초등학교 저학년 어린이를 위한 교육용 Web site 디자인에 관한 연구

Abstract

수많은 정보가 하나의 네트워크로 연결된 인터넷은 누구든지 원하기만 하면 시간과 장소에 관계없이 필요한 자료를 검색하고 활용할 수 있게 하였으며, 이러한 장점은 각 분야의 여러 종사자들에게 놀라움과 함께 새로운 가능성을 제시하는 계기가 되었다. 이러한 가능성과 변화는 교육에 있어서도 예외는 아니었으며, 인터넷을 통한 어린이 교육 역시 크게 대두 되고 있는 실정이다. 하지만 대부분의 사이트가 정보를 데이터화하여 이를 전달 하는데에만 목적을 두고, 수용자의 연령이나 지적 수준, 취향, 능력 등은 거의 배제된 전형적인 문자위주의 전달 방법을 취하고 있기 때문에, 아직 언어적으로나 인지 발달적 측면으로 미성숙 단계에 있는 초등학교 저학년 어린이들에게는 인터넷을 통한 자발적인 학습에 어려움을 겪지 않을 수 없으며, 흥미 또한 떨어 질 수 밖에 없다. 이에 본 연구자는 시각 디자이너의 입장에서 보다 효율적인 인터넷을 통한 어린이 교육용 웹 사이트의 요건을 찾아보게 되었는데, 실제 제작을 통해 이를 구현해 보고 다음과 같은 새로운 전형(prototype)도 제시하게 되었다. 첫째, 학습내용의 전달방법에 있어 문자위주의 전달방식이 아닌 그림위주의 전달방식을 취해 어린이들의 이해도를 높일 수 있다는 것이다. 둘째, 전개방법에 있어서도 많은 내용을 그림으로 표현, 전달해야 하므로 메시지를 함축적으로 표현하여 그 의미가 오인되게 하기보다는 시간과 그 인과관계의 연속성을 통해 의미가 해석되고 파악될 수 있도록 내러티브를 통해 서술적으로 구성 전개한다는 것이다. 이는 수용자의 참여를 유도 할 수 있으며 학습의 효율성도 높일 수 있다. 셋째, 인터넷이라는 매체적 특성을 최대한 살린 멀티미디어형 학습공간이다. 즉, 그래픽, 영상, 사운드, 애니메이션등의 복합적인 상호작용으로 어린이가 직접 조작하고 활용하는 가운데 보다 능동적인 학습을 성취할 수 있다는 것이다. 넷째, 어린이의 지적 수준과 경험만으로도 쉽게 인지하고 이를 즉각적으로 판단하여 사용할 수 있는 은유적 환경의 학습공간이다. 재미있고 친근한 학습공간은 어린이의 자발적인 학습과 그 용이함을 줄 수 있다. 이러한 본 연구자의 제안과 방법이 실제 초등학교 저학년 어린이의 인터넷을 통한 교육용 웹 사이트에 효과적으로 응용되길 바라며, 여러 전문가의 관심있는 연구가 지속되길 기대한다.;Internet, which is one network connected with a number of informations, helps anyone to search and use the desired data regardless of time and place. Such a merit has become the start which raises surprise and new chances to people who engage in each field. Such chances and changes have also occurred in education and it is a trend that education of children through internet stands out in bold relief. However almost every site aims at only transferring informationized data and takes a typical text-oriented transferring method which excludes ages, intelligence quotients, tastes, abilities and etc. Therefore it is natural that lower class children in elemantary school, who are immature in view of language and intelligence, have a difficulty in self study through internet and have little interest. Now, as a graphic designer, I have found requirements of educational web-sites for children, realized them by manufacturing a fit thing and presented new prototype as follows. First, in view of transfering method of contents for study, illustration-oriented transferring method can make children understand more than text-oriented method. Second, in the development method, because of representing and transfering many contents with illustrations, we should construct and develop narratively so that the meaning may be analized and taken with continuity of time and causual relation without being misunderstood by implying the messages. This can induces participations of acceptors and raise the efficiency of study. Third, it is multimedia types of study space which maximizes the medium property of internet. That is, due to complex interactions of graphiic, video, sound, animation and etc. Children can study more positively in operating and using for themselves. Forth, it is mataphorical study space in which children can recognize easily, understand and use immediately with only intelligence quotient and experience of children. Interesting and friendly study space makes children study voluntarily and easily. I would like that my presentations and methods will be efficiently applied to educational web-sites of internet for really lower class children in elementary school, and passionate studies of many expents will continue.
