플로랄 모티브와 스티치 기법에 의한 패브릭 디자인 연구

Abstract

People have been constantly influenced and deeply moved by the nature where the unlimited change and harmony have grown, so we have considered them as the continual subject of the observation and expression in every sphere of art, science and culture. As people's intellectual faculties and wisdom in life have been increased, our enthusiastic expression and concern toward to nature would have connected to an art impulse. However, in recently, people became estranged from the nature with the reason of the development of scientific civilization and environmental pollution, people would yearn for rural life and try to satisfy their strong intention in nature by artistic presentation. Due to the development of scientific civilization and environmental pollution, people would eager to express their spirit to be back to the nature, moreover, we have recognized the necessities of higher standard of living and their diversity. In order to develop the creative textile design, which based on the background of naturalism above mentioned, I have chosen the floral motive which could be expressed the main express of natural affinities with higher satisfaction in my study. The purpose of this study is also to investigate the design motive that could create the higher additional value by using the machine stitch technique, felt, burning, piercing, plaiting and digital printing. For the purpose of background of my study, First, I've inquired into the characteristics of floral motives, such as symbolism and aestheticism, and examined how modern textile design would be expressed with reference to researches and literatures. Machine stitch technique as well as practical artistic presentation in modern textile were studied secondly. Based on the artistic records and researches of this study, Fabrics, digital printed of floral motive on polyester, were cut at regular interval then reconstructed with the plaiting technique then fixed by machine stitches in 3 pieces of practical work of art. Besides, two pieces of art works, where floral motive was digital printed on polyester fabrics then partially piercing as well as machine stitches yielded new qualities, were made. Floral motives were not only burned on the mixed yarn such as demon and rayon, but also dyed and machine stitched in four pieces of in my art works, moreover, two pieces of works were made by floral motive felt. 11 pieces of my art works were presented in result. According to the process of my artistic work and studies, I could come to a conclusion as below. First, through out the acquiring of variety techniques of machine stitch and its presentation, I could find the correlations in creating higher additional value with an development of artistic design sense. Second, I could also find the possibilities of development of creating additional value by applying the plaiting, piercing, burning and felt techniques as I have studies. In conclusion, I believe that the development of textile design for floral motive will be continually developed and widely applied with the machine stitch techniques so it will help to connect the development of modern textile design.;인간은 자연에 의해 끊임없는 감동을 받고 자연의 무한한 변화와 조화 속에서 영향을 받으며 자연 환경 속에서 자신의 존재와 생명을 확인하며 자연을 계속적인 관찰과 표현의 대상으로 여겨 왔다. 인간의 자연에 대한 관심과 표현의 충동은 인간이 생각하는 능력과 생활의 지혜가 진보됨에 따라 예술적 활용으로 연결되었다. 그러나 현대 생활은 과학문명의 발달과 환경오염 등의 이유로 자연을 훼손시키고 있어 인간을 자연에서 멀어지게 하고 있지만 그럴수록 인간은 자연을 더욱 동경하고 그러한 마음을 예술적 표현을 통해 충족시키려는 의지가 강하게 나타나고 있다. 과학문명의 발달과 환경오염으로 자연으로 돌아가고자 하는 마음이 많이 표현 되고 있으며 또한 소비 수준의 향상으로 우리의 삶이 질적으로 고급화 되어 다양화 되었음을 인식할 필요가 있다. 본 연구자는 창조적인 텍스타일 디자인 개발을 하기 위해서 자연 친화적 표현을 충족시킬 수 있는 플로랄 모티브를 선택하였고 기계를 통한 스티치 기법과 태우기, 뚫기, 엮기, 디지털 프린팅 기법을 이용하여 시각적인 효과를 극대화시킴으로써 고부가 가치를 창출할 수 있는 디자인 패브릭을 만들고자 하였다. 아트 패브릭 제작을 위하여, 첫째, 플로랄 모티브가 가지는 (상징성, 심미성) 을 문헌 자료를 통해 고찰하였고 현대 텍스타일 디자인에 있어서 어떻게 표현 되었는지에 대해 살펴보았다. 둘째, 머신 스티치 기법에 대한 고찰과 현대 텍스타일에서의 스티치기법의 응용 표현에 대해 살펴보았다. 이러한 문헌연구를 바탕으로 한 실제 작품 제작은 폴리에스테르 소재에 플로랄 모티브를 디지털 프린팅하여 해체하고 엮기 기법으로 재구성 하고 폴리에스테르 소재에 플로랄 모티브를 부분적으로 뚫은 기법으로 재구성 한다. 그리고 혼방(마, 레이온) 패브릭에 플로랄 모티브를 태워 재구성한 작품 등 총 12점을 제작 하였다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 얻어낸 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 플로랄 모티브가 다양한 표현 기법을 통해서 감각적인 디자인으로 개 발 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 엮기, 뚫기. 태우기, 스티치기법들을 다양하게 활용함으로써 뉴 패브릭으로 고부 가치로 개발해내는 가능성을 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 결론을 바탕으로 앞으로도 플로랄 모티브를 가지고 다양한 기계 스티치 기법을 응용한 텍스타일 디자인의 개발이 지속적으로 연구 발전 시켜 현대적인 텍스타일 디자인을 개발 하고자 한다.
