시지각을 통한 대상의 재현적 표현연구

Abstract

인간은 표현이라는 수단으로 자신의 내면세계의 강렬한 충동을 밖으로 표출하며 이때 표현된 것이 창조적 미의식을 갖고 있을때 예술이라 할 수 있다. 표현은 예술에 있어서 기본적 창조행위이며 현대 예술의 양상에 있어서도 그 개념이나 조형성이 확산되면서 작가의 조현이념에 따라 조형세계를 추구하는 경향이 강해지고 있다. 이러한 흐름은 과거 기능주의적 전통에서 벗어나 심미적인 목적으로 예술성을 추구 작가나름대로의 내적의식이나 이미지 표현을 중요시 하는 조형예술로 발전해 가는 경향을 띠고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 천을 자유롭게 말거나 늘여뜨려 생기는 주름의 표현을 주제로 정하여 납방염(Batik) 기법으로 견(Silk)섬유에 염색하여 천의 주름의 형태가 지니는 구조의 미를 유출하고 시지각을 통하여 본 대상의 재현적 조형과, 변형과 재구성을 통한 추상적 조형을 조화시켜 염색공예로서의 조형적 표현성을 모색하는데 연구의 목적을 두었으며 이러한 주제가 표현기법인 납방염으로 어느정도까지 표현가능한가 문제제기 하였다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로는 예술과 표현, 인간내면 세계의 표현으로서의 조형적 성격, 대상을 재구성하는데 있어서의 조형의 지각에 대하여 고찰하고 이러한 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 염색작품 10점을 제작하여 분석해본 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예술은 있는 바를 그대로 나타내는 것이 아니라 주관에 의해 구성되고 표현되는 것이여, 대상에서 느낀 내적 감정을 시각적으로 형상화하는 창조적 행위로서의 표현의 의미는 조형활동에서 중요한 위치임을 알게 되었다. 예술가들은 이러한 조형활동에서 각자의 개성을 보이려고 새로운 미적 대상을 찾아 끊임없이 열중하고 있는데, 이에 본 연구자가 미적 대상으로 택한 천은 다양한 형태로 변형시킬 수 있었음으로 대상을 통한 주름의 형태를 염색작품으로 표현하는 과정에 있어서 본 연구자의 조형의지를 표현하기에 조형예술로서 적절한 대상이었다고 생각된다. 둘째, 천의 주름은 평면과 3차원 공간에서 율동감, 선의 반복과 방향효과등 독특한 조형성을 가지고 있으며, 천 자체의 질감의 도틀 더하기 위해 납방염을 이용한 쟌팅(tjanting)의 전체적인 수직의 방염선을 사용하여 선의 교차, 밀집과 분할에 의한 선구성을 함으로써 천의 주름이 갖고 있는 특성 과 잘 조화되어 주름의 조형감을 효과적으로 표현할 수 있는 조형요소가 되었으며 문제제기를 하였던 주제의 표현기법에 있어 납방염으로도 재현적 표현이 얼마든지 가능함을 알았다. 셋째, 설유예술에 있어서 염색공예도 점차 평면에서 3차원적인 공간예술로 다양화 되고 있는 이때 본연구자는 작품의 전시방법에 있어서 천이 갖는 미적 특질을 최대한 살리기 위해 기존의 액자의 틀에서 벗어나 전시장의 벽으로부터 해방되어 천 자체의 특성을 살려 그대로 천을 늘어뜨리는 방법을 선택했는데 판넬을 없앤 방법이 천의 주름을 표현하고자 했던 작품의 주제와도 일치하였다고 본다. 현대미술에 있어서 염색도 이론적인 원리를 바탕으로 새로운 과학적 접근등 표현과 기법이 다양화 되며 꾸준한 창작활동을 영위하여 새로운 조형세계를 구축해 나가고 있으며 이에 본 연구자는 작업을 통하여 서양화의 캔버스나 동양화의 화선지에서 얻을 수 없는 섬유만이 가지는 매체적 특성을 살려 촉각의 경험을 통해 전달되는 시각적 판단 결과가 앞으로 섬유예술장르의 독자성확보와 관련해서도 중용한 과제의 하나로 지적될 수 있음을 느꼈다. 이에 본 연구자는 이제까지의 작업을 바탕으로 앞으로 작품제작에 있어 영색공예의 특성을 살려 재료에서부터 작품의 '전시방법까지 폭넓은 자유로운 표현방법을 연구하여 창의적인 조형의 세계를 추구하고자 한다.;An artist supervises the object into living creatures as an art being an activity to express something and the realistic shape of the object as a living existence is expressed by the subjectiveness of an artist in a wide variety of ways. Seeing the object for expression through spiritual eyes is to create another world based on artistic elements through finding them by projecting its inward feathures, thereby subliming them. This researcher with artistic subjectivity transforms the object of the cloth directly so that artistic expression may be sought out as dyeing craft in harmony with abstract modeling of mental facts restricted in the course of thought and contemplation felt and sensed about reappearance moulding this object by draining beauty of construction that the form of wrinkle possesses and I am in the presence of this production in harmony with reappearance moulding and abstract moulding like this and I come to get the following conclusion through production process and analysis. Firstly, art is not to describe what is existent as it is but it is expressed through composition by means of subjectivity and I came to know the sense of expression as creative behavior to make shaping of inner feeling which has been sensed about the obitct inwardly, to be a very important position in modeling activity and the artists are enthusiastic about finding out new artistic object continuously to show their own individuality in modeling activity in this way. In this connection, this researcher can transform the cloth selected as artistic object into various form in accordance with modeling subjectiveness of the researcher and the form of a wrinkle through the object is considered as a proper object of modeling art for expressing modeling determination of this researcher in the come of expressing it into dyeing works. Secondly, the wrinkle of the cloth enjoys a feeling of rhythm in plane and the third dimension,; and a unique characteristics of modeling such as repetition of line and effect of direction. In order to upgrade a good touch of the cloth itself the modeling element capable of expressing a fee- of modeling of the wrinkle through harmonious combination of the linear beauty by means of crossing, denseness and partition of line and the features that the cloth is proud of uniquely through using overall vertical line of dyeing of tjanting in application of wax-dyeing so I can find it possible to make reappearance with was-dyeing in expression technique of subject that this researcher has raised as study theme. Thirdly, on this occasion when dyeing industrial arts in textile arts has become gradually space arts of third dimension on the plane this researcher felt the display room as space having shape in order to make specific beauty nature owned only by the textile in display method and selected to make the cloth fall down as it is for the purpose of realizing its own specialties released form the wall out of exiting picture frame, in which the method without elimination of panel was considered as coincidence with a subject of the works that this researcher wanted to make an expression. In the modem arts, dyeing has become various in expression and technique not depending only upon theoretical principle or a certain technique and has been constructing new modeling world to maintain technique application and continuous creation activity but the development of further new material and the exploitation of technique seem to be prerequisite for advancement to wider direction in modern dyeing industrial arts. The visual judgment result conveyed through experience of sense of touch by making specialties of mass be possessed only by the textile which can be obtainable on canvas in the western painting or on Chines paper in the Oriental painting can be raised as the important task in relation to procurement of individuality of textile arts genre in the future so this researcher would like to take this as foundation stone for works production and to pursue for creative modeling world though researching into free materials and expression method.
