지형과 지층의 이미지를 표현한 도자조형연구

Abstract

오늘날 과학의 발발에 의해 많은 변화를 겪은 예술은 모든 기술적 가능성에 대한 탐구로 다양한 형태와 함께 여러가지 표현 방법을 갖게 되었다. 특히 우리 인간이 존재하는 이 지구에서 오랜 세월을 거쳐오는 동안 형성된 자연의 아름다움은 많은 예술 작품의 소재로 사용되어왔다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 자연의 아름다움에서 나타나는 상중 지형과 지층의 이미지를 도자조형에 표현함으로써 안락한 분위기를 형상화하고, 풍요롭고 온화한 자연의 품으로 회귀하려는 인간의 내면적 소망을 표현하고자 하였다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로는 우선 지형과 지층의 이미지를 느낄 수 있도록 지형의 종류와 지층의 일반적 개념에 대해 고찰 하였다. 또한 표면질감에 대한 일반적 개념과 지형과 지층에서 나타나는 독특한 표면질감의 자료사진을 함께 제시함으로써 어떻게 흙을 매개로 지형과 지층의 이미지를 도자조형에 표현할 수 있는지에 대해 연구하였다. 지형과 지층의 이미지를 느끼는 작품의 조형성 연구에서는 작가들의 여러 작품을 통해 질감으로 표현된 여러가지 지형과 지층의 이미지를 느낄 수 있는 작품들을 살펴 보았다. 이에 이미 사진으로 제시하였던 지형과 지층의 이미지를 느낄 수 있는 자료들 중에서 본 연구자의 작품에 도입, 변형하여 조형작품으로 이어지는 형상화과정을 연구하였다. 작품의 디자인과정은 지형과 지층의 사진을 통해 여러 단계로 디자인되었으며, 제작방법은 자기질점토와 청토, 백토, 그리고 성형강도를 높이기 위해 석기점토를 사용하였다. 또한 지층에서 나타나는 충마다의 색상을 소계 자체로 나타내기 위해 각각의 점토에 안료를 혼합한 색점토를 사용하여 이장주입성형, 코일링기법, 석고가압성형, 판성형을 병행하였다. 사용된 안료로는 중앙도재에서 구입한 Black, Yellow, Orange, Brown Coral, G.Green, L.Red, L.Brown으로 모두 고온안료이며, 유약은 흑유와 투명유를 사용하였고, 투명유의 경우는 광택의 방지와 태토 자체의 발색을 돕기위해 물을 배합하여 엷게 시유하였다. 소성방법은 1.5㎥의 가스가마에서 각각 8시간씩 초벌과 재벌을 하였고, 안료발색시에 채도를 낮추기 위해 환원소성을 하였다. 여기에 소지에 따른 안료의 발색도를 살펴보기 위해 자료를 제시하여 배합율에 따른 발색의 차이점을 알아보고 작품제작에 응용하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 제작된 작품은 창의적인 표현으로 만족을 높이는 데 중점을 두었고, 현대사회가 요구하는 개인의 독특한 개성과 조형적인 미적 감각을 개발하고 표현하려 할 때, 새로운 조형세계로서의 창조적인 작품제작의 완성을 체험할 수 있었다.;Today, the art that has experienced many changes because of the scientific developments have come to various ways of expressing through its exploration of every possible methods of techniques. The beauty of nature, above all things, has been used as a subject matter of art since it has been formed through the long years of this earth in which human beings exist. So the purpose of this study is to express the stratum image and rock formation among the natural beauties in a ceramic mould to express a comfortable atmosphere by forming a shape and also to reveal the inner desire of man to go back to the bosom of fertile and mild nature. The theoretical background for this purpose was to investigate the kinds of the stratum and rock formation to feel the ground image at first. Also such matters as how to use the soil for expressing the stratum image and rock formation with a ceramic mould was to examine the genera1 concept of surface texture as well as the data photos of peculiar surface of ground. And next, to examine the formativity of the actual works that make us feel the stratum image and rock formation through the texture, various works expressed the stratum image and rock image into various forms were looked at. Upon these examinations, the progress of moulding from the introduction of the data that made me feel the stratum and rock images, through transformation, was presented by moulding. The process of designing the work consisted of many stages while studying the photos, and in actual manufacturing, materials such as magnetic clay, blue clay, white clay, and stoneware clay for heightening the intensity of casting were used. Different colors on each layers of the stratum, was expressed by using I used the casting techniques with slip, coiling method different types of clay. plaster pressing, slab-building and plate castings simultaneously. The paints that were used are the black, yellow, orange, brown, coral, green, light red, and light brown colors bought at The Central Ceramics Shop, and they are all the high temperature paints. As for the glaze, the black and transparent ones were used, and the transparent glaze mixed with water was thinly applied to avoid the gloss and to help the natural color or original clay. In firing, the work was fired in a gas kiln of 1.5㎥ for eight hours, and this progress was repeated again. But the temperature was reduced to lower the chroma of the work when it began to reveal the colors. To reveal the required colors, close investigation on data and difference of color revelation from the proportion of mixing had been done before applying on the form. The work completed through all these efforts is focused to raise the satisfaction through creative expression. When an artist tries to develop and express his peculiar personality and the aesthetical sense that the contemporary society requires, he can experience the completion of his creative works in a completely new world of formation.
