorgeousness and complexity of urban landscapes are realities of urban life, and are an entity that reinvigorates us. Put photographs and a city together and you may feel as if there exists a strange world in which the second and the third dimensions of space have become one. That is, the subconsciousness unfolds in place of that of consciousness. In a broader sense, a city represents human culture. According to various approaches that we may take, we will encounter various types of culture. This research is focused on using photography to express whatever senses I have grabbed in my urban life into a form of poetry and visual images. What my photographs imply interests me more than what they depict. I tried to make elemental relationships between the stage of nature and the stage of urban life that constructs the landscape using buildings as mere props. And by adding light into the urban space, I have tried to induce poetic images as well as to make them reflect my personal experiences of urban life. That is to say, this research is not to represent reality. Rather it is focused on the power of landscape photography that expresses one's personal feelings of emotions and that transforms the realities of life.
