납방염에 의한 자연의 표현연구

Abstract

인간은 자연의 섭리안에서 존재하며 또한 그 자신도 자연의 일부이기 때문에 그 삶은 자연적 환경조건의 영향을 받게 된다. 자연은 인간이 표현하는 예술의 근원이며 예술가는 이러한 자연을 조형적 창작활동의 소재로 삼아 그 자연 속에서 미를 발견하고 체험한 이미지를 형상화하여 왔다. 이러한 현상은 염색공예에서도 예외는 아니며 새롭고 다양한 조형예술로서의 가치를 추구하는 노력은 끊임없이 계속되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 염색에 있어서 자연의 형상속에서 느끼는 서정적인 면에서 면, 색채등을 통하여 미적조형을 창출하려는 목적을 두었다. 작품제작을 위하여 이론적으로는 표현과 소재, 자연의 표현에 대하여 고찰하고 이러한 이론적 배경을 토대로 하며 초방염의 기법으로 작품을 6개 제작하였으며 그것을 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연은 변함없는 인간의 관심대상이며 선사시대 이후 오늘날까지 좋은 작품의 소재가 되어주고 있다. 또한 작가의 미 의식에 따라 그대로 묘사하는 것이 아니라 작가의 표현의지에 의해서 변형되어진 새로운 조형세계를 표현하고 있다. 둘째, 자연 경관을 표현하는 과정에서 점, 선, 면등을 이용한 초방염법의 반복되는 기법은 많은 시간이 소요되기는 하지만 생동감있는 자연을 표현하는데 있어 비교적 효과적이었다. 특히 물에 투영된 나무등을 수직의 짧은 선등으로 툭툭 찢듯이 그려나간것이나 스적거린것 같은 붓자국등을 작품에서의 큰 효과를 보았다고 생각되어진다. 셋째, 염료나 섬유의 특성이 기법상의 어려움은 따르지만 염색공예만이 지닐 수 있는 독특한 조형적 표현 가능성을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 그간 작품을 제작함에 있어 초기 작업 과정에서는 점과 선으로 풍경을 묘사하였으며 마지막 작품인 노을에서는 붓의 더취에 변화를 많이 주어 크고 사행의 방향과 수평 방향의 교차를 시도하였다. 노을에 있어서의 표현방법은 거칠고 강한면은 있으나 그 반면에 그림의 구도를 단순화시켜 본인이 나타내고저 하는 표현상의 의도에는 접근한듯 하며 앞으로 이러한 방면으로의 작품제작을 통하여 연구를 거듭하고자 한다.;The life of human being is inevitably affected by the natural environments as the human being exists in the dispensation of nature and composes a part of nature itself. The nature has been the origin of arts to be expressed by the human being and therefore, the most important subject for the formative arts, Artists have pursued to examine the beauty within nature and to sublimate the personal experiences into artistic expressions. Dyeing art is not also exceptional to the principle, building up endeavors to test the forntier of the formative art and to create artistic value from the works. The purpose of the study is to examine the possibility of the formative expression on the lyric impressions conceived from nature by using dyeing instruments of lines, surfaces and colors. Theory was first studied in the field of the expression, the materials andthe expression techniques on nature. Based on the theoretical study, six works had been completed employing paraffin dyeing technique. The results after analyzing the works are as follows. First, nature has been the subject which human being dose not pause to express even since. Artists do not describe nature merely as it is but, transform their own insight into the creation of artistic works through aesthetic senses. Second, the repeating method of dots and lines under the paraffin dyeing technique has been found to be more effective to vividly deliver the impression from nature. Finally, despite technical difficulties from dyes and fabrics, the dyeing technique under the study has revealed its unique characteristics to distinguis itself from other artistic instruments in the delivery of the formative expression. Thus, the author has found a possibility to extend the horizon of artistic expression in dyeing art, by developing new techniques through dedicated research and production of creative works.
