군복 이미지를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

복식은 그 시대의 미적 기준을 바탕으로 그 시대의 특유의 형태(Form)를 창조하므로 그 시대의 정신, 사상, 정서 내지는 미적 가치를 표출한다고 할 수 있다. 어느 시대를 막론하고 그 시대에 일어났던 큰 사건들은 유행에 많은 영향을 미쳤다. 복식에 영향을 주는 여러 가지 요인들이 있겠지만 중 전쟁이나 혁명과 같은 구체적이고도 큰 사건이 요인이 되기도 한다. 복식사적으로 살펴볼 때 전쟁과 혁명은 패션을 변화시키는데 중요한 촉매 작용을 하였다. 특히 20C에 들어와 1,2차 세계대전은 패션에 지대한 영향력을 발휘하였다. 이는 생활 양식의 변화 뿐 아니라 밀리터리룩 이라는 새로운 패션을 유행시켰다. 밀리터리룩은 군복의 이미지 또는 부분 형식에서 아이디어를 얻어 군복 요소를 응용하여 디자인한 넓은 범위의 군복 스타일이다. 본 연구는 군복의 형식적 특징과 이미지를 도입 디자인하여 첫째, 기존 밀리터리룩의 고정 관념을 타파할 수 있는 보다 다양하고 정돈된 이미지를 추구하고 둘째, 1벌에서 다양한 연출을 가능케 하는 다 기능적 디자인으로 고부가치를 창출해 패션산업의 대외 경쟁력을 신장시킬 수 있는 요소를 제공하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로 전쟁이 패션에 끼친 영향을 복식사적 측면에서 문헌 조사하였고, 밀리터리룩의 개념과 성립 배경, 특징, 유형 등을 군복과 비교 분석하였다. 또한 최근 90년대 밀리터리룩의 실례를 분석 제시하였다. 작품 제작시 기존 밀리터리룩의 유형에서 변화를 주어 보다 부드럽고 여성적인 디자인을 의도하였다. 국방색(카키)을 주조로 하여 형태 디자인을 다양하게 하였고, 디테일과 액세서리 장식으로 포인트를 주었다. 소재에 있어서 비의상 소재인 군용 담요와 비닐, 온도감응 소재 등을 도입하여 소재선택 및 활용 범위를 넓히고자 하였다. 이와 같은 연구 과정을 통해 총 8점의 작품을 제작하였고 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보다 창의적인 디자인을 통해 밀리터리 룩 디자인의 고정된 유형에서 탈피하여 밀리터리룩의 다양성을 제시해 주었다. 둘째, 옷의 구조상 단조로움을 피하기 위해 한 벌에서 여러 벌의 연출이 가능한 다기능적 디자인을 했으며 또한 패션 상품으로서 고부가가치를 줄 수 있는 요소임을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 비의상 소재인 군용 담요나 비닐, 신 소재 등을 도입하여 다양한 소재 사용의 가능성을 넓혀 주었다. 그러므로 본 연구의 디자인 모티브인 '군복의 이미지'는 앞으로도 다양한 방법으로 복식 디자인의 시도가 가능하다고 보며, 본 연구를 통해 전쟁의 종결을 희망하며, 밀리터리룩의 다양성을 인식하고, 평화적 메시지를 담은 보다 여성스럽고 창조적인 밀리터리룩이 확대되는 계기가 되었으면 한다.;Dress and Ornaments, based on particular period's standard of beauty, create that specific time's unique form. Therefore, it wouldn't be much of and exaggeration to say that it represents that period's spirit, image, sentiment or the value of beauty. Regardless when, any big incidents occurred in the past had always influenced fashion with a great deal. Among those incidents that effect dress and ornaments, a war or a revolution can sometimes be the definite origin. According to the studies of dress and ornaments' history, a war or a revolution catalyzed with importance in changing the fashion, especially the first and the second World War in this 20th century. They changed not only the style of living but also brought a new fashion called the 'Military look' into vogue. Basically, the "Military look' gained its idea partially from the military clothing, and modified it into a reasonable style. So hereupon, by designing these characteristics and images of military uniform, I would like to pursuit the followings. First, to seek image that is more feminine, more well-organized and could break down the existing fixed idea of the 'Military look'. Second, to create and supply with essentials for external competition by having developed such design which is multi-functional(i.e. presenting more than just one look with one single cloth). Foe such purpose and to help me understanding the background, I studied the effect of a war on fashion with its historical records and analyzed through a comparison of military uniform and distinctive features, original background of the 'Military look'. Plus, I also analyzed and presented on actual example of the latest 'Military look' in the 90th years. In process of creating the item, I concentrated in feminism and softness by modifying the existing kinds of the 'Military look'. By using khaki color as the main current, I devised the design but emphasized details and accessaries. Futhermore, I also tried to extend the choice and practical use of materials by using a military blanket which is not a common material. As a result of all the stages of the stages of making(producing) the hem that are mentioned above, I made all 8 works. The followings are the outcome. First, I broke down and presented with various characteristics of the 'Military look' through more feminine and creative design. Second, I created a design which is multifunctional, so that I could insure the position to compete against the 'high-addtional valued stocks'. Third, I extended the choice of materials by using a military blanket. Fourth, as it is shown in 96, 97 A/W Collection, the 'Military look' is coming into vogue. Thus this hem added value as a fashion stock. Therefore, I think the special images of military uniform which is the design motive of this study, are able to be used to develop and to challenge the dress designing, and I personally hope that wars end forever and this study provides an opportunity for an expansion of the 'Military look' by understanding the peaceful message of feminism and creativity.
