조류를 통한 감성적 자연이미지 표현

Abstract

자연은 모든 생물체의 불변적 터전이면서 인간 삶의 원천으로서의 의의를 지니고 있다. 자연의 섭리로 태어나고, 자연의 일부로서 존재하고 있는 인간은 그 한정적이고 불확실한 삶과 경험에 대해 무한한 배경과 다양한 차원에서 고정적이나 밀폐성같은 것이 존재하지 않은 풍부하고 무궁무진한 자연을 끝없는 예술창조의 대상으로 삼고 있다. 이처럼 자연은 예술가에게 있어 조형행위의 대상으로써 예술가의 조형의지에 따라서 다양하게 표현되어져 왔다. 섬유를 장식하기 위한 방법으로 시작되어온 염색공예도 인간의 심미적 욕구를 충족시키면서 점차 독자적인 조형성을 추구하는 하나의 예술로서 발전되고 있다. 본 연구자는 자연속에 존재하는 물상중에서 강렬한 색과 이국적인 형태의 조류를 소재로 선정하여 연구자 고유의 독창적인 미의식의 표출에 합당한 표현방식을 통하여 생명력과 휴식을 느낄 수 있는 공간으로서의 자연이미지를 표현하고자 하는데 연구목적이 있다. 이를 위한 이론적 기반으로 예술과 자연 그러고 본 연구자의 작품에서 열대 이미지의 표현을 위해 가장 중시했던 자연과 색채에 대하여 고찰하였으며, 미술에 나타난 조류와 열대이미지 표현을 문헌과 작품들을 통하여 살펴보았다. 이를 바탕으로 하여 견섬유(C.D.C)에 납방염법을 이용한 10점의 작품제작 및 분석을 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 먼저, 자연은 예술창조에 무한한 소재를 제공해 주며 이것은 작가나름대로의 미적 감성을 통하여 새로운 예술작품이 창조될 수 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 미술가와 감상자의 영혼간에 가장 직접적인 교감을 이루게 하는 요소인 색채를 미술가는 주제와 색의 특성사이에 완전한 정신적 일치를 형성하도록 조화 있게 사용해야 가치가 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 미술에 나타난 조류의 표현에 대한 고찰을 통해서는 조류에 대한 주관적인 시각을 형성하기 위한 바탕이 되었다. 또한, 강렬한 원색의 조류와 식물들은 그 이국적인 색과 형태들 때문에 본 연구자의 자연에 대한 꿈과 동경을 담고 있는 감성적 자연이미지를 표현하는데 적합하였다. 견섬유(C.D.C)에 납방염을 이용한 작품제작은 염료와 섬유의 특성파악이나 기법상의 어려움이 따르지만, 발색도와 견뢰도가 뛰어난 섬유의 특성과 섬세하고 선명한 색상의 표현에 적합한 기법상의 이점으로 강렬하고 생명력 넘치는 자연이미지 표현에 적절하였음을 알 수 있었다. 제작과정에서의 문제점으로는 본 연구자의 내면세계에 내재하는 이국적 이미지의 자연을 표현하고자 선정했던 조류와 식물들의 표현이 부분적인 관찰과 스케치를 통하여 이루어진 간접체험의 산물이기 때문에 화면의 구성과 색의 조화가 다소 어색한 점이 아쉬움으로 남는다. 본 연구자는 이러한 연구과정을 통하여 작품의 문제점을 발견하고 그 해결방법을 모색하여 '나'만의 독특한 미적 심성이 투영된 시각적 표현으로서의 염색으로 나아가고자 한다.;Nature is an indestructible habitat of all the living things and has a meaning as a fountainhead of human beings. Human beings born in natural laws and existing as a part of nature use rich and inexhaustible nature that has no fixation or closeness against that of finite and uncertain life and experiences of human beings as subject of art creation. Like this e has been expressed in dviersee ways as subjects of formative actions as artist wills to have a certain type of forms of creation. Dyeing industrial arts which began as a method for adorning textiles has been gradually developed as an art seeking independent formativeness while satisfying aesthetical desire of human beings. This writer selected plants and birds of powerful colors and exotic shapes as subject among things in nature and through proper means for expression of unique, independent and aesthetic sense of the writer aimed to express natural image of a space where life force and rest can be felt. To this end, this writer studied expressions of birds as presented in arts, relation of arts and nature, nature and colors as very importart visual elmements in the course of work to gain insight to theoretical background and reached the following conclusion through creation and analysis of 10 art works: First of all, nature offers endless materials for creation of arts and through aesthetic sensitivity of the writer possibility of creating new art works could be detected and through study of expressions of birds presented in arts it provided basis for forming subjective perceptions. Furthermore birds and plants of powerful original colors were suitable to expression of dreams and yearnings for nature. Problems encountered in the course of production were somewhat awkward composition of canvas and harmony of color of expression of selected birds and plants attributable to their being product of vicarious experiences formed through partial observation and sketches. Through the process of research this writer intends to pursue the path of dyeing as visual expression being projected with aesthetical imergy unique to 'me' alone by discovering problems and ways for its solutions.
