EBS 지리 수능 강의 시청현황 및 만족도에 관한 조사 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how much students watch and satisfy with EBS KSAT geography programs and what should be done for better programs, and to propose the direction of EBS geography programs for the future based on the result. For the study two hundred male and female students who are third grade in high schools are chosen, and 181 questionnaires of them are analyzed. Collected data are analyzed with SPSS win 13.0. The summary of this research's analysis is as follows: First, the audience rating of EBS KSAT geography program turns out to be low. In spite of the education authorities' announcement that EBS programs' contents are reflected on KSAT tests, the students' audience rating on EBS programs are lower than I expected. Second, the main reason of watching the EBS geography programs is that the programs are reflected on KSAT tests. The response that the programs are better than extra-curricular lecture was very few. The main reason of not watching the programs was that the students were out of time because of school and extra-curricular lectures. Students do not seem to expect much about EBS programs since the number of students who do not watch programs that answered they will watch the programs in the future turned out to be very small. Third, most of the students are watching EBS KSAT geography programs lower than three hours a week by computer in their home. They are watching them in patches when they have extra time. And EBSi Q&A bulletin board is not frequently used by students. Fourth, the satisfaction rate on lecture and textbook was high in the order of lecture time, lecturer, contents of textbook, lecture contents, cost of textbooks, and the satisfaction compared to school and extra-curricular lectures. The satisfaction rate was evaluated as common. Fifth, in the terms of satisfaction rate on the effect, EBS KSAT programs are helpful for reducing the expense of extra-curricular lecture, for the school lectures, and for improvement in geography grades. Sixth, things to be improved for EBS KSAT geography were turned out to be the lecture should go out of monotonous and tedious structure, various question & answer should be added, and the lecturers need to be more amusing and detailed in explanation. In terms of textbooks, they should provide more various types of questions, adjust the difficulty of questions appropriately, and reduce the cost of textbooks. Based on the result of the research, I'm going to propose as follows: First, in order to promote the understanding and not to be bored, the EBS programs should provide various multimedia materials including pictures, graphics, and videos. Second, the quality of lecture of EBS KSAT geography programs should be promoted. If the quality of EBS can exceed that of extra-curricular lectures, the reduction of extra-curricular expenses which is the purpose of EBS KSAT programs can be achieved. Third, to promote the two-way interaction between lecturers and students, EBSi Q&A bulletin board should be revitalized. Fourth, economic load should be shortened by reducing the cost of textbook or uploading lecture materials on board. Fifth, students can be confused because EBS KSAT geography programs are diverse in types. More active guidance, encouragement, management of teachers are required.;교육인적자원부는 2004년 2월 17일 발표한 공교육 정상화를 통한 사교육비 경감 대책의 일환으로 같은 해 4월 1일부터 EBS 수능 강의를 위성 방송과 인터넷을 통하여 무료로 서비스하고 있다. 수능 강의와 수능 시험과의 연계를 강화함으로써 앞으로 학교 수업과 교육 방송만으로 충분히 수능 시험 대비가 가능하도록 하는데 의의가 있다. 또한 농어촌 및 저소득층 자녀에게도 대도시 지역의 학생들과 실질적으로 동일한 교육 기회를 제공하여 경제적인 여건으로 인한 교육의 불평등을 해소하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 EBS 수능 강의 중 지리 과목에 대한 시청현황은 어떠한지, 만족도는 어떠한지, 그리고 개선점은 무엇이라고 생각하는지 알아보고 이들 결과를 바탕으로 앞으로 EBS 지리 수능 강의가 나아가야 할 방향에 대한 제언을 하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 서울시에 위치하고 있는 인문계 고등학교 3학년에 재학 중인 남, 여학생 200명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며 총 181부를 최종으로 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS win 13.0 프로그램을 사용하여 결과를 처리하였고 교차분석을 통해 카이 검증(Chi-square test) 및 유의도 검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, EBS 지리 수능 강의 시청률은 성별, 지역, 지리 성적과 관계없이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. EBS 수능 강의의 내용이 수능시험에 많이 출제되었고, 앞으로 더 많이 반영하겠다는 교육당국의 발표에도 불구하고 고등학생들의 EBS 지리 수능 강의 시청 현실이 예상만큼 높지 않았다. 둘째, 시청하는 주된 이유는 수능에 반영된다고 하기 때문과 과외나 학원을 다니지 않는 대신인 것으로 나타났고, 과외나 학원보다 낫기 때문이라는 의견은 매우 낮았다. 시청하지 않는 주된 이유는 학교나 학원 수업으로 시간이 부족하기 때문인 것으로 나타났다. EBS 지리 수능 강의를 시청하지 않는 경우 앞으로 시청하겠다는 응답도 매우 낮게 나타나 기대 수준이 높지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 강남 학생들은 시청할 의향이 없다는 응답이 많은 반면, 강북 학생들은 모르겠다는 응답이 많이 나타났다. 셋째, 대부분 학생들은 집에서 컴퓨터를 통해 주당 3시간 이하로, 가끔 시간 여유가 있을 때 부분적으로 시청하고 있었다. 한국지리를 가장 많이 시청하고 있었다. 그리고 EBS 지리 수능 강의 시청 중 의문 사항이 생겼을 때 EBSi Q&A 게시판의 이용률은 낮았다. 넷째, 강의 및 교재에 대한 만족도를 보면 강의 시간, 강사, 교재 내용, 강의 내용, 교재비용, 학교나 학원 수업 비교 만족도 순으로 만족하고 있었으며, 만족도는 보통 정도로 평가되었다. 이 중 강사와 강의 내용은 강남 학생들보다 강북 학생들이 더 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 매체에 대한 만족도는 보통 이상으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 효과에 대한 만족도를 보면 지리 사교육비가 절약된다, 수능시험 대비에 도움이 된다, 학교 공부에 도움이 된다, 지리 성적 향상에 도움이 된다 순으로 나타났다. 효과에 대한 만족도 역시 보통으로 평가되었다. 전체적으로 절반 이상의 학생들이 수능 강의를 통한 지리 사교육비 절약에 대해 만족을 느끼고 있었다. 여섯째, EBS 지리 수능 강의에서 개선해야 할 점을 보면, 강의는 단조롭고 지루한 구성을 탈피해야하며 다양한 문제풀이가 첨가 되어야 하고, 강사는 재미있고 자세한 설명이 필요하다고 했다. 교재에서는 문제 유형을 다양하게 하고 난이도를 적절하게 맞추고, 교재 종류와 가격을 줄여야 한다고 했다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 제언을 하고자 한다. 첫째, 강의를 진행 할 때 그림, 그래픽, 동영상 등 다양한 시청각 자료를 활용해서 학생들의 이해를 돕고 지루하지 않도록 해야 한다. EBS 지리 수능 강의를 보면 대부분 판서하면서 내용을 정리하는 딱딱한 강의식 수업이 이루어지고 있다. 수능 시험만을 고려한 강의식 수업을 고집한다면 학생들은 내용을 쉽게 받아들이기 어렵고 지속적인 강의 이용도 불가능해 질 것이다. 둘째, EBS 지리 수능 강의의 질을 높여야 한다. 다른 사교육보다 강의의 질을 높인다면 EBS 수능 강의의 목적인 사교육비 절감의 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 교사와 학생의 쌍방향 상호작용을 높이기 위해 Q&A 게시판을 활성화시켜야한다. 이메일이나 전화 상담 등 다양한 상담 방법을 실시해서 적극적인 질의응답이 이루어질 수 있도록 하여야 한다. 넷째, 교재의 가격을 내리거나 자료실에 강의 내용을 파일로 올려주어서 가계의 경제적인 부담을 줄여주어야 한다. 다섯째, 지리 수능 강의 종류가 다양하기 때문에 학생들의 혼란을 야기할 수 있다. 교사의 적극적인 지도와 격려, 관리가 필요하다.
