한국아동과 미국아동의 풍경화에 관한 비교 연구

Abstract

Generally, children draw landscape with their own experience about their circumstances. The type of expression is various according to their socialand cultural background. So the influence of children's circumstances in their landscape is great. The purpose of this paper is to compare the charcateristics in landscape between primary grade Korean and American elementary school student having different cultual and social circumstances. The approach used in this paper is based on the literal research, the collected data and the 600 landscapes drawn on drawing paper of 26.0cm×35.5cm about 'our village' by Korean and American students. The analysis is performed by percentage method and chi-square method to findthe descrepancy between Korean student and American students. The summary of the results are as follows 1. Type comparision In type comparision, stand-type is dominent in Korean student. On the otherhand, bold-type is dominent in American student. As a result of chi-square test, all data show that there are much descrepancy between two groups according to country and age. 2. Composition comparision Scattered composition all over the drawing paper is dominent both two groups. In American students, the percent age of balanced composition is two times higher than Korean students. 3. Color comparision Korea students prefere pink color. On the other hand, American students prefer red. In general, korean student use second color such as greenyellow, yellow, pink. But american student use strong color such as red, blue, green. Korean students use more color than american students. All data show that there are some descrepancy between two groups in thr color and in the number of color. 4. Back ground comparision In most case, both two groups remain back ground empty. Some korean students painted back ground in one or two colors. 5. Content comparision House is the main content in Korean student. On the other hand, tree is the main content in American students. In genera1, Korean students draw artificial-object around the house. But American students draw natural-object around the house. 6. House type comparision The main type of the house in Korean students is polygon with front view. American student draw the house using simple triangle shape. Data show the discrepancy between two groups in house type. 7. Tree type comparision Korean students draw trees subjectively and realisticlly. On the other hand American students draw tree objectively and imaginatively.;아동의 그림은 환경적인 자극에 의해 미적 경험을 체험하여 그 표현능력이 발달하게 되며, 환경적 차이에 의해 표현 형태도 다양하게 나타난다. 따라서 아동의 미술 표현에 있어서 환경적 용인은 큰 작용을 하는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 국민학교 저학년을 대상으로 환경이 서로 다른 한국아동과 미국아동의 풍경화 특성을 비교하는데 있다. 이 목적을 수행하기 위해 만 6세-8세 아동을 대상으로 한국아동 300명과 미국아동 300명이 8절지 화지에 '우리 동네' 라는 주어진 주제에 따라 그린 풍경화를 수집하여 분석 판결에 따라 비교하고 비교 곁과를 백분율과 Chi Square (X^(2)) 분석 방법으로 변수간의 유의도를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 1. 유형별 비교 표현 유형의 비교에 있어서 한국아동은 표준형이 가장 많았고, 미국아동은 대담형이 가장 많았다. 유형별 비교에서 나라별, 연령별로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 2. 구도의 비교 한국아동과 미국아동 모두 전체적으로 산만한 구도가 가장 많았으며, 대칭적 구도는 한국아동에 비해 미국아동이 2배 이상의 높은 비율을 차지 하였다. 두 나라간에는 유의한 차이가 있음을 보였다. 3. 색의 비교 주조색에 있어서 한국아동은 분홍색을 가장 많이 사용하였고, 미국아동은 빨강색을 가장 많이 사용하였다. 한국아동은 노랑, 분홍, 연두등 중간색을 사용하는데 비해 미국아동은 파랑, 빨강, 초록등 강한 원색을 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 색의 사용 수에 있어서 한국아동이 미국아동보다 다양한 색을 사용하였다. 유의도 검증 결과 두 나라간에는 유의한 차이가 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 4. 배경 처리의 비교 한국아동과 미국아동 모두 풍경을 그리고 난 여백을 공백 처리한 아동이 가장 많았고, 한국아동이 미국아동에 비해 배경을 두·세가지 색을 사용하여 처리한 아동이 많았다. 5. 내용 (소재)의 비교 한국아동은 집을 가장 많이 표현 하였고, 미국아동은 나무를 가장 많이 표현 하였다. 한국아동은 주로 집 주위의 생활환경을 소재로 선택한 반면 미국아동은 집 외에 자연환경을 소재로 선택하였다. 6. 집 형태의 비교 한국아동은 한국에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 기와집인 사다리꼴 지붕의 형태가 가장 많았고, 미국아동은 지붕을 삼각형으로 간단히 표현한 형태가 가장 많았다. 집 형태의 비교에서 나라별로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 7. 나무 형태의 비교 한국아동은 가지와 나무 전체의 윤곽을 표현한 아동이 가장 많았고, 미국아동은 나무의 형태를 상징적으로 표현한 아동이 가장 많았다. 두 나라간에는 유의한 차이가 있음을 보였다.
