금융환경변화에 따른 국내은행의 매수·합병 추진방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

The international and domestic circumstances of Financial Business Affairs is changing rapidly according to the open policy of financial market resulting from joining in OECD and receiving fund support of IMF and we are in situation that can not survive without change. Korean domestic banks that have depended on only competition between these domestic banks must be urgently changed to a large-sized bank with competition to cope with the banks of advanced conutries while international competition becomes more keen in the financial industry. In 1990's major advanced countries such as Unied States, Japan and Several European nations have had a general tendency to merge between large banks and/or acquire small banks. However, the Korean banks do not nearly have experience in merger between banks, and there may be caused a variety of problems with merger such as difference in viewpoint between groups. This study aims at suggesting merger strategy of Korean banks based on major advanced country experience.
