7정(情)에 관한 감성 이미지 표현 연구

Abstract

21세기 ‘감성의 시대’라 불리는 요즘 인간의 심미적, 상징적, 감성적, 경험적 욕구가 현재 문화를 결정짓는 중요한 요인이다. 현대적 개념의 일러스트레이션은 단순히 ‘글의 내용을 설명하는 삽화’의 개념에서 벗어나 회화적인 주체의식의 회복을 통해 대중의 심리적, 사회적 호응을 기반으로 하여 다양하게 변화하고 발전되었다. 시대의 고유성을 반영함과 동시에 작가 자신의 고유한 개성을 표현해야하며 어떤 목적에 맞추어 의미를 전달해야 하는 기능을 동시에 갖춘 ‘사회를 위한 예술’로서 현대 일러스트레이션은 시각 환경의 형성과 이미지 전달에 있어 아주 효과 적인 수단으로 자리 잡았다. 한마디로 일러스트레이션이 대중과 함께하는 예술이라 할 때, 대중과의 원활한 커뮤니케이션은 일러스트레이션에 있어 가장 기본이 되는 요소임이 분명하다. 정보의 교환과 공유인 ‘커뮤니케이션’은 인간의 기본적인 욕구이다. 감성의 표현이 바로 그것인데 자신의 내면 심리 상태를 외부로 분출함으로써 외부의 환경과 교감하는 것 그 자체가 커뮤니케이션의 기능이다. 톨스토이는 예술의 기본은 감성적인 충격이라고 하였다. 예술 작품은 내적인 요소와 외적인 요소로 성립된다. 내적인 요소는 예술가의 영혼 속에 있는 감성이다. 이 내적요소인 감성은 예술가의 사회 속 주변세계 경험과 자아세계의 체험에서 비롯되며 이때 작가의 정(情)과 상상력이 가능한 한 솔직하고 자유롭게 표현 되어야 감상자는 표현의 진실함을 감동으로 느끼게 된다. 정(情)으로만 존재하는 내면적 요소가 예술 작품으로 발전하기 위해서는 외면적 요소가 필요하다. 외면적 요소는 예술을 표현하는 조형언어로써 감성에 직접 호소하는 색채는 인간의 사고 중에서 원초적이고 진실 된 표현 방식이며 인간 정서를 표현해 주는 상징적 의미를 지닌다. 색채는 화면을 통해 작가의 내면세계를 반영하고 각각의 색채들은 새로운 세계를 형성한다. 좋은 작품은 내적요소와 외적 요소의 조화로운 협동의 결과라 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 한국 정서 심리철학인 희, 노, 애, 구, 애, 오, 욕 7정(情)에 관한 감성 이미지를 표현하고자 한다. 우리가 흔히 겪는 단순한 감정 나열이 아닌 4단 7정에 관한 개념을 명확히 하고 그 표현을 위한 색채의 시각적 성향과 색채 이미지, 미술사조에서의 감성표현으로 쓰인 색채를 분석하여 일곱 가지 감성을 일시적인 감정으로서가 아니라 넓은 의미의 정(情)으로 이미지화 하고자한다. 또 본 연구의 배경이 되는 이론의 연구를 토대로 작품을 제작하고 분석하여 감상자들이 공감할 수 있는 본인의 독창적인 표현의 논리를 제시하여 새로운 시각 표현의 가능성을 열고자한다.;In the 21st century of the emotional age, aesthetic, symbolic, emotional, and experiential needs of human beings are important factors to determine culture. An illustration in the modern concept has been diversified and developed on the basis of psychological and social sympathy of the public through restoration of the sense of pictorial subjectivity rather than simply the concept of 'those explaining the content of writing.' Consequently, a modern illustration became a very effective means to form visual environment and deliver image. 'Art for society' should reflect both peculiarity of the age and characteristics unique to an artist and possess a function of delivering a meaning to meet a certain requirement. In a word, considering an illustration to be art in which the public may participate, it is certain that good communication with the public is the most fundamental element in illustrations. 'Communication' as exchange and sharing of information is a basic need of human beings. It is to express emotion, and spouting their own psychological state to sympathize with external environment itself is a function of communication. As Tolstoy said that the essence of art is 'emotional shock,' emotion is essential for art. An art work is established by internal and external factors, the former is the very emotion within the soul of an artist. Such an internal factor, emotion, comes from an artist's experience of environment in society and his or her own self world; here, an appreciator can be moved by truthfulness of expression only if an artist's passion and imagination is expressed frankly and freely. An external factor is necessary for an internal factor which exists only as sentiment to develop into an art work. As an external factor is a formative language to express art, a color which directly appeals to emotion is the most original and true expression and has a symbolic meaning to express human emotion. Colors reflect an internal world of an artist through picture and each of the colors forms a new world. It can be suggested that a good work is a result of harmonious cooperation between internal and external factors. This study aims at expressing emotional image of the seven passions―joy, anger, sorrow, fear, love, hate, lust―as Korean emotional and psychological philosophy. It intends to clarify the concept of four-seven passions, not listing simple emotions we often experience, and analyze a visual trend of colors for the expression and colors for emotional expression in the history of color image art, and image the seven passions into wider emotions, not into temporary feelings. This study also intends to generate and analyze a work based on a theoretical research as a background of this study, suggest logic of original expression with which appreciators can sympathize, and make a new visual expression possible.
