수피(樹皮)의 텍스츄어를 응용한 의상 디자인

Abstract

인간은 신체를 아름답게 꾸미려는 열망을 의상과 장식 등을 통해서 표현하여 왔으며 의상을 통한 자기표현의 욕구는 직물의 발달과 장식 기술의 발달을 가져왔다. 예술적인 장식의 모티브와 기법의 발달로 인해 다양한 텍스츄어의 표현기법을 도입한 직물이 의상의 소재로 사용되어오고 있다. 이러한 것들은 직물자체를 변형시키거나 다른 재료를 추가하여 조작된 텍스츄어를 이용하여 아름다움을 표현하여 왔다. 이에 본 연구는 현대적인 감각의 풍부한 텍스츄어를 의상 디자인에 응용하고자 디자인의 원천인 자연속에서 흔히 접할 수 있는 나무껍질, 즉 수피의 유기적이고 입체적인 텍스츄어를 주제로 선택하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 유기적인 자연의 이미지가 지닌 아름다움을 의상 디자인에 표현함으로써 안락한 분위기를 형성하여 사실적이고 온화한 자연의 경향으로 회귀하려는 현대 의상의 하나의 패션 경향을 표현하고 의상에 도입되는 텍스츄어의 표현 기법의 영역을 확대하여 시각적으로 의상 표면에 3차원의 공간을 형성함으로써 현대 의상의 입체적 조형성을 표현하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법은 이론적 배경으로 텍스츄어의 개념과 조형성을 문헌을 통하여 고찰하고 의상의 소재인 섬유의 텍스츄어에 영향을 주는 인자들에 대해서 살펴보았다. 또한 의상에 도입된 텍스츄어의 표현 기법을 참고자료 및 실험을 통해서 연구하였으며 자연을 주제로 한 조형 표현을 조사하여 디자인대상으로서의 자연의 중요성을 인식하였다. 작품의 주제인 수피의 텍스츄어의 조형적 특성을 연구하였으며 이를 토대로 수피의 텍스츄어를 다양한 기법을 사용하여 입체적으로 표현한 의상작품 8점을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이론적 배경을 고찰함에 있어 의상에 도입된 텍스츄어 표현 기법에 대한 체계적인 연구가 필요함을 인식하였다. 둘째, 수피의 텍스츄어를 이루는 선적인 요소 및 단위 형태들은 유기적으로 구성되어 있어 직물의 텍스츄어로 표현하기 적합한 모티브이다. 셋째, 수피의 텍스츄어를 입체적이고 창의적인 직물로 표현함에 있어 파이핑, 스모킹 및 홈질기법은 리듬감 있는 나무결의 무늬를 자유로이 표현할 수 있는 기법이었다. 네째, 염색에 의한 유사색의 점이적인 변화는 텍스츄어의 입체적인 표현과 직물 표면의 공간감을 효과적으로 조성하였다. 다섯째, 소재에 있어서 천연섬유인 모직물과 면직물은 염착성이 우수하고 기법에 의한 조형성이 뛰어나서 수피의 텍스츄어를 표현하기에 효과적이었다.;Man has expressed his desire to decorate his body beautifully through dresses and ornament and the desire of self-expression by dresses has brought into the development of texture and ornamental technique. The texture which is introduced with various expressive method of texture due to the development of the motive and method of artistic ornament has used as materials of clothing. That is the beauty has been expressed, using the texture prepared by transformation of texture itself or addition of other materials to it. From this, in this study, to apply rich texture of modern sense to the design of clothing, the organic and threedimensional texture of wood bark with which is easily contacted in the nature that is the source of design was chosen as subject. The purpose of this study is to express th formative nature of clothing by expanding the area of expressive method of texture which is being introduced to clothing to form three dimensional space on the surface of clothing visually and to express one of the fashion trends of modern clothing which tend to recur to realistic and warm nature by expressing the beauty of organic natural image in the design of clothing to form comfortable atmosphere. The contents and method of this study is to understanding the concept and the formative nature of texture and to examine the factors which influence on the fabric texture that is a material of clothing. The expressive method of texture which is introduced to clothing was investigated through references and was examined through the materials collected. And also, the importance of nature was recognized by searching the formative expression based on nature. The dresses which express the texture of wood bark three dimensionally were produced with the study of the characteristic for the formative expression wood bark texture. The works are total eight, and new image was expressed by application of wood bark texture to dresses vsriously. The summary of the results of this study is as follows : First, in investigation of teoretical background, it demanded that the systematical study for the method of texture expression introduced to clothing. Second, I found that the line factor and unit shape of wood bark texture were suitable for expression of cloth texture as they were constituted organically. Third, in the expression of wood bark texture threedimensionally, the cloth by devide of plane could be produced by using piping and broad stitching method. Fourth, the gradual change of similar colors owing to dyeing constituted effectively the three dimensional expression of texture and the spatial sense of cloth surface. Fifth, as materials, wool and cotton were effective for the expression of wood bark texture, as they are easy to dye and have eminent formative nature by methods.
