기독교학교의 종교교육 활동에 관한 연구

Abstract

Beginning at the end of the 19th century, the mission school which was set up by the missionary have played a pioneering role in the civilization and missionary work. Mission school that survived successfully during the period of colony of Japan and Korea War is at the crisis now. Owing to the equalization policy of the Ministry of Education, middle school graduates had to enter the missionary high school depending on the location where they lived. Besides, students, who were not familiar with; or did not accept christianity yet, became indifferent or reluctant to the religious education once they entered missionary high school. In this study, I review the religious education programs of today and try to find the problems related to the programs. Also, based on the results obtained, I suggest the right direction of the religious education. The first chapter deals with t she purpose and the contents of the thesis analysing the reality of the mission school of today and suggesting the direction of the better religious educational activities. In the second chapter, I mention the identity of the mission school and religious educational programs including chapel, bible study, extra-activities and counseling. In the third chapter, I survey the reality of religious educational program of today by analyzing collected opinions of students and chaplains from five methodist mission school in Seoul area. In the fourth chapter, with the results from the survey, I suggest the better direction of religious educational program. For this purpose, four opinions are suggested: 1) reformation of Christian educational philosophy: 2) the responsibility of teacher for right religious education: 3) better direction of religious education including chapel, bible study, extra-activities and counseling and : 4) cooperation with church aiming to the better religious education. In the last chapter, I summarize the contents of my thesis and also include the other possible opinions related to it.;19세기 말엽, 선교사의 입국과 함께 세워져 선교와 함께 개화의 선구자 역할을 했던 기독교학교가 오늘에 이르기까지 우리 나라의 교육에 끼친 공헌은 정말로 큰 것이다. 그 동안 일제시대와 국가 재건시기를 거치면서 많은 어려움 속에서도 면면히 그 맥을 이어온 기독교학교가 오늘에 와서 다시 한번 위기에 처하게 되었다. 문교부의 평준화 정책으로 원하지 않는 학생들도 기독교 학교에 입학하게 되었고, 인문계의 입시위주의 교육과 실업계의 취업위주의 교육으로 인해 기독교학교 내에서의 종교교육은 학생들의 관심 밖으로 벗어나게 되었다. 이런 현실 속에서 본 연구자는 현대사회 속에서 기독교학교 종교교육의 중요성에 대해 언급하고, 종교교육 활성화를 위해 현재 행해지고 있는 종교교육 활동에 대한 현실 진단을 통해 문제점을 발견해 보고, 그를 근거로 해서 보다 나은 종교교육 활동방향을 제시하였다. Ⅰ장에서는 본 논문의 목적과 논문 구조를 밝혔다. 현대의 교육이 위기에 놓인 상황에서 기독교학교의 종교교육의 중요성이 대두됨에도 불구하고 점점 명맥만을 유지해가고 있는 오늘의 기독교학교의 정체성을 재정립하고, 또한 종교교육의 활성화를 위해 새로운 종교교육의 활동방향을 연구·모색하는 것이 이 논문의 목적이다. Ⅱ장에서는 이론적 기초로서 기독교학교의 정체성에 대해 언급하고 그 가운데서 행해지는 대표적인 종교교육활동-특히 예배, 성경수업, 특별활동, 상담을 중심으로-을 기독교교육학적으로 고찰해 보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 위의 이론적 기초를 중심으로하여 특별히 선택된 서울 시내에 있는 감리교 계통의 기독교학교 5개교의 교목실과 학생들에 대한 설문을 통해 현재 행해지고 있는 종교교육의 현실을 진단·분석해 보고 문제점들을 찾아보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 현실진단과 분석을 기초로 하여 보다 발전적인 종교교육 방향을 제시하였다. 먼저 올바른 기독교철학이 재정립되어야 하고, 기독교학교의 교직에 대한 새로운 인식이 필요하다는 것을 언급하고 이어서 교육 활동면에서 예배·성경수업·특별활동·상담을 중심으로 각자의 바람직한 종교교육 활동의 방향을 제시해 보았다. 그리고 교회와의 협력의 필요성에 대해 이야기 하였다. Ⅴ장에서는 본 논문의 내용을 요약하고 앞으로 기독교학교의 보다 나은 종교교육활동을 위한 과제를 제시하였다.
