고등학교에서의 과학 비전공자를 위한 화학교육 실태

Abstract

본 연구는 우리나라 고등학교에서의 과학 비전공자, 즉, 일반계 고등학교의 인문·예·체능계, 예술 고등학교, 체육 고등학교, 실업계 고등학교 중 상업·가정·예술계열 그리고 산업체 부설 고등학교, 산업체 특별학급 등 앞으로 과학을 전공하지 않을 것이나 과학분야에 종사하지 않을 학생들을 대상으로 수행되는 우리나라 화학교육의 전반적인 실태를 고찰하고, 1970년 이후 20년간 외국에서의 이들 과학 비전공자들을 위한 과학교육 연구 논문들에 대하여 정리·분석하였다. 다가올 21세기의 첨단 산업사회와 과학 정보화 시대는 과학 전공자뿐만 아니라 과학 비전공자들도 함께 살아가야 하는 것이므로 이들 과학 비전공자들을 위한 화학교육의 나아갈 방향을 모색하고 특히, 이들에게 알맞은 과학/기술/사회의 역동관계 속에서 실생활과 연관된 다양하고 바람직한 교과서 개발의 필요성을 인식하게 하는데 역점을 두었다.;This research has been conducted mainly focusing on the general out look of the chemistry education for nonscience majur students in high schools. It has covered students of genernal high schools including humanities, arts, and physical education, arts high schools, physical education high schools, vocational high schools including commercial, home economics, and arts, high schools attached to industrial firms, and special evening classes for working youths. various foreign articles presented over the last twenty years on the chemistry education for the nonscience majors in their countries have been reviewed and analyzed. The 21st century is often characterized as a "high-tech industrial" or "scientific information" society where even the non-science majors as well as the science majors would not be allowed to remain as outsiders. In this context, it is designed to seek ways to promote effectiveness of the chemistry education for the nonscience majors. Also special emphasis has been put to awake people to realize the necessity of developing a variety of desirable textbooks which will provide students with practical skills and knowledge in the correlationship of science technology and society.
