Abstract

Integrated management system plays very important role in the Internet server management. Since application services, including system, network, web service and mail server, have systematic relations in providing the Internet service, it cannot be managed as independent components because each components have relations under the one goal to provide stable Internet service. For example, a problem generated in one component can cause the source of problem of other components. While current Internet server management system provides service management and log analysis functionality based on web server and network management, it is the reality in the actual field that the system management are managed with additional tools that cause inconvenience that users should handle various tools at the same time. This thesis came up with the design of the system that can manage integrated Internet service and system management. integrated management. The subject of the for Internet server includes system, network equipment, and application services that were installed on H/W such as mail server and web server for the Internet service. This thesis defined the scope of the functionality to manage the Internet server efficiently as 4 sectors, including structure management, performance management, fault management, security management, setting up the management metric upon the functionalities. Especially, this research focused on the management metric set up for web service management. Integrated management system for Internet server that was designed on this research has 3-tier structures, including web user interface, management manager, management agent. Web user interface is platform independent and can be accessible remotely. It also manages network and Internet server through centralized interface.;인터넷 서버 관리에 있어서 통합 관리 시스템은 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 시스템과 네트워크, 웹서비스나 메일 서버 등의 용용 서비스는 인터넷 서비스를 함에 있어서 서로 매우 유기적인 관계를 갖고 있기 때문에 서로 독립적인 컴포넌트로서 관리될 수 없다. 왜냐하면, 각각의 컴포넌트들은 안정된 인터넷 서비스라는 하나의 목표 아래 서로 관계성을 갖고 있기 때문이다. 예를 들면, 하나의 컴포넌트에 발생한 장애가 다른 컴포넌트의 장애에 원인을 제공할 수도 있다. 현재의 인터넷 서버 관리 시스템들은 웹서버를 중심으로 한, 서비스 관리와 로그 분석기능만을 제공하고 네트워크 관리나 시스템 관리는 별도의 툴을 사용해 관리하고 있어 운영자들이 한꺼번에 여러 가지 툴을 사용해야 하는 불편함을 겪고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 인터넷 서비스와 시스템 관리를 통합적으로 할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하였다. 인터넷 서버 통합 관리의 대상은 시스템, 네트워크 장비, 그리고 인터넷 서비스를 하기 위한 웹서버, 메일 서버와 같은 하드웨어에 설치된 응용 서비스 등이 포함된다. 인터넷 서버를 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 관리 구조를 설계하고 기능 범위를 구성 관리, 성능 관리, 장애 관리, 보안 관리 네 가지 범주로 정의하였다. 각 기능을 수행하기 위한 구성 요소들을 정의하였으며 각 구성요소들의 동작 원리를 정의하는데 초점을 맞추었다. 또한 각 기능별 관리 지표를 설정하였으며 특히 웹 서비스 관리를 위한 관리 지표 설정에 중점을 두었다. 본 연구에서 설계한 인터넷 서버 통합 관리 시스템은 웹 사용자 인터페이스, 관리 매니저, 관리 에이전트의 3-tier구조를 가진다. 웹 사용자 인터페이스는 플랫폼에 독립적이며 원격지에서도 접속이 가능하고 중앙 집중화된 인터페이스를 통해 네트워크와 인터넷 서버를 관리할 수 있게 한다.
