바지패션에 관한 고찰

Abstract

본 논문은 여성복으로써 바지가 정착되어져가는 과정을 살펴보고 현대의 바지패션의 흐름을 분석하였다. 19세기말경 스포츠가 활발히 보급되면서 보다 기능적이고 활동하기에 적합한 스포츠웨어가 요구되자 중세에는 남자들만의 복식이었던 바지가 스포츠의 발달로 여성들에게 입혀지기 시작하였으며 이것은 여성복식을 변화시키는 계기가 되었다. 스포츠웨어는 이제 일상복으로까지 발전하여 모든 캐쥬얼한 경우에도 입혀지게 되었으며 바지는 이브닝 웨어로까지 착용되었다. 1970년대 이후 바지는 기능성과 활동성은 물론 하나의 패션물로서 중요한 역할을 하게 되었고 캐쥬얼 웨어의 부상과 더불어 더욱 발달하였으며, '80년대에 들어선 오늘날의 바지패션은 하나의 방향성만을 보여주는 것이 아니라 스타일이나 소재면에서 다양하게 전개되었다. 스타일이 길고 짧은 것, 넓고 좁은 것, 구축적이거나 비구축적인 것 등이 함께 공존하고 서로 조합되어지며 소재면에서는 다분히 천연 소재 지향으로 세련되고 자연스러움을 표현하였다. 스포츠웨어의 史的考察을 통해서 여성복이 기능화 되어가는 과정과 여성복에서의 바지의 역할과 위치를 살펴보고 현대의 급변하는 시대상 속에서 세분화되어진 라이프 스타일에 부합되는 보다 합리적이고 개성적인 바지패션의 방향을 모색하고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 스포츠웨어가 본격적으로 대중화되기 시작한 20세기를 중심으로 바지의 패션화 과정을 고찰하였으며, 선행되어진 논문과 문헌자료를 중심으로 스포츠웨어의 역사적 발달과정과 여성복의 기능화 과정을 고찰하고, 전문 패션지와 패션 정보지를 중심으로 바지패션이 붐( boom)을 이루게 된 1978년에서 1987년까지의 최근 10년간 바지에 관한 일반적 사항과 실루엣의 추이를 복식패션과 함께 구분하여 살펴보았다. 시대적인 복식을 연구한다는 것은 단순한 과정만을 살펴본다기 보다는 아주 복잡다기한 심리학적·사회학적·미학적인 제요소의 상관작용을 보는 데 있으므로 본 연구도 이런 차원에서의 기초적인 자료를 마련하고자 하는 것이다.;This thesis aims to analyze how the pants to have been worn and what the modern fashion of the pants is. The more functional and comfortable sportswears have been required along with the rapid population of sports from the end of the 19th Century. Thus, Women starts to wear pants which were mainly for men in the Middle Ages. As a result, the population of Women's fashion has changed since then. Nowadays, the sports wears become to be the casual wears and, the pants to be even the evening wears. The pants have been developed as being the casual wears since those play important roles of rho fashion where the function and the activity-characteristics are emphasized in 1970s. And the pants have been settled down in the ways of "styles' and "materials" in 1980s. In other words, the fashion of the pants defends upon not only the length, the width, and the structure, but also the various natural fibers as the materials. With the observation of the history of sportswear, this study is also devoted to analyze the role and meaning of the pants as a part of women's constumes and to seek the trend of the pants fashions of the modern society characterized by the individuality and the rationality, with respect to the psychology, the socialogy and the aesthetics.
