선인장의 조형성을 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

자연의 형태는 오랜 세월을 거치면서 환경과 상황에 의해 이룩된 것이며 그러기에 자연은 모든 형상의 기초이고 조화와 균형의 척도라 할 수 있다. 인간은 이렇게 조화로운 자연 속에서 미의식을 갖게 되었으며 조형활동을 하면서 자연의 미를 다양한 각도로 응용해 왔다. 이러한 인간의 조형의지는 단순히 자연의 모방에 그치는 것이 아니라 자연미의 범주를 넘어서서 인간의지가 개입된 보다 성숙하고 우수한 미의식을 추구하게 됐다. 본 연구자는 무한한 예술적 소재인 자연 중에서 독특한 형태미를 갖춘 선인장을 자연대상으로 선택해서 선인장 고유의 형태 위에 변화와 재조합을 통한 인공적인 미를 더해서 의상에 응용하고자 했다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로 자연과 조형의 개념과 관계를 파악하고, 자연형태를 응용한 조형작품과 의상디자인을 통해 자연형태의 다양한 응용법을 알아보았으며 자연대상으로 선택한 선인장에 대해 종류 및 형태를 살피고, 의상디자인에 응용하는 이유와 방법등을 연구했다. 이를 근거로 총 8벌의 작품을 제작했으며 선인장 형태의 선별과 재조합, 스웨이드 재봉에 의한 형태표현 연구의 과정을 거쳐 여러가지 변형이 가해진 보다 새롭고 독창적인 형태미를 의상 디자인에 표현했다. 이러한 연구를 통해서 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인간의 조형활동에 있어서 가장 근원적 소재인 자연의 조형성을 연구함으로써 모든 인공적 조형물에는 자연미의 요소가 내포되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 자연을 응용한 모든 조형작품은 자연의 모방에 그치지 않고 관찰과 실험을 통해 인간의지가 개입되면서 자연미에 인공미가 더해진 보다 우수한 미적가치를 갖게 됨을 알았다. 셋째, 선인장의 형태를 연구함에 있어서 자연 형태의 오묘한 법칙을 찾을 수 있었고 그것을 축소, 과장, 단순화등의 방법으로 변형하고 재조합하는 과정에서 더욱 다양한 형태를 만들어 낼 수 있었다. 넷째, 선인장의 곡선적 형태미를 표현하기 위해 스웨이드 중 돈피를 사용했으며 이는 돈피의 재질적 특성이 선인장의 다소 두께있는 질감과 유사하기 때문이고, 돈피의 신축성으로 말미암아 파이핑 기법을 응용한 곡선 구성이 효과적으로 연출되고 퀼팅시 탄력성의 효과를 높일 수 있었다. 다섯째, 천연소재인 돈피는 염색이 용이하여 분무염을 점진적으로 사용함으로써 형태가 갖는 입체감을 극대화 시킬 수 있었다.;The shape of nature has been affected by environment and situation, so we can say that naute is the basis of all figures and the standard of harmony and balance. Human beings have come to recognize beauty in this harmonized nature, and applied the beauty of nature in many ways through modeling activities. This human being's will to modeling is not merely the imitation of naure, but also pursuing more mature and superior recognition of beauty which human will involves in. I chose of harmony which has unique beauty as a natural object, and tried to apply the shape of a cactus to clothes by adding artificial beauty. Also with the spiritual aspects of a cactus which adjusts itself in the extreme situation, I tried to express the inside world of clothes design. As theoretical background, I examined the concept and relationship between nature and modeling and studied on the kinds and shapes of cactuses and the reason and way of applying them to clothes design. On the basis of those mentioned above, I producted total 8 pieces of work. Through sorting and recombining the shape of a cactus and studying shape expression by swade sewing, I searched for a new type of beauty from original shape of a cactus. Through this study, I came to know human beings can develop the beauty of nature better through modeling activities, and apply it in various ways. Also, I could learn how to transform and recombine the shape of nature and to express swade materials variously by applying the modeling character of a cactus to clothes design.
