색화장토를 응용한 도자 조형 표현 연구

Abstract

Art requires various methodologies of expression, having organized relations to contemporary circumstances. A style of External expression can create the new meaningful value with aesthetic necessity. Among these modes of expression, the technique of Punch'ong decoration has simple and folk characteristics. The purpose of this paper is to bestow the artistic value on modem ceramics by expressing ceramic modeling with applying the technique of Punch'ong surface decoration remaining in the history to various forms. As the theoretical background, by considering the changes of Punch'ong pot, the characteristic and kindness of its surface decoration technique and art work cases applied by the Punch'ong technique, this research tries to express the artistics of Punch'ong technique and the structural work following to the new forms of creatures. The design of work transforms the basic forms and makes modeling to express decoration technique freely. The method of working is slip casting technique, the clay is Koreadoto and to express the beauty of various designs the Pink, Black, Cobalt, Gray, Green, Blue of modem chemical cosmetics are mixed with Hwajangto. The first baking was carried out in a 0.25m3 electric furnace up to 8200C for 8 hours and the second baking was oxidized in 0.3m3 gas furnace up to 12500C for 12 hours. Glaze was sprayed with transparent glaze for effective colours. From this study, this research was able to get visual effect by decorating the surface of the forms with plain atmosphere which is not glorious. Also, the focus of this study is to harmonize modeling with decoration by ornamenting the parts of the forms other than whole features in expressing the theme of Punch'ong technique. From this process, I become to recognize the characteristics of decorating technique in varius points of view and this will be the foundations of creative act in the future.;예술은 인류 역사속에서 그 시대적 상황과 서로 유기적인 관계를 가지며 다양한 변화와 표현기법을 요구하고 있다. 표현양식은 미학적요구로 의미있는 새로운 가치를 창조할 수 있다. 이러한 표현양식 중 분청 장식 기법은 단순하면서도 소박한 민족적 성격을 띠고 있다. 이에 본연구자는 역사의 한 기법으로 남아 잇는 분청 표면 장식 기법을 다양한 도자조형물에 적용시키고 색화장토로 문양을 장식함으로써 현대도자에 전통기법의 미적 가치를 부여하고자 하는데 연구의 목적을 가지고 있다. 이론적 배경으로는 분청사기의 변천, 분청사기의 표면장식 기법의 특징과 종류, 색화장토를 장식기법으로 응용한 작품사례를 고찰함으로써 분청기법의 예술적 표현과 함께 새로운 형태의 창조로 이어지는 조형화 작업을 시도해 보고자 한다. 또한, 작품에 표현된 기법은 제작과정과 형태상의 특징에 따라 상감, 박지, 음각, 귀얄, 철화의 분청장식기법만을 선택하여 장식하였다. 작품의 대부분이 백색도가 높은 태토를 사용하였기 때문에 색화장토를 사용하였다. 색화장토를 사용함으로써 문양에서 나타나는 효과와 태토의 배색이 잘 이루워 지도록 제작하였다. 작품의 디자인은 다양한 장식기법을 자유스럽고 표현하기 쉽게 형태를 변형시켜 제작하였다. 제작방법으로는 적재시 동일한 형태의 반복을 위해 거푸집을 이용한 이장주입기법으로 하였으며 태토는 고려도토와 청자토를 사용하였고 다양한 문양의 아름다움을 표현하기위해 현대화학의 안료 Pink(D-3000) 1.5%, Black(M-850) 1%, Cobalt(M-927) 1%, Gray(영국 BIYTHE14T 424) 1.5%, Green(M-55) 0.5%, Blue(M-1700) 1%를 각각 백화장토에 혼합하여 사용하였다. 1차소성은 0.25㎥ 전기가마에서 8시간에 걸쳐 820℃까지 산화소성 하였으며 2차소성은 0.3㎥ 가스가마와 전기가마에서 12시간에 걸쳐 마침온도를 1250℃로 〈작품 1,2,4,5,6,7,8〉은 산화소성하였고, 〈작품 3,9,10〉은 환원소성하였다. 유약은 색화장토의 효과적인 발색과 형태 대부분이 각으로 형성되어져 있기 때문에 투명유로 분무시유 하였다. 본 연구에서는 분청 장식 기법의 성격상의 특징인 담백하면서도 소박한 분위기를 색화장토로 형태 표면에 장식함으로써 분청장식미가 나타내는 시각적 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 분청장식 기법이라는 주제를 표현하는데 있어 화면전체의 장식보다는 형태의 부분을 장식하여 조형성과 장식이 조화를 이루는데 중점을 두어 제작의도를 살릴 수 있었다. 이러한 과정에서 본인은 장식기법의 특징을 인식하게 되었고 이를 앞으로 창작활동의 기틀로 삼고자 한다.
