쟝 뒤뷔페 작품의 프리미티비즘을 응용한 복식디자인

Abstract

회화는 복식의 중요한 모티브로서 그 미적 표현을 다양하고 풍요롭게 해준다. 회화를 복식에 도입시킴으로써 활력있는 복식 이미지를 창출하려는 시도는 예술의 실용화라는 점에서 가치있는 일이다. 20세기의 포비즘 운동, 표현주의 운동, 추상파 운동등의 예술운동은 대부분 형체의 본질을 추구하려는 경향을 공유하여 무엇보다도 원시적이고 이국적인 예술, 곧 프리미티브 아트에서 많은 영향을 받았다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 최근 복식에서 두드러지는 원시적 특성을 도입함에 있어서 프리미티브 아트의 정점에서 자리잡고 있는 쟝 뒤뷔폐(JEAN DUBUFFET)의 회화를 응용하여 복식에 프리미티비즘의 특성을 표현, 순수한 생명력을 시각적 측면에서 구현함에 목적을 둔다. 이론적 배경으로는 현대미술속에 나타난 프리미티비즘을 조사하여 쟝 뒤뷔폐 예술의 형성과 작품의 특성속에 프리미티비즘을 찾고자 하였으며 프리미티비즘을 응용한 현대복식에 대해서 연구하였다. 또한 작품제작배경안에 우를루프의 형태와 색채에 대한 조형적 분석을 하였고 작품에 사용한 퀼트기법에 대하여 참고 작품과 함께 사례연구하였다. 위와 같은 이론적 배경을 근거로 우를루프의 특징적인 선을 복식에 도입, 재구성하여 작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 복식에 원시적 성격의 이미지를 도입함은 현대인의 자연 회귀적 성향에 부합될 뿐만 아니라 프리미티브 아트가 갖는 원시적 조형미는 현대복식에 활용될 수 있는 풍부한 디자인 모티브가 될 수 있음이 확인되었다. 둘째, 쟝 뒤뷔페 회화 세계의 분석 결과 가장 비정형적이면서 함축의 의미를 담고 있는 우를루프(Hourloupe)시리즈가 문양적인 시각으로 해석되었고, 복식에 도입이 용이하여 미적인 쾌감을 높일 수 있었다. 세째, 실크소재의 규칙적인 선으로의 누빔방법은 복식표현에 있어서 단순하고 유희적인 형태미를 강조하였으며 강한 대비의 윤곽선을 완화시켜주면서 입체적인 조형미를 나타나게 하였다. 본 연구는 쟝 뒤뷔페의 프리미티브 아트를 복식에 도입함에 있어 문양적인 시각은 강조하였고 모티브로 사용된 유희적인 선들을 이용한 작품들에서 평면적인 디자인이 이루어졌다. 그러므로 앞으로는 프리미티브 아트에 있어서 공간미를 표현한 입체적인 조형세계를 적극적으로 응용하여 복식 디자인에서 보다 더 폭넓은 프리미티브 아트의 원시적 조형미가 표현되어 지기를 바란다.;As an important motif of fashion, paintings create a variety of aesthetic expressions and endow fashion with abundance. The introduction of painting in art creates vibrant fashion image and such efforts are valued by the mere fact that it is a practical adaptation of art in our daily lives. 20th century art tendencies can be described by it's expression of the essence of form such as Favism, Expressionism and the abstract movements. It is by far highly influenced by the primitive and exotic nature of primitive art. So, the goal of this study is to realize the pure life power through the expression of feature of primitivism on the dress and its ornaments by applying the paintings of Jean Dubuffet which is occupying the apex of primitive art from the visual viewpoint, in introuducing the primitive feature which is striking in the recent dress and its ornaments. As for the theoretical background, this researcher tried to find the primitivisim in the feature of work of Jean Dubuffet by examining the primitivism which appeared in the modem fine art, and researched the modem dress and its ornaments which applied the primitivism. In addition, in the background of work manufacture, this researcher tried the plastic analysis about the form and color of wood's loop, and studied about the quilt technique used in the work with the reference work. On the basis of above background, this researcher manufactured the work, by introducing and composing of the characteristic line of wood's loop in the dress and its ornaments again. Firstly, It was confirmed that not only introducing the image of primitive character in the dress and its ornaments satisfies the recurrent disposition but also the primitive plastic beauty that the primitive art has may be the abundant design motive to be able to be utilized in the modern dress and its ornaments. Secondly, the deconstracted and connotative nature of Jean Dubuffet's Hourloupe series was determined as the most powerful perception in prints and easily applied to fashion design creating an overall effect of beauty. Thirdly, the quilted silk which was the chosen material contributed it's contimous lines and created an overall effect of sunplicity and cheerful ambience in form and the powerful outlines were ameliorated by the softness in order to express a 3-dimensional effect. In this study, this researcher emphasized the pattern-characteristic-vision in introducing the primitive art of Jean Dubuffet in the dress and its ornaments, and the flat design was made in the works which used the play-characteristic-lines which were used as motive. So, this researcher hopes that the primitive plastic beauty of wider primitive art may be expressed in the design of dress and its ornaments, by applying the three-dimensional plastic world which expressed the space beauty positively in the primitive art, in the future.
