사회 관습적 사건과 도덕적 사건에 대한 유아와 교사의 반응에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 유아들 사이에서 자연스럽게 사회 관습적 사건과 도덕적 사건이 일어났을 때 유아와 교사가 사회 관습적 사건과 도덕적인 사건에 대해 어떻게 반응을 하는지 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 1. 관습적 사건과 도덕적 사건에 대한 유아와 교사의 반응은 어떠한가? 2. 관습적 사건과 도덕적 사건에 대한 유아와 교사의 반응 형태는 어떠한가? 본 연구의 대상은 유아반과 유치반에 속한 유아와 그들을 담당한 교사로 서울 시내에 있는 7개 유치원을 선정하여 한 학급당 2회씩 유아반 14회, 유치반 14회, 총 28회 관찰을 실시하였다. 관찰자는 교실에서 유아나 교사로부터 반응을 불러일으키는 사건을 표집하여 반응 범주 관찰 기록표에 기록하였다. 수집된 자료는 관습적 사건과 도덕적 사건에 따른 유아와 교사의 반응과 그 형태를 빈도화하여 x^(2)검증을 하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 관습적인 사건에는 유아보다 교사가 더 많은 반응을 보였고 도덕적인 사건에는 교사보다 유아가 더 많은 반응을 보였다. 2. 교사는 관습적인 사건에 있어서는 도덕적인 사건보다 명령, 회상, 규칙 진술, 원리 제시,조망 수용 요구의 반응을 더 많이 보였고 도덕적인 사건에 있어서는 관습적인 사건보다 동기 집중의 반응을 더 많이 보였다. 유아는 관습적인 사건에는 별로 반응을 보이지 않았으며 도덕적인 사건에는 신체적 보복, 감정적인 반응, 교사의 참여, 상해 또는 상실 진술, 동기 집중, 명령의 순서로 반응을 보였다.;The aim of this study is to see how children respond to social conventional and moral events during free play. For this purpose, two research questions were raised; 1. How differently do children and teachers respond to social conventional and moral events? 2. What types of responses do children and teachers make to social conventional and moral events? The observations were conducted at 7 kindergartens in Seoul city. In each school, two classes were selected; younger (4 yrs) and older (5 yrs). Two observational sessions were conducted within each class. Observers scanned the room and coded all responses to transgressions on a standard checklist. On the basis of the observed data, two types of analysis were performed: (a) comparisons of the relative frequences of conventional and moral events eliciting a response, (b) comparisons of the frequences of types of responses to conventional events with frequences of types of responses to moral events. The results are as follows: 1. While teachers showed more responses to conventional events than children, children showed more responses to moral events than teachers. 2. Teachers showed more frequent command, reminder, rule statement, providing rationale, perspective-taking request responses to conventional events than moral events. As was expected, teachers showed more frequent focus on motives responses to moral events than to social conventional events. Children showed few responses to social conventional events. But children generally responded to the moral events as victims of transgressions. The major types of responses to moral events made by children were retributive physical responses, emotional responses, involve adults, injury or loss statement.
