전통주거공간의 조형적 재해석에 의한 실내환경디자인에의 접근방법에 관한 연구

Abstract

Due to the improvement of our standard of living in comparison with the histories of interior design in and its related industries, the interest and desire for Interior Environmental Design has been increased day by day, moreover, many developed countries put opening pressure of the door on our country to keep their own interests and vested rights. The world is going to the period of culture-war and the developed countries take Nationalism or Regionalism as a cultural survival-startegy which corresponds with another standardization, that is, Internationalism. The previous designers who recognized the necessity of the study and information interchange on the questions-Which method and process on the basis of world-wide universality are required if our national, social, cultural, or climatic design could be sucessfully inherent cultural design? - have studied a lot on out traditional forms. But there are many adverse criticisms for their have ways of expressions. This is caused by the fact that most of the expressions of Korean tradition are inclined to be only copies or imitations of the old-architectural form as it is. This research suggests a modern expression method by re-interpetation of traditional under the recognition of these problems as methodology, with which we can cope with the opening pressure of international design market. Although there are many ways in the expression of tradition, this study aims to find the expression method by re-interpretation through the spatial and morphological approach of traditional residential space. In application of this important cultural and historic values, and then 'A resting place on the roadside' is planned with the background. The process of this study accomplished with affection for our culture and an active attitude can be summerized, as follows: 1. The purpose and scope of the study are described. 2. An inclusive study that integrates mental, psychological, and aesthetic re-condition is conducted to understand the traditional residential space on the whole by theoretical investigation of divided mental and physical sides of tradition. 3. The spatial characteristics of our traditional residential space are found by studying space as a medium of lives or communication or as a form of daily lives. The spatial characteristics of traditional residential space are summerized, as follows : · Continuity of space as a whole with the division between a house and a room · Rank of space through the influence of geographical condition and Pungsu Jiri Theory (Theory of wind-water-topography) · Crossing and repetition of Opened(Positive) and Closed (Negative) Spaces · Sexual spetialization of space by Ying-Taek and Yang-Taek Theories · Linear construction of exterior and planar construction of interior · Harmony with nature 4. The methodology of formative re-interpretation of traditional residential space is analyzed on the basis of general theoretical study described previously. First of all, the background of ideas is examined and employed as a solution of the design problem through spatial and morphological re-interpretations of traditional residential space that influences on the ways of application in a direct manner. 5. The application process of design carried out up to the present is conducted by allusive symbol, that is, a way of communicating the meaning in analogical perception. · Summary of design : The expression of Korean tradition should be re-interpreted and re-created morphologically and mentally getting out of the unconditional following or imitation of old-architecture as it is. · Programming : Operating plan, conditions of location, and user analysis of the selected space are suggested. · Designing : The concept of form is created through spatial and morphological approaches of each space. This created morphological concept conducts expression of form and space design by allusive symbol. · Synthesizing : The organic union of form and space is pursued by examing design rationalism through feed-back and conceptional approach of application by formative re-interpretation of traditional residential space. It can be shown that the conceptional approach of spatial and morphological characteristics is accessible, and these characteristics can be applied in 3-dimensional space. This research is accomplished from a viewpoint that the modern expression method of traditional residential space is not confined to morphological approach, but the meaning, which is implied in the spirit and space, is applicable.;우리의 짧은 인테리어 디자인 관련 산업 및 디자인 부문의 역사에 비하여 경제수준의 향상으로 실내환경 디자인에 대한 국민의 관심과 욕구가 날로 증대하고 있고, 대외적으로는 선진국들의 자국이익 도모 및 기득권을 고수하기 위하여 많은 개방압력을 강화하고 있다. 세계는 문화전쟁의 시대로 돌입하고 있으며 선진국들은 국가주의 혹은 지역주의를 세계주의라는 이름의 또다른 획일화에 대응하는 문화적 생존전략으로 삼고 있다. 우리도 우리의 국가적, 사회 문화적, 풍토적 디자인이 어떠한 방법과 과정을 거쳐 범 세계적 보편성의 기초위에서 고유한 문화적 디자인으로 성공할 수 있는가에 대한 연구 및 정보교환이 필요한 때임을 인식한 많은 선배 디자이너들은 해결책으로서 우리의 전통 조형에 대해 적지않은 연구를 해왔다. 하지만 그 표현 방법의 문제로 많은 논란이 오가고 있다. 이는 한국의 전통성을 표현하고 있는 예들의 대 부분이 고건축의 형태를 그대로 복사하거나 모방한다는 점이다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제점들의 인식하여 세계 디자인 시장의 개방압력에 대응할 수 있는 방법론으로서 전통성의 재해석에 의한 현대적인 표현 방법을 제시한다. 전통성의 표현 방법에는 여러가지 방법이 있을 수 있지만 본 연구자는 우리 전통 주거공간의 공간론적, 형태론적 접근을 통해 재해석을 함으로서 그 표현 방법을 찾고자 한다. 이러한 방법론을 적용함에 있어서 지리적으로나 역사적으로 중요한 문화사적 가치를 지니고 있는 '충무'를 배경으로 설정하여 '도로변 휴게시설'을 계획한다. 무엇보다도 우리의 문화에 대한 애착과 능동적인 자세로 이 연구를 진행함에 있어서 과정을 항목별로 정리하면 다음과 같다. 1. 연구의 목적과 범위를 설정하고 방법을 기술한다. 2. 전통 주거공간의 개괄적 이해를 위하여 전통에 대한 정신적 측면과 물리적 측면을 양분하여 이론적으로 고찰함으로써 전통 주거공간의 정신적, 심리적, 미적 재조건을 통합한 포괄적 연구를 하였다. 3. 생활의 매체, 커뮤니케이션의 매체, 삶의 일상적 형식으로서의 공간에 대한 고찰을 통하여 우리 전통 주거공간의 공간적 특성을 도출하였다. 전통 주거공간의 공간 특성을 요약하면 다음과 같다. ·채와 간의 분화를 이루면서도 전체적으로 공간의 연속성을 이루고 있다. ·지리적 조건과 풍수지리설의 영향으로 공간의 위계성을 가진다. ·적극적 공간(양적 공간)과 소극적 공잔(음적 공간)의 교차, 반복. ·양택론과 음택론에 의한 공간의 성적 분화. ·외부의 선적·구성과 내부의 면적 구성. ·자연과의 융합. 4. 앞서 설명한 개괄적인 이론적 고찰을 토대로 전통 주거공간의 조형적 재해석의 방법론에 대하여 분석한다. 먼저 사상적 배경을 고찰하고 적용방법에 직접적 영향이 있는 전통 주거공간의 형태론적, 공간론적인 재해석을 통하여 디자인 해결 방안의 근거로 삼았다. 5. 지금까지의 이론적 고찰을 통한 디자인 적용 과정은 유추적인 인식에 대한 의미전달적 방식인 암시적 상징물 통하여 이루어진다. ·디자인 개요 ; 한국의 전통성 표현은 단순만 과거 고건축의 모방이나 답습에서 벗어나 형태적으로나 정신적으로 재해석되고 재창조되어야 한다. ·프로그래밍 단계 ; 설정 공간의 운영 계획, 입지 조건, 이용자 분석을 제시한다. ·디자인 단계 ; 각 공간의 공간론적 접근과 형태론적 접근을 통한 형태 개념을 도출한다. 이렇게 도출된 형태 개념은 암시적 상징을 통한 형태 표현 및 공간 디자인을 실시한다. ·종합 및 검토 단계 ; 각 단계의 Feed Back을 통한 공간 디자인의 합리화와 전통 주거공간의 조형적 재해석에 의한 적용 방법의 개념적 접근을 검토하여 형태와 공간의미의 유기적 결합을 추구한다. 전통 주거공간의 공간론적, 형태론적 특성의 개념적 접근이 가능해 졌음을 알 수 있고 이러한 특성은 3차원인 공간에 있어서도 그대로 적용가능하다. 본 연구는 전통 주거공간의 현대적 표현 방법에 있어서 형태론적 접근에 국한되는 것이 아니라 정신과 공간에 내포되어있는 의미까지 적용가능하다는 입장에서 진행되었다.
