부드러움의 한국이미지 표현연구

Abstract

전통이란 한시대나 어느시점에 머무르는 것이 아니고 역사의 흐름속에서 존재하면서 과거, 현재, 미래를 연결하고 그 민족문화의 특성을 보여준다. 또한 그 특성은 한 개인의 모습이 아닌 집단적 공동의식의 대상이 되어 전통이라는 명목으로 보존되는 것이다. 외래문화의 영입으로 이런 전통문화의 갑작스런 쇠퇴와 물질만능주의 현상이 팽배해졌으나 근래의 우리 주변에서는 과거 모더니즘의 영향으로 우리의 전통유산을 등한시 하려는 풍조에서 벗어나 우리의 전통유산을 생활주변으로 끌어들이려는 노력이 전개되고 있다. 사회전반에 걸쳐 일기 시작한 우리것찾기 운동은 디자인계에도 한국적 정서를 주제로한 작품제작을 시대적으로 요구하게 되었다. 예술가는 어느시대이건 자신이 살아가는 시대에 속해있고 그 시대의 여러 의식들에 서로 영향을 주면서 살아간다. 즉 예술은 한나라 문화의 핵심을 이루며 그속에서 그 시대의 사상과 감정을 표현하는 것이다. 그러므로 예술가들이 표현하는 조형언어는 그 형태와 의미가 우리문제, 삶, 장래에 대한 관심에서 비롯하며 그것은 우리의 깊숙한곳에서 우리의 조형언어를 끌어내므로 이루어진다고 보았다. 커뮤니케이션에 있어서 시각적 개념은 인간사고를 존재로 나타내는것일뿐만 아니라 '인간의 살아있는공간'으로서 인간의 감각과 상상력이 표출되는 장인 것이다. 이러한 시각에서 본연구는 우리가 갖고있는 본질적인 세계속의 한국의 조형성과 한국인의 미의식이 어떠하였는지 알아보았으며 다양한 시각에서 연구된 미의식중에서 특히 부드러움이라는 개념을 가지고 연구에 임하였다. 꾸밈없는 소박함속에서, 어딘지모르게 약해보이지만 내재된 내적 깊이속에서, 뭔가 분명하지 못하지만 그속에 아름다움을 갖고있는 한국인의 전통양식중 그 가치성을 찾아 자부심을 느낄수 있을때에 우리의 전통에 대한 현대적 계승은 물론 바르고 정확한 커뮤니케이션으로 한국적 디자인의 위치를 확고히 할수 있으리라 본다. 그러므로 1장에서는 한국인의 특성중 우리만의 독특한 가치성에 관하여 알아보았으며 2장에서는 부드러움에 대한 정의와 그 특성이 잘 나타나는 우리 전통춤에 대해서 분석하고 그것을 바탕으로 새로운 이미지를 추구하고자 하였다.;Tradition never ceases to be stagnant at a certain period or point of time but continues to manifest a folk culture subsisting in the stream of history and connecting past, present and future. Such folk culture has been preserved as so named tradition, an object of commonly and collectively shared senses, not as individally perceived. Historically in Korea, the influx of Western cultures brought about the abrupt decay of "our" traditional culture while fostering materialism in large measure. A very recent maillieu, however, marks a new era of attempting to bring the heritage of such foregone traditional culture near towards us in life eschewing the "modernism" passively adopted in the past and in disregard of our cultural heritage. As is true in other arena in the Korean society, in the arts of design today a movenment in arts with emphasis on our cultural senses demands art works which pemeat Koreaness. An artist lives a life at a confined time period in close affiliation with contemporary consciousness while interacting with various ideas of his or her life and influencing those of others at the same time. In other words, art as a crux of culture is an experssion manifesting thourghts and senses of contemporaneity. Therefore, forms and meanings expressed by way of an artist's formative language tend to be viewed as stemming deep down from concerns and interest on our problems, life as well as future. The concept of vision in communication operates not only as an existentiol expression of human thoughts, but also is a field of 'living space' expression making explicit human senses and imagination. With the foregoing views in mind, this study searches for forms that a Korean culture takes in essence as well as "beauty senses" Korean possess in general and 'softness concept' in particular. In order to strengthen the firm foundation of the Korea design arts, it asks for people's serious contemplation and self-esteem of what Korea retain as heritage, the "Korea traditional forms" with subliminal yet sublime beauties existing on a deep bottom. It entails correct communication with precision to succeed to a genuine Korean design arts of traditional trends. In this respect, Chapter Ⅰ, discusses what Koreans value in their minds and Chapter Ⅱ makes analysis of the Korean traditional dances that well characterize softness in definitive terms, thereby making possible a prospective exploration of a new image.
