꼴라쥬를 이용한 어린이 일러스트레이션 연구

Abstract

어린이가 환상의 세계를 받아들이는 것은 상상력과 경이의 마음이 있기 때문이다. 또 어린이는 일러스트레이션을 접하면서 자기가 대신 경험한 것 같은 느낌을 받는다. 그러므로 일러스트레이션은 그 느낌에 있어서 시각으로부터 일층 더 강렬한 인상을 받기 때문에 매우 중요하다. 어린이가 새롭고 희한한 미지의 세계를 어떻게 보는가, 어떻게 느끼는가를 알고 있는 일러스트레이터의 마음에 의하여 그려져야 할 것이다. 따라서 일러스트레이션은 어린이의 인지발달과 심성형성에 끼치는 영향이 매우 크기에 일러스트레이터의 적임의식이 강조된다고 하겠다. 그중에서도 꼴라쥬 일러스트레이션은 일러스트레이터의 상상력의 표현에 폭을 더 한층 넓힐 수 있다는 면에서 개인의 독창적인 개성을 창출할 수 있다는데 그 의의를 가질 수 있겠다. 상이한 소재들의 다양한 조합으로 재료의 선택이 광범위하기 때문이다. 이에 본인은 입체주의 시대부터 시작된 꼴라쥬를 이용해서 어린이 일러스트레이션을 제작하고자 하였다. 본 논문의 구성은 Ⅱ장에서는 이론적 배경으로 꼴라쥬의 개념과 꼴라쥬의 발생에서부터 그 시대별 특성과 발전과정을 살펴 보았다. 화면의 현실성(reality) 회복수단으로 쓰여져 예술사조에 지대한 영향을 끼친 꼴라쥬를 Ⅲ장에서는 일러스트레이션 측면에서 연구했다. 풍부한 시각적 경험을 주는 어린이 일러스트레이션으로서의 꼴라쥬가 어린이 정서에 미치는 영향과 꼴라쥬 일러스트레이션의 특성과 더불어 작가에 대하여 알아보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 꼴라쥬의 특성을 이용해서 재료에서 오는 재질감과 더불어 제작방법의 다양성으로 인해 어린이 일러스트레이션을 효과적으로 표현하기 위해서 주위에서 쉽게 찾을 수 있는 인쇄된 잡지, 포장지 등을 이용하여 재료에서 오는 재질감과 제작방법의 다양성을 꼴라쥬화 하므로서 동화의 내용을 작품으로 전개했다. 이번 연구를 통해서 꼴라쥬 일러스트레이션의 다양한 기법과 내용을 풍부하게 하는 재료에 대한 감각을 배울 수 있었다. 그것은 순수미술 영역안에서 실용적인 미술영역으로, 그 시대의 사회·문화를 반영한 예술사조의 필요성과 중요성은 일러스트레이터에게 작품의 폭을 넓혀 가는 밑거름이 된다고 믿기 때문이다. 다양한 꼴라쥬 일러스트레이터의 작품들과 그들의 작가관은 본인의 작업세계에 있어서 좋은 자극제가 될 수 있었다. 그러나 꼴라쥬 일러스트레이션 작품 제작과정에서 각기 다른 요소들의 결합으로 인한 통일성의 문제가 과제로 남는다고 하겠다.;The child is open to the world of fantasy because the child's mind is filled with curiosity and imagination. Through the appreciation of illustration, the child receives a strong impression replacing reality with what he sees. In effect, the fact that illustrations are visual impressions, the child is easily mesmerized. The illustrator must always keep the child's eye in mind when drawing the alternate reality that may be presented to the young art critic. How do they view the world and how do they feel about it? The responsibility of the illustrator is especially emphasized since illustrations have such a strong effect on the cognitive sense and imagination in its expressive depth and the expression of the artists personality. The wide variety of materials and sometimes contradicting themes that may meet on the common plane of collage art have endless potential. This is why the following project concentrated on the use of collage for the creation of illustration for children. In Chapter Ⅱ, the theoretical history and the concept of collage from its beginnings in cubism and through the years its development and characteristics according to era. Collage which also brought reality to the canvas and had a strong effect on modern art is approached from the illustration aspect in Chapter Ⅲ. The effects of the abundant visual stimulation offered by a work of collage art and the child's reaction to the stimulation are covered in Chapter Ⅳ. The collage art work is comprised of easily approachable materials such as magazines and wrapping paper. The artwork represents children's fairy tales and imaginative illustration using the various materials and design methods available trough collage art. The idea of utilizing such a resourceful method of expressing art can be exhilarating which is one of the merits of collage which allows the artist to approach the arts with a variety of methods. Illustration is a fast-growing aspect of the fine arts which is categorized as practical art. The very same artistic ideas and theories which effect fine art is also the base for illustrations. The stimulating effects of the collage illustrators and their theories acted as a base for the illustrations done for the study. The remaining aspects of the collage illustration that the artists need to cover would be to discover unity and continuity among various materials in the methodology of collage art.
